New things in the MMP

I’ve been getting a little chilled stitching because there is a vent overhead, so I ordered a shall which came today. I must have not been using my eyes when I ordered it because it has fringe.

When GG goes down for his afternoon nap I will defringe the shall, that little jerkface would have way too much fun with it otherwise.

@missred why does your drinking vessel have to be clear? I can’t drink out of clear mugs or eat off clear plates. One of my little weirdnesses.

I fried a chicken breast for dinner and even though the a/c is on I opened a window. Then the thunder started, then the rain but I kept the window open, Ursala Kitteh protested when she got wet so I closed the window.

wet one, I can take an opaque one through security, but I can’t bring it out again. Clear can go either way.

My little cavity turned into “damn, that tooth almost broke off at the gum line”. 3 hours later and I’m home feeling bitter. It’s not the dentist’s fault. I’m just in pain and I can’t eat anything for dinner since I’m numb. I’m not really hungry, it’s the principle of the thing.

We went to DHOC, but they didn’t have any raw oysters. They grow them on their own farm, so it might just have been Monday. We split an oyster po’boy and, between the two of us, ate almosthalf of the fries. We both had an 8% ABV IPA because it was named after me (Johnny).

Wifey, RN feels better.

Reasonably decent heave today. And Blueberry the cat said hi to me when I was coming in. So I guess that counts as “new” in my life.

But thank you for releasing it.

Pretty much a large fuzzy version of Fred.

That would make an interesting Nair commercial.

If you pick Rock n’ Roll, you get all three!
And good luck on the job hun, shoe!

I just learned that trump is doing a rally in Prescott Valley this weekend. The freeway from Sky Harbor in the Valley passes the Junction on the way to PV. There is a small hotel and several truck stops at the Junction.

We are pretty much going to be confined to our home from the 14th to the 18th because we want to avoid all the crazies out there.

Which is fine, we are good at being sure we are stocked up for stuff like this. We have plenty of cat fud, beer, weed and a chest freezer full of food. I’m sure we will be fine. (I’ll probably buy a bag of popcorn to eat while reading the traffic reports cause I’m a bitch that way.)

Any thing dental makes me all sorts of crabby and stuff. Just seeing the appointment on my calendar is enough to make me mutter.

I’m glad. Losing that many patients in such a short amount of time must have been hard to process even if she had nothing to do with the cause of death.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

I’m glad. that’s a lot of patients to lose in a short time.

because The Lord somehow ran out of plagues of locusts and frogs…

JtC - you have my sympathies… Living as close to DC as I do, we never had to worry about His Orangeness coming to our little corner of paradise - the locals could go see him in his unnatural habitat. OTOH, we did have to contend with local TV news, since it all came out of DC, but that’s what the clicker is for.

Hot, sunn-filled day ahead. I considered taking the grand out while I futzed in the yard for a bit, but it’s not futzing weather, so we’ll hang inside. FCD didn’t want supper last night - guess what’s for supper tonight! That’ll be easy anyway.

No other excitement on the agenda. Onward!

Happy Tuesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy (partly moony?) with a predicted high of 88 with rain in the afternoon/evenin’. Again, we shall see. It started rainin’ around seven last night and was still at it when we went beddy bye. Thus, 'tis very wet out. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. I can hardly contain myself. Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy. Other than that the usual sloth and general overall uselessness shall prevail.

MOOOOOOM loved the pic of the Tobester feedin’ himself. At his age, all food is finger food.

FlyBoy glad Mrs.LA is feelin’ somewhat better.

Sunny hope you are feelin’ better today.

red I irked in places where all drinkin’ vessels had to be clear. I should make some kind of joke about vodka or 'shine here.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah,

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently 59 degrees and the windows are open to let in the glorious cool air. My husband shut them last night and I came downstairs to a very stuffy house. It’s going to be sunny again and the expected high is 86 degrees. So, a little too warm for me, but since summer has been slow to arrive I’m not going to complain…too much.

So, I had a talk with the SD yesterday and she told me she needed to have some “pointed discussions” with some folks and she’d call me back. I told her I didn’t want to just come to her with a problem and told her if it was truly required, that I would help pack. She flat out told me that wasn’t happening, AND if it turned out she and I went to pack it was going to be a very unhappy day for some people. So a meeting was held, and expectations were made abundantly clear to the Wenatchee staff and the program directors. Since one program director has let his folks slide on the packing and they are now off in Memphis, he will be going to Wenatchee to pack. Everyone must be done on Thursday, which is when I arrive for the punch list inspection at the new location. I will be leaving here at o’dark thirty because I don’t feel like making another overnight trip, especially when I leave again on Sunday for a week-long stay over there.

Still and all, I feel guilty, yet angry at feeling guilty because they brought it on themselves. I tried treat these people like adults, and they acted like spoiled teenagers. Sucks to be them.

I’m sorry about Wifey’s patients, flyboy. I’m glad you were able to cheer her up the other night.

I had a long talk with my boss about some reorganization that will affect me, what was happening with the move, and various other topics. We sometimes get together in our “Vegas Room” and just chat as peers versus employee/boss. It was a good conversation.

Polar finished his infection meds this morning, so all he has to take now is his daily Rymadil. Those meds have worked wonders, his fur is finally coming strong at his surgery site from nearly a year ago. So, now I don’t have to worry about him missing a dosage when I’m out of town next week because the husband sucks at remembering that stuff and is even worse at trying to get Polar to take his meds. I don’t have any issues. I can give him the Rymadil and he chews it up on his own. For the other pills, I just pop them onto the back of his tongue and close his mouth. Easy-peasy.

