The other evening I found myself sitting next to a guy wearing a Steelers shirt. He told me that Pittsburgh would be the surprise team in the AFC this year. I told him that any team with Mitch Trubisky as a starting qb wouldn’t be going anywhere. His argument was that Trubisky wasn’t as bad as his reputation, and that his stats proved it. Nobody does optimism better than a homer trying to find that silver lining. At least the Steelers have their first round QB to look forward to. Hopefully they don’t mess up and try to trot him out too early.
