On the plus side, the Packers may have traded for the best QB on the Titan’s roster…
Whoa! Patriots suffocate the Bengals. Didn’t see that one coming.
Bo Nix playing like a grizzled veteran. Very canny to throw a pick at the 2 yard line so your team can get a safety on a holding penalty in the end zone.
And now he goes 4 and out so his team can recover a muffed punt at the 10. Brilliant.
Myles Garrett would be one of the all time greats and there would be no doubt he was the best defender in they league if he played for a popular and good team. But they have all agreed that o linemen can get away with anything they want against him any play. Just watch him for a few plays and you’ll see what I mean. Dude should draw 40 penalties a game or get 5 sacks.
And then later another safety for the Seahawks, and they just about had a 3rd. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a team suffer two safeties in one half.
I expected a good defensive performance. I didn’t expect competent offence. Nothing spectacular, but pleasantly surprised at competence.
Who would’ve guessed I would miss Browns legend Joe Flacco so much.
Is Deshaun Watson playing as badly as his stats suggest?
Yes, although his O-line is getting destroyed so that’s a mitigating factor, but it doesn’t look like a guy who would be doing well if he could just get some help. He already had a weak arm before, but the shoulder injuries have made it useless. I can’t tell if he’s even trying or he’s just phoning it in. His confidence seems destroyed in any case.
It’s a cliche but this Seattle game was certainly a “tale of two halves”.
The Hawks defense has been consistently solid but both the offensive line and special teams really struggled in the first two quarters (though they scored the only TD of the half with an awesome run in by Geno).
Whatever adjustment they made during halftime seemed to make a big difference as it has been all Seattle so far in the second half.
Game’s not over yet but 26-13 with just over 4 minutes to go, Denver would need a miracle to win.
ETA: Denver just got their first TD but it’s almost the 2 minute warning.
ETA2: And the game is over as Seattle forces Denver to burn their timeouts and gets a first down, and kneels out the clock. Nice for Mike’s first game as a HC to be a win.
Not only that but it’s clear the Browns team is aimless and demoralized on offense. No one likes Watson, they don’t want to play for him, he sucks, literally the only reason he’s being played is the sunk costs and the owner desperately trying to make something out of him to avoid admitting a colossal error. This is a team that has the attitude of a 3-16 squad going into the last game of the season, not a playoff team during game 1.
Put Jameis Winston out there. No reason to play Watson and maybe the team will actually be interested in playing with Jameis.
Apparently some player poll voted Josh Allen the league’s most overrated player and he’s gonna rest his magnificent balls on their heads all season. 4th 2+ passing 2+ rushing TD game, ties Steve Young for best all time.
That’s just dumb, Allen is legit.
He was voted the DPOY last year. I don’t think you can play the “he gets no respect because he’s on the Browns” card.
The Browns have the ugliest uniforms in the league. Maybe in all of professional sports.
I still think the worst are the Steelers throwback uniforms.
Though I’ve heard a lot of hate for the Seattle color rush uniforms.
I actually like those green uniforms, personally.
I liked the Giants throwbacks. Rugby stripes have a classic look that is a nice reminder of the origins of football.
In any case the Post Belichick era has started better than anyone expected.
What was the line at the start of this game?
They might be actually that bad!
Just a reminder. In Survivor, you can’t pick the same team to win each week, but you can pick against a team week after week.
