Just want to not-so-stealth brag that I’ll be going to the Eagles/Patriots game this Sunday. In full Eagles regalia. I’m looking forward to the Eagles defense embarrassing Belichick & O’Brien.
There’s going to be some kind of tribute to Tom Brady at halftime as well. Hopefully by then the score will be lopsided enough that the Pats fans will be chanting for Tom’s return to the field. It is kind of odd that they’re having the tribute during a game against one of the 2 teams that beat Brady in the Super Bowl, but I assume the day was planned before the schedule was released.

But seriously, setting the Lions up in the nationally televised Thursday night opener against the defending Super Bowl champs feels like, a kid who is typically a bad swimmer manages to get good enough to swim a few laps in the pool without stopping, so you take him a mile out into the ocean, throw him in, and say “see ya back at shore!”. I hope the Lions don’t embarrass themselves, or worse yet with their luck, have a season-ending injury to a key guy right out of the gate. I have a bad feeling, is all I’m saying.

Not everyone, because I predict* the Jets squeak into the playoffs as a wild card and lose in the first round. Now, that’s objectively a big turnaround from previous years, but only because the bar was so laughably low.
That said, they will finally have a better season than the Patriots after 20-something years…
