All I know is when I ordered a pastrami with underdone bacon and Limburger on raisin toast with extra clam dip, I was firmly escorted out to the street.
cm, don’t believe him.
Thursday, I’m there. I’ll try to keep myself suitable for family viewing.

Aw, c’mon, jarbaby, you know I love ya. Why you wanna do me like that?
Right behind home plate…mmm. That’ll be a niiiice view. Blow Brady a kiss from me, willya?

Now what on earth would be the point of that?
So when shall we meet for this all-time first (AFAIK) kosher Dopefest?

Underdone bacon? I’ve never tried it (for obvious reasons), but wouldn’t that be like eating a giant strip of fat?
I could perhaps make it… perhaps. We shall see. I’d have to figure a good place to put a car. Suggestions?

Remember, you are addressing the Man Who Bought Lard.
I would refer to a rasher that was not fried crisp as “underdone” bacon. But the adjective actually made it into my post because I looked at the sentence and decided it needed another adjective.
“Bacon” made it in during the second draft when I got worried that not everyone would understand that the shellfish, plus mixing meat and dairy, would render the dish non-Kosher.
I suffer for my art before you do, you know.
Can a dopefest newbie tag along?
[sub]No you pesky little brat, get lost![/sub]
I see Ike addressed the clearly more important question from GilaB’s post (the nature of underdone bacon).
Now to the very trivial question – what time should we meet? – I propose 6:30 PM. Do we need reservations? And if so, the count as I see it is:
Manhattan
Magdalene
Pucette
Capn’Crude
Sua
OxyMoron
cmkeller
zev
Geobabe
Biggirl
Lux Fiat
GilaB
Maybe:
Grok
Ike
andygirl
Did I leave anyone out?

Park a car? In the City? A HA HA HA HA
Seriously, you can’t take the train? It’d certainly be cheaper than finding a lot to put it in, although you could always try to find street parking.
And of course, I left someone out already – choosybeggar. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
Point taken. I’m just in the habit of driving any time I go,
Investigating options, though, because Ike is a lovely dancer…
stuyguy here. Color me maybe.
If I get the job offer I am preying for early this week, I will certainly make an appearance.
Otherwise, it will be ramen for me.

And what sort of vulture are you planning to be? Sua, Billdo, and I have been lawyers for years, perhaps we can give you pointers.

New Jersey.
Actually, I’m not just being bitchy. I’m assuming you’re coming in from outside the city, so by far the easiest plan would be to drop the car off at a commuter station.
If that’s not possible, and you haven’t a child to sell to pay for parking, then there can be some on-street parking in the 20s between Park and Lex. You’ll be within a decent walking distance of Mendy’s, or of the subway if you don’t feel like walking.
Oxy,
if Maeglin is looking at another law office, “prey” may be the correct spelling.
I am unlikely, not impossible. Same for True Pisces.
Awesome - I can make it there on Thursday or Friday, but not the weekend, because I’ll likely be moving into my new place (Flushing, Queens! Where everyone is either Jewish, Chinese, or both!)
(You ever had kosher chicken-lo-mein? Mmmmm. ;j )
Okay, Thursday the fifth I’ll be shampooing my rug in the afternoon…entertaining guests that night!
So count me out if that’s the evening. Although I’ll sorely regret missing an opportunity to trip the light fantastic with andygirl, who was so like a feather in my arms on that magical night.
