The narrator said he looks defiant, but I just see defeat. He looks like he’s carrying a heavy weight on his shoulders. I guess he was defiant in his behavior though.

It looks to me like my mom was right. “If you keep making that funny face it will stick that way.” Throughout that video there isn’t the slightest movement in the expression. It was as though he was wearing a Halloween mask. I would describe the expression as grumpy.

One of the broadcasters that was on the courthouse steps reading notes handed to them from the people inside said pretty much the same thing. Something along the lines of “he’s spent the entire time with his lips pursed, making that face he’s become known for”.
