No one has anything to say for an MMP?

Cracker Barrel originated in the last town that I lived in and is still where their corporate headquarters is. That said, I learned long abo that their breakfasts are overrated (waaaaaaaaaay too many carbs and not many of them the yummy kind). I like their hashbrown casserole once in a while and when I go up to Dad’s in cooler weather (when I can leave Nelson in the car for a half hour), I stop for a main dish salad at the one in Columbus, IN. If I’m eating there otherwise, it’s because I’m meeting someone there at their suggestion.

I’m a Bob Evans girl, but there aren’t any around here.

We have dumpsters, which have two wranglers and one driver. The grabber here just has the driver/operator.

Just tried Walgreens and they have appointments starting September 30th (using my parents birth year), which is only 2 weeks out - not bad. The Bartels near us had a sign that walk-in Covid vaccines are available, but that might be just for the primary doses, not the new vaccine. The website says beginning of October, so a bit further out, and also mentions there’s a possibility of getting a walk-in vaccination, subject to availability.

In other news, I had my first root beer float in a long time. I think I‘m going to have to do a sugar detox after I get home. Did I mention having both Krispy Kreme and Top Pot doughnuts?

Tomorrow I‘ll have raisin English muffins with peanut butter. That’s healthy, right?

I liked Bob’s till they switched from Coke to Pepsi.

I got dose #4 in June. I haven’t looked into the latest booster yet.

Evening all. Soccer has been coached and nappage taken beforehand. One of the parents forgot about her kid, so my cellphone finally came in useful (she was at a dance group, probably for another kid, and just got her times mixed up, I never leave anyway until all the kids are accounted for). Then fixed dinner and found out thanks to Amazon Prime I could watch NFL tackleball and the newest episode of The Grand Tour (three Englishmen do silly things in cars in wonderous places, in this case Northern Scandinavia) at the same time.

As for Cracker Barrel, I used to visit it every couple of months for their chopped steak dinner, but as others have said, it has become so Meh that I’m trying out other places…the City Cafe is good, but it’s 16 ounces of chopped steak, which is way too much. So something else will be tried next.

Dicey, now you got me wanting to go to Krispy Kreme this weekend. Don’t think I’ve ever had a Top Pot doughnut.

FCM, safe travels tomorrow, presume you’re asleep by now.

nellie, also did 500 calories, I wonder if you sweat as much as I do (the shirts I wear go immediately into the laundry, soaked in sweat).

SCAian, managed to break my left wrist on a sliding board, in my case it was self-inflicted as I was chasing someone up and down the board and didn;t get myself set, so I fell off. Guess I was about 7 years old at the time.

wet one, I really don’t know how people without insurance survive such costs; I’ve been lucky not to have too many bills, but between Medicare and Blue Cross I should be OK when things start breaking down.

OK, it’s approaching Firday here so I best be off to bed. All y’all take care.

Former military Mumpers, I have a question for you: What’s a really big, really LOUD helicopter that might be flown near a military base? Some evenings–and tonight was one–a huge, loud chopper that sounds like it’s very low (Glad I don’t live on the top floor!) flies overhead. It sounds like it’s going to crash behind my building, but of course it doesn’t. It’s always at night, too. Not asking for military secrets. Just curious.

Dicey, I’ve never heard of a Top Pot doughnut. Am I missing something wonderful?

Red, when I was a kid, the closest McDonald’s was across from their corporate headquarters. The restaurant was always crawling with suits. I couldn’t figure out why everyone griped about how bad McDonald’s was. Then I went away to college…ohhh. So was the Cracker Barrel near their HQ better than others?

Yep. I can only shower once I completely cool down, though, or I keep sweating afterward. The walk home helps. Nothing feels better than stepping out of a refreshing shower after a workout! Well, OK, maybe ONE thing feels better, but it’s why people take cold showers.

Off to bed. G’night, all.

That’s our metal mouse!

Done with the event monitor, so I no longer have electronics attached to my chest. One of tomorrow’s errands is taking it to UPS to be shipped back. Then I need to shop for another laptop. Mine has developed serious problems, and trying to type on a tablet or phone drives me up the wall.

I do have a ride to my appointment, but there were scheduling issues with the return trip, so I’ll be Lyfting around tomorrow.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Loud: AH-64 Apache
Extremely loud: CH-53 Sea Stallion
Also loud, but not a chopper: V-22 Osprey tiltrotor
Which base do you live by? I could give a better guess on which one.
-dogbutler, not ex-military, just an aviation geek.

Awake and dressed at 5 after sorta sleeping. I swear, FIL went to the bathroom at least 5 times! Normally, I wouldn’t even notice, but with his unsteadiness, I worried about him falling. Plus the ac unit in this room is LOUD!!

