NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 4)

More properly, it’s a rifle that fires .30-06 ammunition - as in a type of .30 caliber ammunition that was originally developed in 1906 (‘aught six’).

Given Noem’s own lack of knowledge on proper handling of firearms, that sort of oversight in her staged letter is unsurprising.

Just tell her to look for a 30 yard long rifle. What a maroon.

And that’s just 10 feet.

Checking a map… Starting with B? I’m not seeing whatever it is.

As to @Joey_P 's post, if the administration is prioritizing railroading Hispanics over finding people actually plotting against the President, that has… implications.

After Joni Ernst slip saying everyone will die, she just doubled-down on that, releasing a sarcastic video while walking through a graveyard. It’s so cringe that I couldn’t finish the video. Anyway, here it is.

I mean, seriously, who wants a politician that has any sort of empathy or care for their constituents anyway.

All that matters is that’s she owns the libs.

I have to believe this is too far, even for many of her MAGA followers. Not all MAGAs are deranged sociopaths like her.

They just worship them.

I’m guessing they all know what a .30-06 is too. And HOPEFULLY don’t shot their dogs in the face.

I thought that was the other deranged sociopath, Kristi Noem? Ernst was the one who said she enjoyed castrating pigs or something.

Per the Wikipedia article for Dale City, VA:

The streets along Dale Boulevard (generally) proceed alphabetically when followed from east to west starting from Gideon Dr. and ending at Hoadly Rd.: Ashdale, Barksdale, Birchdale, Cherrydale, Cloverdale, Darbydale, Emberdale, Evansdale, Forestdale, Glendale, Hillendale, Kerrydale, Kirkdale, Lindendale (which includes Surrydale Ct.), Mapledale, Nottingdale, Orangedale, Princedale, Queensdale, Ridgedale, Silverdale, and Trentdale

I’m really really glad I didn’t have to bring up the subject of the tooth fairy as well.

What a loathesome sack of (Felon-ONE).

She did. “Pray”

I heard some poli sci person in a podcast use this Ernst episode as an example of what he described as Trump’s patrimonialism approach to government. Sucking up to Trump even at the expense of her constituents is what’s required from her. Owning the libs is a bonus that goes along with that.

I was somewhat aware of patrimonialism but refreshed my memory on the details and I can see why the guy describes aspects of Trump’s approach as such:

Patrimonialism is a form of governance in which the ruler governs on the basis of personal loyalties which are derived from patron-client relations, personal allegiances, kin ties and combinations thereof.[1] Patrimonialism is closely related to corruption, opportunism and machine politics.[2] It can contribute to underdevelopment and weak state capacity.[3]

In contrast to many other systems of governance, the ruler does not derive legitimacy from personal charisma or a sense of mission, but primarily through the ability to dole out rewards and punishments.[1][2] Initially coined by Max Weber, patrimonialism stands in contrast to rational-legal bureaucracies, as there is no objective of efficiency in public administration and government staff are not advanced based on merit, experience and training.[2][4][1]

Weakness

[edit]

Johnathan Rauch notes that the opposite of patrimonialism is not democracy but “bureaucratic proceduralism”. The weakness of patrimonialism is that as it undermines bureaucracy it “weakens and eventually cripples” the state. Skilled, or just competent people are replaced by obedient ones dependent on the ruler’s support; corruption is accelerated as contractors, grant-givers, civil servants become accustomed to currying favor.[19]

Bureaucracy is necessary for an advanced, complicated society to operate well, but it seeks expertise, functions according to laws and rules, interfering with the whims of the father-ruler to dispense favors and punishments.[19] Eventually at some point the public’s instinctual antagonism to corruption (the giving of service to others and not to the public) and incompetence will be triggered and bring the regime down.[19]

Going against Trump will get you primaried and there’s always the threat against your physical safety by some of the more unhigned MAGAs.

What is with that extra word there?

Back to the ‘30 yard 6’ letter. The person named as the author, the one arrested by ICE was robbed a few years back…and do I need to go any further?
The person who actually wrote the letters, plural, was the suspect in that case. He was trying to get the victim/witness deported.
He’s currently in jail from that robbery. He wrote and mailed the letters from jail. He made multiple phone calls to people on the outside, using the recorded jail phone, and explained his plan.

He’s charged with, Misappropriate ID Info - Harm Reputation, bail jumping and witness intimidation. I wonder if he’ll end up with any sort of federal/ICE related charges.

Ongoing court case from the robbery:

Court case for the letters:

For those that aren’t keeping up, this is the reason that ‘Sanctuary Cities’ exist.

I can’t wait to hear the denial on this one. “He was paid by Bezos to say he wrote the letters! He’s pardoned!”

Trump is in the process of turning ‘Sanctuary Cities’ into the current boogeyman. Not much different than calling everything he doesn’t like ‘woke’.

The list includes spelling errors and names of areas that actually backed President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, with one local official saying mistakes on the document were “negligent.”

But the list had misspellings and included sparsely populated counties that have little to do with immigration, as well as areas that overwhelmingly backed Trump and his hardline immigration policies, The Associated Press reported.

Some counties were mislabeled as cities and vice versa and misspelled communities included Cincinnati. In North Dakota, seven mostly small, rural counties wound up on the list, including Slope County, which also backed Trump

But communities on the list across the country questioned their inclusion, with some Trump-supporting places saying they have no sanctuary immigration policies.

WAG, they’re going to use the ‘sanctuary city’ determination to invoke some type of State Of Emergency and allow ICE show up and start grabbing people without local officials being able to do much about it.

Regardless, it’s another distraction for the public and more cases to keep the court system bogged down while he moves on to the next thing scheme.

We’re doomed.

Well, mostly the coastal areas are doomed, and areas that can be reached by modern hurricanes.

Nope, I’ll just say we’re doomed.
