Live is definitely better. But I’m getting it to watch games I otherwise wouldn’t see at all, so it’s not an issue.
I signed up for the free trial last night, and it works well on my PC (which uses a 40" TV as a monitor), so I’ll keep it. I especially like the condensed games, which allowed me to watch the games I wanted to see from weeks 1 and 2 in just a couple of hours (helped by the fact that I stopped watching when they pulled the starters early). My thanks to the guys who recommended it.
I’m not so heavily invested (pun unintended) in Gamepass. Of course, it helps that I haven’t had a local team other than the Chargers to root for in over two decades. I’m fine with watching compressed games later on, even if I already know the outcomes. It’s more like watching game tape for me, for use in fantasy later on. Think of me as the Cris Collinsworth of fantasy.
And in a completely unrelated topic, could the Bears possibly look any worse? I realize it’s only a preseason game, but it’s the preseason game, and the Chiefs are making them look like a hot mess. There are only so many times I can watch their receivers drop balls.
I’m not saying the Cowboys management is ept and competent, but can you name a team that doesn’t play its starters in the preseason? Brady is suspended for the first four regular season games, and I’m pretty sure he knows the playbook and doesn’t have to compete for the starter position, but even he was out there this week.
Kaepernick figured out a way to keep from getting cut, with his Black Power gesture. Now, the Niners can’t get rid of him without it looking like retribution.
Since NBC won’t be allowed to have Mike Tirico call Thursday Night Football games this year, I guess this is getting him all the experience he can have until Al retires.
