LOL, I do already know Arizona is weird, but I hadn’t heard about this Preference election caper. That’s hilarious!
I remember doing crossover voting in primaries clear back in the early 80s and have done it once or twice since then, although I confess that registering as a Republican, even if only temporarily, always made me take a shower afterward. (I was independent until I moved to Oregon. Since our primaries are closed, I finally registered as a Dem.)
As Og is my witness, I’ve never understood the continued enthusiasm for this, especially knowing as you pointed out she doesn’t want it. Or maybe it’s because we know that, so there will never be a disappointment?
But that would be a subject for another thread.
[/sidetrack I promise]
I wonder if part of the continued enthusiasm is, well, the continued enthusiasm; if I see that she polls well, and other candidates don’t poll nearly as well, that’s likely to impress me…

I’m trying to think like one of my Republican relatives. Haley must be thinking of foreign policy, right? I’m hard-pressed to think of any major domestic problems that originated since 2021. I saw some crack-headed survey today that said respondents thought we’re in a recession but according to my math that complaint is bogus.
Haley has some knowledge but she would never get a word edgewise with Trump. It must be hard to for to talk with him at all. If I were her, I’d ditch him for someone more humble and less molting in slime - not that I could pick out a candidate.
I’m going to have to stop being surprised that Republicans are so spineless. This is a man who called her bird brain and mocked her for or husband’s absence while he was deployed and she’s still going to vote for him?
They all fall in line because they think their voters believe the anti-Biden bullshit they’ve been fed for 4 years. And they’re probably right. If Biden was half as bad as they say, they’d have no choice. But, of course, he’s not. He’s doing a fine job.