The alarm is set for 6 and we’ll have whatever breakfast they offer, then gas up and go. Hoping to hit Ocala between noon and 1, so a relatively short drive.

This Best Western is nice and the accessible room is especially nice. So there’s that.

Onward! Happy Firday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 86 and N.O.S. for the day. Mowage might get accomplished today. Or not. Mayhaps I shall have motivation later this mornin’. Sup shall be ham steak, green beans, mac 'n cheese, and rolls. Tasty and easy to make.

MOOOOOOM have a safe rest of the trip to Flahrduh.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah,

Happy Firday Y’all!

Good luck wirh the home stretch!

Me neither.

Please never leave us. You have the most impressive way with words!

Went to bed feeling crappy, slept 10 hours, and feel pretty good this morning. The covid arm is sore and I have a residual headache, but otherwise pretty good.

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently 53 degrees with an expected high of 65 and cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. I guess the rain prediction was a tease. At any rate, I got the lawn mowed yesterday after work, so I will water it today.

I’m off today but have tons to do. I also need to check in on some work stuff. I wish I could just take a day off and NOT check on work-related stuff, but I have a due out for today, and of course, I received little cooperation in getting the required data.

nellie, which military installation do you live near? I live near a municipal airport and the joint base is in my county, so I get a mix of choppers flying overhead. Some are definitely loud. As to the COVD booster availability, I couldn’t really tell you. The husband and I were due for another booster this summer and we haven’t gotten around to it. I was just so busy with work, I kept forgetting to schedule it and by my vacation, it completely slipped my mind. I need to get on the stick, that’s for sure. I get mine through Kaiser.

Glad you’re feeling better this morning, cookie.

Keeping my fingers crossed that both today and tomorrow pass quickly for you, FCM. I know you are both craving some peace and quiet. It sounds like you both need a break…from everything!

Today is my husband’s birthday. This will be his last year in the fifth decade. Time flies.

Well, I should finish my coffee and get on with my day. I don’t want to have to do anything tomorrow but prep the birthday dinner.

nellie you grew up in Oak Brook IL?

Allergies have been horrible and to top it off I had my allergy shots yesterday. I think I’ll be living on Benadryl for a day or so. My only plans today are the chiro and the gym and Target.

I have had no potato chips for 3 days, I feel like a member of CA. Chips Anonymous.

Morning all. Pill taken and paper retrieved, 74F heading for 86 and no rain, same conditions for tomorrow, so probably will have to water the lawn Sunday. Also need to do laundry and run the dishwasher, so that water bill credit I have will get a workout. Missed my swimmin’ on Wednesday so need to get there today.

nellie, same as others, all the military services have different helicopters, so Army, Navy, or Air Force installation? My guess would be the CH-47 Chinook (that’s the double-bladed one, but all the guesses are possible. You’ll just have to eyeball it for us one of these days.

wet one, I no longer buy potato chips for the house, because I have no willpower around them. Only time I do is at the Super Bowl and a small bag with my Sub sammich each week. Hope the allergies settle down.

FCM, safe travels today.

Looked up Top Pot donuts, they are apparently a Seattle thing with a couple Texas stores, but look appealing.

Wish I could claim something extraordinary, but it’s one of the tenets of the AYSO, so all coaches are mandated to do so. Not that I wouldn’t do it anyway.

OK, need to be thinking about sustenance and planning out the rest of the day. All y’all take care.

Sunny, wishing you a speedy recovery!

Nellie, I hope you find a good solution for the contact lens debacle. It stinks when a good thing gets discontinued/drops off the face of the earth. I hope you can come out of your blur soon.

Everyone is feeling better and back at school, which is delightful. Now that we seem to be out of danger of developing plague for now, the husband and I are getting booster #2 today.

Tangent: It never ceases to amaze me how, when you’ve lived with someone for so long, your arguments turn really stupid, but predictable. Last night’s dramatic argument about dryer sheets was kind of impressively silly, though.

His delivery was poor. My response was immature. Is it me or is half of any long-term relationship learning how to argue well? Oh, well. We’ll circle each other for 24 hours and get back to the work in progress.

I’m so happy it’s Friday. I could use a nap and it isn’t even 9 a.m.

nellie, the HQ Cracker Barrel is only marginally better than most of the others that I’ve been to. Biggest difference, like Mickey D’s HQ store, there are more suits eating there.

Hope that the rest of your trip continues to be smooth Mooooooom.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, shot (allergies) and fixing to do Friday chores. Not much shaking this weekend, but there will likely be another trip or two to the dog park.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!
