“Even other Jews?”
“ESPECIALLY other Jews.”
The South African Apartheid Government didn’t seem to mind Jews, although that was in pursuit of nuclear weapons. We have a Holocaust museum quite close to Parliament.
Being naturally bigoted idiots, no doubt that that tolerance faded somewhat once we had the atomic bomb.
Now, in these slightly more enlightened times, our far left just hate all whites, and our (tiny) far right can’t afford to alienate anyone with anything like a “fair” complexion, because they are so vastly outnumbered by the rest of us - as the local saying is, a “rainbow nation”.
“The Jews” as a topic hardly ever comes up, aside, perhaps, when I want a challah - or when my very non-practicing Jewish friend amiably gave me shit for baking challah during Passover.
The Rhodesian Government also was somewhat cosy with Israel, but that was purely a commercial relationship, money for guns. I don’t think I know a Zimbabwean Jew, and I cant recall any synagogues there. But my dad did have an Uzi as part of his state issued military equipment.
To quote a great man who left us last year:
Oh the Catholics hate the Protestants
And the Protestants hate the Catholics
And Hindus hate the Muslims
And everybody hates the Jews
Growing stronger by the day.
No doubt it’s about Lakewood.
Lakewood has an exceptionally large number of Orthodox Jews residing there, they are a significant majority of the population, and it impacts the operation of the town. For example, the population is about 140k, the public school district has 5k students in total. The district pays to bus 25k students to 70+ Yeshivas.
Lakewood’s population has more than doubled in 20 years, so the changing population dynamics puts stress on the existing systems. And, to be fair, any community where the super seriously religious are a majority and decide stuff for everyone is a community at risk, every bit as true for Christians and Muslims.
yes, his mother’s side has very deep roots in the u.s..
Florida has criminal laws against felons owning guns. I’m pretty sure this is standard throughout the country..
Earlier this week, the Florida Attorney General announced to an appeals court that it takes the position that the 2nd amendment to the U.S. Constitution limits this to felons that are deemed “dangerous”.
I’m not clear what a “dangerous” felon is (Florida defines “violent felonies”, which notably does not include possession of child pornography), but this creates a black hole in Florida’s gun laws, and I’d think it to be a pretty big impediment to law enforcement.
God but I miss Tom Lehrer. I should put on “Vatican Rag” and dance in tribute to him.
Oh, I’m sure I have a paper sack lying around, if you want a guide
Hegseth to Anthropic: We want to use your AI to literally create Skynet
Anthropic: No
Hegseth: YOU ARE A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY AND I WILL DESTROY YOU
MTG says Laura Loomer is relishing American troops’ deaths.
And here’s MTG’s epically furious response:
Repesentative Omar has some well-chosen words for Nancy Mace.
That garnered this response.
*Note: “his holy month” should be “this holy month” referring to Ramadan.
Burns are particularly effective when they’re based in reality.
Girl! (MTG’s enlisting challenge to Loomer)
In a shocking twist of events that I’m sure nobody saw coming, it turns out that the former Border Patrol “commander at large” who liked to strut around in a greatcoat, with a high fade, leading a platoon of stormtroopers while throwing chemical weapons indiscriminately at civilians, MIGHT ALSO POSSIBLY BE AN ANTISEMITE.
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/03/us/greg-bovino-investigation-dhs.html
The Department of Homeland Security has opened an internal investigation into a report that Gregory Bovino, a senior Border Patrol commander, made disparaging remarks about the Jewish faith of the top federal prosecutor in Minnesota during an immigration operation in the state.
Mr. Bovino, who was the most visible figure in the government’s crackdown in Minnesota, complained in a phone call to federal prosecutors in January that the U.S. attorney in Minnesota, Daniel N. Rosen, was hard to reach over the weekend because he observes Shabbat, according to several people with knowledge of the call. Shabbat is a 25-hour period of rest that starts Friday at sundown and often includes refraining from using electronic devices.
Mr. Bovino used the term “chosen people” in voicing his frustration about Mr. Rosen, an Orthodox Jew, and asked sarcastically whether Orthodox Jewish criminals refrained from breaking the law during the weekend, the people with knowledge of the call said.
Nope, I did Nazi that coming.
Go stand in the corner and think about what you’ve done.
Well, someone had to say it.
Pete Hegseth says “Shrink, I want to kill. I mean, I wanna, I wanna kill. Kill. I wanna, I wanna see, I wanna see blood and gore and guts and veins in my teeth. Eat dead burnt bodies. I mean kill, Kill, KILL, KILL.”
