No thread on this year's Lay's potato chip flavors?

I’m trying to lay off (sic) the chips but I did have the opportunity to try the tikka masala and tzaziki chips and they were both pretty good. Discuss.

I thought the Gyro flavor chips from last year were better than this year’s Tzatziki flavor ones. I have also tried the Szechuan Chinese Chicken flavor. I liked those, they were spicy and nailed the oriental taste.

I have yet to try the other two.

We tried the Tikka Masala flavor. It was surprising ly good. They had gotten the flavor right, but it’s just disconcerting for said flavor to come in chip form.

I liked most of them.

The Schezuan Chicken was my favorite. Had a nice meaty note.

I liked the Tikka Masala, although it didn’t taste like any Tikka Masala I’ve ever had but it was tasty nonetheless.

The Chimichurri was alright, not my favorite but not bad.

The Tzatziki was probably the closest to it’s actual flavor. However, I don’t like Tzatziki, so I thought it was pretty terrible

Of the two I’ve had, the Chimichurri one is okay, but nothing special. On the other hand, the Szechuan Chicken one has really good spicing with hints of ginger, soy and chicken and even the little tingle from Szechuan pepper.

Agreed. I also thought this was the only one worth having again.

Thirded. The Tikka Masala is by far the best.

The Tzatziki ones taste to me like sour cream and onion with a hint of cucumber. The Szechuan chicken ones taste correct like takeout, but it’s not a particularly good potato chip flavor. Same thing for the Picanha ones.

Don’t you people know that potato chip overproduction is rendering the planet uninhabitable for a majority of its occupants?

It’s not overproduction if we eat them!

My daughter brought home the Szechuan Chicken and Tikka Masala flavors, but she didn’t like them. I finished both bags over the course of several days, and I could take them or leave them. One problem I have is that I just don’t care for so-called “kettle-fried” potato chips. They’re like the Cap’n Crunch of potato chips to me.

I was also taken by surprise and a little disappointed that we weren’t offered a million dollars to submit our own suggestions. Especially since I just KNOW that the one I want to submit is a guaranteed winner.

Tuna casserole.

Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch flavored potato chips. Someone get on that.

Should I bill you directly for cleaning up the vomit produced when I read that?

Wouldn’t that just be peanut butter flavor?

Shhh… don’t tell Amateur Barbarian. He’ll come in and tell us that we should have ONE flavor of chips by one manufacturer and be thankful for that while we walk uphill through the snow in our leaky boots.

Would YOU mistake Peanut Butter Cap’N Crunch for plain peanut butter?

Still waiting for the Chicago cheese and caramel chips.

I tried all but the tzaztiki and liked them well enough. The Szechuan Chicken were the best and really do have a carryout-ish flavor. The chimmichuri chips were fairly forgettable. Tikki masala earned a B+ grade.

What? Potato chips are a standard ingredient.

I’m with yellowjacketcoder on that. Meanwhile, the cheese and caramel chips do sound like they could be good!

Philistines. Can’t even appreciate a properly-made tuna casserole.

I bought all four flavors but haven’t tried them yet as I had to finish up an open bag of something else first.
