Shane, I can’t believe how stupid you are. Lola the Armenian is now going to kill Mackey’s wife and kids, you slime. Looks like in the previews for next week that Shane actually tries to get them out of harm’s way after being ordered to kill them.
LOVED how Mackey got his “get out of trouble free” card - for a while I was waiting to see the picture again, but then I forgot about it, and now it shows up. Can’t wait for Acevedo to see that again.
Also loved how Dutch Boy’s partner got over on him. Poor Dutch Boy.
I’m glad you started a thread, because I want to know about the photo. Is this the first time we knew there was a photo? Does Aceveda know there’s a photo? Did the guy with the photo make it happen, so he could use it against him later?
Is this the final season?
We didn’t have the FX network for awhile, so my Shield viewing has been sporadic.
Am I a bad citizen because I want Mackey to keep his job?
In an earlier season, Acevedo was forced at gunpoint to blow that guy. He spent the rest of the season trying to find the guy and destroy the cell phone that had the photo on it. He finally got the guy and told him that he’d have him killed in prison if the photo ever got out. You thought Mackey would find it eventually, but they dropped it after awhile, leading you to believe that Acevedo got away without anyone finding out. Last night was the first time it had resurfaced since. (It actually wound up causing sex problems for him and his wife and he eventually broke down and told her about it, went to counseling, etc).
One more after this.
I am too then. It’s a credit to Chiklis that you find yourself rooting for him.
I should not have opened the thread, but I couldn’t help myself. I watched this morning before work, but only got to the point where Dutch arrives at Tina’s house with a bottle of wine - so I have about 15-20 minutes to go.
Claudette, Dutch, and Julian are the best cops in the Barn. Vic taints them all. Shane does, too, but everyone realizes that he rode the short bus to school. He’s a mean poodle that thinks it’s a doberman.
Big plus is how little air time Sgt. whatsherface’s baby storyline is getting.
Finally watched it yesterday. Shane really is a moron that thinks he’s slick. A few seasons ago with Antoine I was glad Vic saved his ass. Now I hope Vic finally puts an end to him.
You know what? Given the way The Shield always seems to surprise me with the way they resolve things, here’s what’s gonna happen over the rest of the life of this show:
I still think Claudette dies. They’ve started callbacks with all the plot lines that were dropped - so I think she dies from whatever disease it was that was making her faint. Honestly, I forgot if what she has.
Shane’s gonna kill Vic and Ronnie and get away with it. In the process, he’s going to get Aceveda’s picture and blackmail him into getting control of the strike team. Then he’s going to get with that Armenian mob-siren and become the head of the Armenian mob. The last shot of the show will be Armenians kissing Shane’s ring and calling him Godfather.
… Then after the credits, we see Shane get killed by Tavon. Who says, “I remember now Shane. I remember.” (Too Departed?)
Also, given that the new guy on the strike team and Tina hooked up, I can see Danny and Dutch bumping uglies before the season is out, and finding true love! They both quit the force after Claudette’s death and settle in together. Dutch wants to open an animal shelter specializing in cats.
We’re all gonna be left stunned, I hope. That’s the best part of this show.
Honestly, I stopped making real predictions about this show a long time ago, because the writers always seem to throw me. Off the top of my head, recent examples: I never thought they would kill off Lem, and I never thought they would have Kavanaugh just give up in a sort of anticlimax.
It really is what I love about the show. But you caught me on the predictions, they were highly tongue-in-cheek.
