NFL Week 6 Discussion [Fantasy Football]

How would you rank Rothlisberger, Wallace, and Heath vs Cle?

Also, I’m thinking about trading MJD for either Arian Foster or Jahvid Best…thoughts?

You should probably get this thread renamed the fantasy discussion thread - we’ve had seperate threads about fantasy and the actual games.

Renamed thread title, as it appears to be FF oriented.

It’s a terrible idea by itself. MJD showed himself to be healthy last week, and quite capable of putting up Top 5 numbers. Foster may become a top 5 back as well - but there’s no upside to this trade, only downside. If I had MJD and didn’t feel comfortable (or was willing to take a chance on Foster), I’d pair MJD up with my WR2 and look for an upgrade to a WR1 along with turning MJD into Foster. Even if Foster becomes the top back in the league and MJD settles in at #10, you’ll have done yourself an incredible disservice with this trade by not taking advantage of the market and MJD’s perceived value.

(Edit: I wouldn’t even consider Jahvid Best.)

Foster is the #1 back by a significant bit in FF. You’d definitely be maximizing value, as values currently stand, by getting him for MJD. Not sure if I’d do it - I’d have to check the week by week schedules - but due to health reasons Foster is probably the better deal to take.

No - Foster has scored the most points of all RBs in fantasy. That doesn’t make him the #1 back until the end of the season. You don’t get all the points he previously scored going forward. Now, you can’t base all your rankings on what happened last year, but you can’t also base your rankings solely on only what’s happened *this *year.

Okay, so Mark Clayton was my WR3, but now he’s out for the season. I need to pick up a WR off waivers. Brandon Tate, Danny Amendola, and Kenny Britt are all available. Going forward, who do you like the most?

Amendola. Someone has to catch in St. Louis and Bradford is pretty decent.

I guess Tate has higher upside, but I don’t really know enough about the kid to figure out what sort of role he’ll play.

I like Tate - his role should expand with Moss gone. Though we won’t find out until next week. Any chance you have room for two (Amendola’s a close second), knowing you’ll drop one at the end of next week? (Tate also has the bonus of not having to worry about his bye week.)

12 team PPR league. I trade Aaron Rodgers for Dallas Clark and Brandon Lloyd.

I have no tight end since Finley is hurt. I also have Mark Clayton who is done for the season so I need help at both positions. My other receivers are Larry Fitzgerald (on bye) and Steve Smith of the Panthers, hurt.

I’m probably stuck starting Josh Freeman this week whether or not I do this trade since Rodgers most likely won’t play after the concussion.

The drawback is that is a 3 player keeper league, so I’d be trading away a top keeper QB.

You traded Aaron Rodgers for what? Brandon Lloyd is a fluke. At best, he’s Antonio Bryant; a talented journeyman putting it together for one big season while he’s still got the wheels to do it.

More likely, he’s David Patten: a #4 wideout who is posting #1 numbers thanks to very good quarterback play and the luck of the draw.

Clark obviously has real value, but he’s 31, and relies on speed more than any other tight end.

This is the worst trade I’ve seen someone seriously consider for a long time. Go pick up Marcedes Lewis and Robert Meachem and prepare to suck for a week.

Yet another team’s fantasy stars decimated by the Redskins. I’ve been the beneficiary of the pattern in the past (and my opponent this week did have Finley), but now I’m out Rodgers and scrambling for a QB.

The pickings are pretty slim on the WW, and while hoping Rodgers isn’t out for more than a week, I’m making room for Josh Freeman, having decided on him over Mark Sanchez. Shaun Hill is available, but I don’t like his match up; and Vince Young is sitting there, but I just don’t trust him. What to do, what to do?

Nope, this trade hasn’t been done, was just proposed to me. The other team has Favre/Vick as QB’s so I can see why he’s looking for an upgrade.

There are a bunch of 3-2 and 2-3 teams in this league and I’m one of the 2-3 teams, so I’d prefer to not go 2-4.

The best TE on waivers is Todd Heap and the best WR is Kenny Britt.

I thought about seeing if he’d throw in Randy Moss instead of Lloyd.

soulmurk, Young has a fabulous matchup this week, and his play this year (aside from that one game) has been terrific. I’ve been growing more and more irritated every week in the He Hate Me league, watching him quietly score 19 while Eli Manning has stunk it up.

dale, in a keeper league, you shouldn’t be trading Rodgers for anything other than another top five player. I’d have to think long and hard about making the trade if the other guy was offering Antonio Gates and Brandon Marshall. For Clark and Lloyd, no way. Not even if he threw in cash. 2-4 is a lot better than 3-10.

Britt has scored in three straight weeks, and that’s less of a fluke than Lloyd’s production. Grab Aaron Hernandez if Lewis is gone; it’s only a matter of time before he starts scoring.

Close QB decision this week. I can start either Eli vs. the Lions, or Brady vs. Baltimore. Eli appears to have the far better matchup and the Giants are hot, but I’m guessing Brady will come out slinging to 1) prove the Moss trade won’t slow down their pass offense, and 2) try and get some measure of revenge for last year’s playoff fiasco.

He’s wrong on (1), and I seriously doubt he cares about (2). I always say you play your studs unless the matchup absolutely dictates otherwise, and this matchup dictates otherwise.

Well, in another league, I have to decide what to do with Aaron Rodgers. He’s been cleared to play, but obviously the possibility of a bad game or quick hook exists. I have a strong backup (Philip Rivers) but also an OP slot where Rivers has started every week. So I can essentially replace Rodgers with my best bench player (Hillis, who’s also questionable; Felix Jones, or Lee Evans) or take my chances with Aaron.

I lean towards taking my chances with Aaron.

Need 2 WRs out of Brandon Lloyd vs NYJ, Calvin Johnson (hurt) @NYG, Dwayne Bowe @HOU, Johnny Knox vs SEA, Danny Amendola vs SD.

Lloyd has the toughest matchup, but he’s the leading receiver in the league and no one has started him yet, always expecting him to revert to being horrible at any moment. Revis is hurt, but Cromartie is looking very good.

Calvin Johnson, if healthy, would merit starting, but I guess his right shoulder is banged up bad. And the Giants are very stingy against WRs.

Knox and Bowe have good matchups - those Ds give up lots of points to WRs.

Do I start Hillis (hurt, crap rookie QB, pittsburgh defense) or Ronnie Brown (underperformed all year) or Thomas Jones (Charles getting better share of carries lately)?

I want my Dwayne Bowe from last season back!
