Went outside, got the gears, replaced good with the rusty, put the good one inside, got the new key…where the fuck does it go? I’ve unlocked everything I can see…
(And I never did figure out what number the hexagon was, I just did trial and error until I got it.
Have a look around the hallway/tunnel that leads outside. The hexagon number was on the hexagonal part of the windmill. It had to be rotating and you had to climb to the top of the ladder and look up to see it.
Well I’ve tried the doll’s head key in every keyhole I know of: the drawer above the cupboard with the combination lock, the middle drawer below the bowl of fruit, and the wooden (?) box with the green gem on its lid. I thought the round doll’s head referred to the shape of the surrounds of the keyhole (as it did for the hexagon-headed key and the lock for the wine cupboard), but both the drawers mentioned above have round keyhole surrounds yet the key works in neither. So either I have an interface problem or more likely I’m missing something blindingly obvious, as happens so often to me in games like this!

There’s a desk with the map on it. You’re looking at it when you start the game. There are two drawers. The one on the right lacks a handle. The dolls head becomes the handle.
Halp. I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong or there is a bug…
I found gem and used box to read formula: key = triangle + square x circle. Numbers are: triangle 25, square 35 and circle 46. So i thought that it gives 2760. Nice four digit number. Just right for that four digit code lock. But entering that number does… nothing. Just tell me if it’s supposed to work as I think or there is other solution.
I had that problem too. But as it turns out, your inventory isn’t anything you put into an invisible bag or something; it’s as if you’re carrying the whole thing out in the open in your arms.
I have three colored tokens with roman numerals on the back, and the monkey doll that fits into the left footprints on a strange box, but doesn’t if the head is removed. I have the drawing of the token dispenser, with four colored circles, which may or may not refer to the colored tokens. (I’ve only found three so far.) And I realize by now that the right wall hanging is a diagram of the room. Unfortunately, I’ve been literally going round and round in circles unable to get the next step. Is there a next step or am I stuck in this room forever?
