Nick is Home ! (Sucking In Puppy Breath)

I got my new Gordon Setter puppy Nick home yesterday . He is a complete joy ! At 9 weeks old , he already sits and downs on command , and goes right to the back door when he needs to potty . He and my year old Wild Child Kharma get alone beautifully , she plays very nicely with him , and he tries to nurse on her … she not only ALLOWS it , she rolls on her back and ENCOURAGES it . I am now calling her Mrs. Robinson .

The only downer about the trip was getting caught in a speed trap and getting a speeding ticket to the tune of $141 . The speed dropped suddenly from 65 to 55 … I had my cruise set at 70 , and was watching direction to the puppy’s breeder’s house , missed the drop in speed , and a trooper was waiting riiiiiight there . Never mind that I was being passed like I was standing still by people with Virginia plates , and he didn’t stop THEM … had to stop the Hoosier girl tho . First words out of his mouth were , “Oh what a BEAUTIFUL dog (Kharma was in the back seat)” , and the next were “Are you just passing through here ?” sigh

Anyway … here is the obligatory puppy picture of Nick with 2 of his brothers . He is the one on the far right .

PapSett - That’s just freaky! My other cat (as you’ll recall, my Siamese is Papi) is named Nick. Now let me give you the rest of their names just so you don’t go out and duplicate everybody else. The doberman is Grace, the standard poodle is Maggie, the malamute is Wolf, the wolfhound mix is Fiona and the horse is Irish (registered as Donnybrook Lad). Fiona was struck in the face by a rattlesnake this weekend.

Your new boy is beautiful! Look at that sober, serious look. Congrats.

I hope Fiona is doing OK after that nasty experience . Poor girl !

I will try to avoid your names ! The rest of my crew are Papillons Jay & Cricket , Gordon Kharma , and kitties Ruby & Charlie . I won’t be adding anyone else for a good long while .

Really .

Nick’s registered name is Stonemist Nick of Time , BTW .

Precious angel!!! Give him a big old smoochie right between the eyes from Auntie Archergal, doglover.

Pappy, they are just adorable! I want one!
I wish I could have a dog but I live in an apartment that dosen’t allow them.

Aw PapSett, what a darlin’! Too bad about the ticket, but you have puppy breath at home with you now! Glad that the gang is welcoming him, and btw, I have a Niki, too! Impressive that he is well on his way to being a trained dog, the best of luck, and keep us posted!
