NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

No, a Mrs. Oveur.

Roger.

Eh?

Lol. Bottom surgery takes much longer to recover than that.

Republican candidate for Lt. Governor of Massachusetts drives drunk, crashes into five parked cars and flips his own vehicle, is arrested, and drops out of the race.

I’m sure Sean Duffy is sending his thoughts and prayers and starting a PAC to keep him in the race.

I’ve heard of a candidate crashing out of a race but God damn.

That’s a hell of an act. What do you call it?

Just another day in the GOP.

Or..

The Aristocrats!

I call it one down, a couple thousand more R elected officials to go.

I’m more surprised the campaign did anything but deny, distract, and delay. Or however that saying goes.

Yes,

Some people are mistaking “able to go home from the hospital” or “able to resume some activities” for complete recovery.

But it’s a well established fact that it is frequently done in the nurses office within a school day so it can’t be that bad.

The nurses at the school I attended probably would not have done the surgery (very religious school) but if they had, I’d have been chopped, re-constructed… and back in class within the class period with nothing but an aspirin and the expectation to not complain (very religious school)

They also let you sit in a tray of kitty litter as you recover.

I saw a bumper sticker recently that seems on-point for this thread.

We live in an era where
intelligent people are silenced so
stupid people aren’t offended

It explains so much in so few words.

If someone stupid is offended by what I say, that’s their problem. :head_shaking_vertically:

I agree with you. But a LOT of Americans do not. And as we saw in 2016 and 2024, they vote.

But they told me to “shut up, snowflake”! They can dish it out but they sure can’t take it!

Uh huh. That is exactly the Fascist MO. Their right to be undisturbed by your existence is absolute. Your role is be trampled without complaint.

The city-run natural history museum where I volunteer used to have a staffed exhibit on Human Origins. It was a a table with series of skull casts ranging from Australopithecus afarensis (Lucy) to Homo sapiens with a chimpanzee thrown in for good measure. On Fridays when I was there is was staffed by a Christian woman, a retired school teacher.

Then Mesa voters in their infinite wisdom elected a Turning Point USA endorsed mayor and doubled down by successfully recalling a city council member and replacing her with another TPUSA candidate. A couple months afterward the museum received a letter from the city manager warning the museum to not offend people by talking about evolution and climate warning. In the eight years I’ve been there this was the first time the council had said or done anything about the museum except grumble about the budget.

The exhibit was closed down and hasn’t reopened since. The volunteer has shifted to another exhibit of late pleistocene megafauna and the people who hunted them. She won’t “bring up” the subject of climate change but of someone asks she will answer directly.
