The Browns are so creative in their ability to lose. I am sure I said this before on this board, but my favorite was a number of years ago when they were playing the Ravens, score tied, final seconds of regulation, and they were in field goal range. So they either make the kick and win, or miss and go to OT, either way they are in good shape.
But the Ravens block the kick and run it back for a score. That was option 3 I hadn’t even considered. The team will surprise you!
I turned on the game well into the 1st and said, “There’s something you don’t see every day: 3-2 in the NFL.” I turned it off a few mins later (zzz) but I’m glad to learn what happened. He goes away for good next year, right?
1 1/2 quarters in, and so far this is likely the worst-played game I’ve seen this year (and I’ve seen some doozy Browns games). Philly TE had a 1st down-if he had cut directly upfield vs. getting fancy in a way tight ends usually aren’t capable, didn’t make it, 2 plays later the Eagles are forced to punt…and their punter shanks a 20 yarder.
The Packers opened the game with a 9-play, 5:45 drive…that netted a total of 12 yards. The Eagles responded with a 16-play, 8:46 drive that gained 77 yards…but ended with a fumble. Still 0-0 with 1:54 to play in the first half.
First time in almost two years that an NFL game has been scoreless in the first half. The last such game was 12/10/2023, when the Texans and Jets played to a 0-0 tie at halftime. That game ended with the Jets winning 30-6.
While this is true, they are playing really inconsistently. They keep falling behind in games and have to dig themselves out of a hole week after week; in particular, their offense is getting off to slow starts too often.
Sure, they might be four plays away from being 9-0; had those gone the other way, people would be saying, “that is the ugliest 9-0 I’ve ever seen.”
