NFL 2023: WEEK ONE man leaves!

Ah ha ha hahahaha that was amazing!

This was the best MNF that I can remember watching in forever.

The beginning of the game did not promise this, I’m so glad I stuck with it. A great game indeed.

One could say the Jets “whipped” up an amazing punt return.

I’m not a fan of either team and had no skin in the game. Watching Rodgers get hurt, and watching Josh Allen be both awesome and terrible, and some great defensive plays, and then the crazy ending. This game had everything!

Also, I was shocked that Taylor Rapp is a Bill now. (He was a Husky for UW so I remember him going back to college.)

In the post-game press conference, Jets coach Robert Saleh said that Rodgers is believed to have suffered a significant injury to his Achilles tendon:

The article below contains a photograph of the tackle on which Rodgers suffered the injury, with his left ankle appearing to be bent at an unnatural angle.

That was a great game! Met Life Stadium

But certainly Josh Allen was just off. But the start they showed at the beginning of the game about how he’s tied with Jared Goff for the most turnovers in the last five years was some telling foreshadowing.

It is “J-E-S-T Jest! Jest! Jest!” no more! MetLife Stadium was rocking tonight.

I rewound the telecast to watch the commentary of Peyton and Eli when Rodgers went down. I’ve never seen or heard the two Manning brothers so quiet for so long.

And then Peyton asked, “Who is the backup for the Jets? Richard Todd?”

Pretty funny.

Looks like Mike McDaniel had figured out how to beat the Fangio defense by… Hiring Vic Fangio. Dolphins could be scary this year.

Confirmed that Rodgers is out for the season and perhaps his career.

Jets fans will always have that preseason touchdown pass to warm their hearts.

Oh, my schadenfreude is strong today. Rodgers is a pretentious douche, and there’s no team a Dolphin fan hates more than the Jets.

Really? I thought Dolphin fans hated the Pats more than everybody.

Ignorance fought, once again.

And the wild speculation begins: Who will the Jets bring in as a starter and/of backup? Carson Wentz · Matt Ryan · Joe Flacco · Colt McCoy - Nick Foles -Trevor Siemian

Flacco at least knows some of the personnel though not all the imported Green Bay players. Siemian has experience and a decent QB rating when he played.

Patriot hate is a given. The question is, “other than…”

Brett Favre would like us to know that he’s been staying in shape.

Mine as well. Rodgers out perhaps permanently & perhaps ending his career on the fourth play, and the Jets beating Buffalo (I say this assuming that Buffalo will be better in the long run), were both happy wins.

The Jets should never have wished on that monkey paw.

Options?

I would have preferred to see him repeatedly humiliated and exposed as a selfish player who no longer has the skills to back up his mouth this season. But I’m also not disappointed that the (potentially) last completed pass of his career was to a Lion.

Same, I expected his decline to continue, and would have relished it if it were true. I am always sad to see a player get hurt, though, so as much as I don’t like him, I am bummed for him. Injuries suck.

I do feel that way almost every time, but when a guy is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and has an injury that he’ll very likely eventually recover from to lead a normal life, and he’s also a douchebag, eh…I’m happy for it.
