Got my EOB for the cardiac ablation. A little over $103,000! I read the itemized claim. YOIKS. Fortunately I don’t have to pay anything. Medicare and the supplemental BC/BS have covered it all. It’s an obscene amount of money.
Just FYI, the Cracker Barrel in Roanoke Rapids is very unimpressive. But we’re fed, so there’s that.
We’ll be spending the night in Santee, SC. One room. It should be interesting…
And, yes, we meet with the realtor on Sat and escape in the dark of Sunday morning. Counting the minutes…
Did you have the cheesy hash browns and grilled catfish? That’s my usual order. Oh, and green beans.
Howdy Y’all! I did all the adult things and then devoted the rest of the day to sloth, nappage, general overall uselessness and day drinkin’. Well, I did make sup which got et a little bit ago and OYKW spiffed the kitchen. Now we return to our regular scheduled sloth.
WetOne yikes, but yay for good insurance.
Suze I know we have a nick for you, but it escapes me. Hope the wife is feelin’ better soonest. Hip pain and car rides do not mix well together.
MOOOOOOM hope y’all can sleep tonight. FYI Cracker Barrel is at best meh for me. I can do pretty much all their bill of fare better.
My lovely wife’s hip problem is new, caused by too much tme driving while her mother was in months-long medical crisis. It’s bad enough that she can’t ride an hour in the car without pain.
At 6.5 hours out from vaxxes, no pain, swelling, or redness. I feel a bit dragged out, so now I’ll sleep.
We’re in SC. Gonna stop in about 90 minutes. Tahred!
This, too, shall pass.
Supposed to get down into the 40’s tonight. Guess I oughta pull the AC out of the window.
You’re making me hungry for Filipino food cookie.
Feel better soonest BooFae!
Have a good rest of the trip Mooooooom. Hope the sickies stops with RoxStar.
Give Polar some skritches from me taters.
Irked, dogparked (Nelson got to hang out with his old buddy Jersey and I got to visit with Jersey’s mom Ruth), et and am kicking back.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Amazing the way you get so tired after driving, even if all you’ve been doing is sitting all day.
Not much of a story – got pushed down a slide at school during recess, because the kid behind me thought I was moving too slowly. Went down crossways, feet hanging over one side and upper body hanging over the other. Fractured both wrists when I hit the ground.
The last time I did Cracker Barrel it sucked. I had always thought it was good before that.
Had a good rain just in time to prevent spending an hour watering.
I had 4 pods of okra from my plants. I boiled it right up. Was good just not enough of it. Still getting tons of cherry tomatoes. Made a salad with all homegrown veggies the other day. Lettuce is now petered out.
Going to plant a fall garden soon. It’s still too hot now.
Stay well everyone.
Walked to the beach and had awesome Thai food (orange chicken, Ba Mee Nahm, green milk tea and a mango smoothie).
While at the beach we saw a sea kayaker. As we’re close to the King/Snohomish border, I think we’re out of Flyboy’s range.
Glad to see so many have already gotten their bivalent booster and flu shot. Let’s kick Covid to the curb!
Speaking of curbs, today the trash, recycling and compost got picked up. I wouldn’t want to accidentally get caught by the claw that picks up and empties the bins.

I think we’re out of Flyboy’s range.
Yes. We’re up by the Canadian border.
Buttercup, it’s lovely when the summer garden produces up to when the fall garden can go in.
I’m sorry for all y’all dealing with the heat and fires. I just had to throw on a flannel shirt, cuz it’s chilly. Supposed to be up over 80 again on saturday. This weather is weird, and annoying.
Mrs. L.A. has been using the heater in the catio. She needs to pick up a couple of tanks of propane tomorrow. I want to hold off lighting the pilot light on the propane furnace until the Autumnal Equinox.

FYI Cracker Barrel is at best meh for me. I can do pretty much all their bill of fare better.
So can I, tho their broccoli is usually really good. Not at that location. And they were not serving the hashbrown casserole. And the pancakes were weird. We’ve never had such a disappointing meal at CB.
We’re in the hotel in Santee. I don’t like having the inlaws as roommates, but it’s just one night. We hope to be on the road by 7 and we’ve got about 5 hours to go.
Here’s hoping we can sleep…
Every single time I shower, my MIL says “Are you done already?” because it should take longer than 10 minutes to get clean, I guess. It’s difficult not to snark back at her.
Similarly, she always tells me I need to move my laundry room upstairs because stairs. Makes me crazy. C’mon, Sunday!
I had the leftover ground beef & broccoli, w/cheese and mayo and catsup for dinner. The Spousal Unit hasn’t had dinner, but she got a jug of popcorn kernels in the mail today.
Walked to the garden store and got potting soil. I was so tired afterward, I was tempted to skip the gym. I don’t know why. Four miles shouldn’t have wiped me out like that. I did go to the gym but only did 500 calories. I’m thinking of taking a hot bath with epsom salts.
Not a fan of Cracker Barrel, though I’ve only been once. I had a BLT that was the epitome of meh. If you’re wondering how a BLT could be sub-par, the bread was like second-rate Wonder bread. I can’t recall what my sister had, but she was unimpressed, too, and we’re not very finicky about restaurant food.

I wouldn’t want to accidentally get caught by the claw that picks up and empties the bins.
Do you not have those back home? They’re REALLY noisy, aren’t they?
flyboy and taters and whoever else lives in WA state, what’s the COVID booster availability like by you? My son lives in Seattle, and like here, the supply isn’t keeping pace with demand.
FCM, hope nobody snores.
