NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

Ah. The man with the dead eyes.

Well, if he’s declared open season on dissenters, that makes it open season right back.

Ministry of Truth… Department of Justice.

Dead eyes and a dead soul.

Nitpick: Chicken&Human soup.

MTG tried to warn us! She warned us of the Gazpacho Police. We all laughed at her and called her an idiot. Well, who is laughing now?

The Gazpacho Police is ICE, because gazpacho is always served cold.

I stand corrected.

Well, we know that they at least will have functionally Federal immunity - Bondi won’t prosecute. However, three ICE officers will be finding out that they do not have STATE immunity. I fully expect prosecution on murder charges.

Hopefully the statute of limitations hasn’t run out by the time she’s gone (and hopefully Trump doesn’t pardon them before he’s gone).

I don’t care if he does, as long as the State of Minnesota prosecutes.

There’s no statute of limitation on murder. As Bunk in The Wire said, murders stay murders. You can go after them any time you want.

But they’re doing plenty of illegal things that aren’t murder. I don’t have a problem with them getting charged, even a few years down the road, for pepper spraying kids or dragging people out of their cars. Even if they never actually get charged, they should at least be concerned about the possibility of being held responsible for their illegal actions after Trump is out of office and no longer able to protect them.

I happen to have been able to listen to NPR yesterday, and heard this story. [bolding mine]

PEREIRA: Yeah, I was in shock. I was like, guys, like, I’m really trying to do the right thing. I always made sure, like, I was legal in the country.

BEARDSLEY: This apolitical youngster says he had no problem handing over his devices and passwords. He had nothing to hide. But he wasn’t even allowed to call his parents initially. Border Patrol told him foreigners do not have the same rights. After a few days in detention, Pereira was handed over to ICE.

Note that Stephen Miller was probably incorrect in claiming ICE officers have “federal immunity.” As this CNN story says, there are two questions that need to be addressed. First, was the agent acting in the course of their official duties? Second, was the action “reasonable” based on the circumstances?

You got something you wanna tell us, Ross?

Funny enough, Ross yesterday was lamenting how Trump is turning the country against conservatives.

“And all of this was predictable. From the first days of DOGE through the debacle in Minneapolis, the Trump administration has consistently governed as if swing voters aren’t part of its coalition. And now, guess what? They’re not,”

Maybe next time don’t make a senile. racist, sexual predator who was convicted of multiple felonies your leader.