Have I told you all how much I’m looking forward to vacation? Because I am, mainly because it means I won’t be working.

A sobering sight last evening. My son came over for a visit and dinner, and when he was leaving we accompanied him down to the lobby to see him off. We went over to wait for the elevator and when it arrived, the door opened and there was a half-naked woman inside who said “I need clothes!” She doddered out of the elevator and continued to utter those words as she moved toward the concierge desk. We’re used to seeing people with walkers and wheelchairs here, and occasionally have spoken to folks who aren’t quite swimming in the same pool anymore, but this was the first time seeing someone who really ought to be in full-time care. Very sobering and somewhat shocking to me.

Good Morning all. Need to get out of the house and do a couple things today and pedal the bike to nowhere in the gym, but nothing much else on the agenda. Heading for 95F but there’s a 50-50 chance of rain tomorrow. We’ll see.

Cookie, I feel that; my dad was in a place like yours for awhile and we watched him deteriorate until we had to take him out and move him to full-time care (read: nursing home) and it wasn’t easy to watch. Hope the old lady still has people who care for her.

Taters, No reason to feel guilty at all. You’ve done everything right and if SD comes down on the folks who haven’t followed instructions that’s on them. And good for Polar!

JtC, hope the traffic isn’t too bad; but 4 days?

Love the pictures FCM.

OK, need to find sustenance and be about the day. All y’all take care.

Last night, FCD got a call from his mom - she wants him to go see them in FL in a few weeks. She wants him to tell her how bad he thinks his dad is (plus there’s some financial/estate stuff he needs to be added to.) But his dad was doing stuff like saying he needed to go to Lowe’s to get new handles for the toilets. There’s nothing wrong with theirs and MIL showed him, but a few minutes later, he said the same thing. Then later that day when they out driving, near dusk, he kept turning the headlights off.

I don’t envy FCD this trip - he’s already dreading it. I can’t go with him because of babbysitting. And I really wouldn’t want to go, tho if he asked me, I would. Old age is a real bitch when the mind goes.

Speaking of grands, Tobias is definitely more mobile, and he likes cords, specifically electric cords. So that’s going to be a challenge, He’s napping now, giving me a little break. When he’s been down a bit longer, I’ll get out the vacuum cleaner - the rug where he plays is rather hairy…

FCD is off to the boat to do something. It’s just me and HIggs in the conscious zone at the moment, and I can’t vouch for Higgs.

This place has a full range of services, from zero to very minimal for people like us, to nursing care for people with disabilities, but I don’t think they do live-in care, which that person clearly needs. Luckily, there is 24-hour concierge service, so it would be difficult for someone like that to get out of the building unnoticed. If I hadn’t been so completely startled, I would have taken off my shirt and tried to cover her.

It’s a hazard of caring for elderly, sick people. But three people in two weeks is a lot.

Yes, yes it is.

Happy Toosday!

It was a nice pretty morning at the park. We had a good crowd. Since Barky and Humpy were there, Lucy dad got Echo and took her to the small dog side. Echo luvs Lucy dad, she is all over him. Actually, she may be thanking him. Three hours at the park and both of them are down.

We almost had some drama.
Barky mom yelled at Coco for barking in Lucy2’s face. Never mind that Barky and Humpy were also barking in Lucy2’s face, Coco dad is pretty good about getting Coco under control when she misbehaves, but having Barky mom say something when her dogs are worse?
I saw the look on his face, and he has already warned all of us that he is getting tired of Barky mom running her mouth.
He said something snarky to Barky mom, about how her dogs never bark, but he managed to keep his voice cool.
Then he took Coco over to the small side with Lucy1 and Echo.
Echo and Coco are great friends, so they had a good time together.
I’m glad a lot of newbies are becoming regulars.
One of these days I’m going to start videoing them again. It seems like every time I pull out my phone they stop playing,

Supposed to be hot today, and some thunderboomers this afternoon.
The lawn guy is supposed to come by and finish fixing the fence.
I’m not holding my breath, and since we don’t have Cerby, I’m not all that worried about it. I really need him to check the gutters and downspouts though.
Lawn guy told me he’d be here in 10 minutes over an hour ago. He texted the wrong number, he won’t be here today at all. He needs to slow down, he tries to do too much.

I talked with my mother yesterday and she sounds so bad. Fortunately, she still has no pain. It’s hard to understand her and some of the stuff she says doesn’t make sense. She told me she walked on the treadmill. She wants to build up her strength, but I don’t know how she would have gotten to it as it’s in the basement. She can barely walk across the room, I don’t know how she would have gotten downstairs. I’ll have to see if somebody helped her, if she imagined it, or if she meant she wants to.
She wants to get the new iphone 13, but the others are talking her out of it. I told her if she wants the phone to get it, it’s her damn money and she can spend it however she wants. I get that it’s kind of a waste, but whatever. If it makes her happy. It’s not like she’s buying a Lamborghini or something. But even then, if she can afford it and pay for a driver… it’d be stupid, but it’s her money.

I think if we want to get the whole family together one last time, we’d better be doing it soon.
I need to talk with Niece1, but getting her on the phone is damn near impossible.

I’m trying to get stuff done, and not pull my hair out because irk is so irksome today.

I offered to go to FL with FCD. He needs to decide when, then I need to let my daughter know so she can arrange for a temporary wrangler. I don’t want to go, but he doesn’t need to deal with this alone. So I’ll be nice, dammit.

Gerber has some interesting baby food combinations. Today, lunch was sweet potatoes/mango/kale. Um, yum? I guess so, since he snarfed it all down. At the moment, he’s watching his grandpa eat corn on the cob.
