Happy Saturday!

Right now it is beautiful outside, a N.O.S. 66 degrees. Later I’ll have to close the windows ans turn on the AC.

I woke up too early so am feeling a bit of a blurf.

I ordered groceries this morning and we’ll be picking them up in a bit. We’ll get some mulch too so we can finish mulching out front. Then it is back to irk.

My mother was lucky when she was a supervisor, her assistant loved to fire people so she could pass that job off to him. He had no sympathy for slackers, if you weren’t going to do the job he’d find somebody else who would.
I knew another supervisor who said you are doing poor employees a favor by firing them because that sets them free to find another job that is better fit, and you are freeing up a position for somebody else who needs a job - win/win all the way around.
She is the one who also told me people will spend 90% of their time helping the bottom 10% of their employees, when everybody would be better off if you just cut them loose and use your time to help your top employees become better.

So look at it that way Butters. Less aggravation for you, a chance for her to find a job better suited to her, and better office morale because the good workers aren’t having to deal with a slacker.

Mulchage is done. At least the garden mulchage is done. There’s more I’d like to get done, but not today. Once I cool down a bit, I’ll hit the shower, then look for sunscreen. I may have to run to the dollar store to get some.

Time to rest up for an afternoon of partying!! WOOHOO!!

That’s how Samantha says hello. Speaking of, she turned into Serena last night and unraveled a whole ball of yarn. I yelled at Tabitha for it until I caught Serena trying to do it with another ball.

I gave the remains of my sandwich to the dogs and cat. The cat likes* horseradish.*

Howdy Y’all! Home from fetchin’ playground equipment. It’s on the church grounds. I’ll let others figure out what to do with it from this point. I did my duty. We’ve had McBizkits and all is good. I have prepped stuff for dindin as well. Now I shall chillax a bit and then head out for some quality time at the cee-mint pond.

We shall be leaving shortly. PARTY ON!!!

I found sunscreen, so no trip to the dollar store. I do need to decide which hat to wear - my eye doc said I should keep my eyes shaded.

Have fun Moooom!

I can definitely tell the difference between coke zero and diet coke. Like bat boy, I find diet coke pretty flavorless. If I’m drinking diet cola, it’s usually coke zero or diet pepsi. I always liked Tab and kind of miss it. I’m more apt to order unsweet tea when I make a drink stop.

My preferred is vanilla Coke, though I like regular just fine. Diet Coke I find gross, and I’ve never tried Coke Zero. Coke Life is ok, I get it sometimes to try to cut out some calories. Pepsi is a nastiness I won’t touch.

I don’t really drink any soda, after my securitatin’ job, where every bar gave me free cokes. Wasn’t a massive fan of it before that, but I got totally sick of it then. I occasionally buy Fentimans cola, come to think of it, but that’s about it. I have cut my formerly spectacular caffeine addiction down to one coffee a day with breakfast.

I’ve now worked a few shifts with the new chef at irk. I wasn’t sure about him at first, but now I am- he’s one of the most annoying humans I’ve ever met.

He. Won’t. Shut. Up.

He bangs things, he tunelessly sings along to the radio (which he’s moved to right next to my ear), he whistles, but mostly, he just talks. Not to anyone, just talks. Half of what he says (or at least half of what I couldn’t tune out) is just plain stupid and/or nasty; most memorably for me today, he spent about 10 expletive laden minutes wittering on about how much he hates vegetarians (triggered apparently by one of the nicer regulars ordering a vegetarian dish), even after I (the only other person in the kitchen) pointed out to him that I was vegetarian, which I’ve already told him and been sniffed at for, and I’d really like him to stop talking now.

He’s already complaining about how boooooring it is working there. Plus he keeps taking the mickey out of the boss’s accent (pretending not to understand him, and repeating stuff back in a silly voice), and several times pointlessly insulted regulars borderline loud enough for them to hear. Just no filter between brain and mouth at all.

I know the boss is pretty fed up with him as well, so hopefully he won’t last. I’m working with just him for most of tomorrow. I’ve promised the boss (who has calmed down substantially lately incidentally, being OK to irk with again) that I won’t punch the guy.

At least, not inside the cafe.

I have permission to punch him in the street.

I now have the giant bottle of Tecnu soap so I can do laundry. Now it’s MST3KTR time!

Howdy Y’all! In from quality time at the cee-mint pond and all showered. Dindin prep is commencin’. Life is good.

Blurf. I have potatoes baking for steak night. And the usual cleaning and laundry that needs doing. Such is my life.

Home from the picnic and it was really nice. I chatted with a bunch of people, my deviled eggs were inhaled, I had some crabs ( just 4 - I didn’t want to be a piggy ) and I was released from my volunteer duty on the grill after 10 minutes since there was just no demand. So I grabbed some dessert (OMG, THE DESSERTS!!!) and then we left. I need another shower - it was hot out, and I’m sticky from the sunscreen.

And I came home to an amazing surprise - a bonus check from the prez of the company! When **FCD **was opening it for me (since I was parking the car) I guessed it was a pink slip. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nope. Money. Wow. It’s been a good day for sure.

Hey, watch it there!!!

Back from refereeing, only one game today and I worked it to ‘keep my eye in’ for next weekend’s tournament in Knoxville. Dishes got washed while I was out. Outside of that nothing much happening.

FCM, sounds like it was a good day, for both belly and billfold.

Nut, hang in their. There are good people to work with and for out there, but you also have to put up with the idiots…they are in all places and in all types of work. And nix on the violence, the police frown upon such things…

I am so sick now. I had a relapse of the intestinal disease. I have a fever of 104. I’m thinking if I can’t get this under control I will have to go to ER again. :frowning:

Yay for bonus Moommm.

Yay for boss improving Nuts.

Dindin has been et, the dishwasher is dish washin’, and everyone has gone home. I love company both comin’ and goin’.

{{{Sunny}}} feel better soonest.

MOOOOOOM yay for a good day with good food and bonus money!

Nuts boo for co-irker who is, well, nuts, but yay for boss who is improvin’.

Butters yay for steak night. Any night that involves steak is a good night. I’m sure HRH Lucky Louie will agree.

Feel better soon sunny!

I got the second planting of tomatoes in today. I did keep one pepper since there was a bud on it, but chucked the other. I also added two more to the collection. By early autumn, I should have some heirloom beefsteaks, more cherry and romas. Yum.

Now to start supper. Tonight is Puerto Rican chicken and rice and zucchini au gratin.

I got off a little early, hi the sto, and took a nap. Now having some Yuengling, and marinating chicken. I don’t drink diet anything, Mexican Coke is better than American Coke, and Pepsi is nasty.

OJ tastes weird without vodka.

Feel better, Sunny! {{{{}}}}

Nut ,hope the work situation improves.

You’re Jewish, right? Mebbe it’s just angling for some Gefilte fish.

Casper the Friendly Housekeeper?

But I thought Swampy was retired…& lived on this side of the pond.

Now, I’m convinced it is Swampy! (How many times has he posted that exact quote in an MMP?)

I did a 10k this morning - won my age group (Which is more a testament to the small size of the field than my awesome ability - I’m still not fully back from my injury yet). The award was a blue pint glass printed with the event name & “Award winner”. They were also giving a free ice cream cone to all participants; I did not get ice cream because the line was too long & I needed to get home & shower & smell all nice & presentable for graduation party. Therefore, I shall have ice cream using my new pint glass award by making a beer float.

I haz headache; it’s from a combo of (literally) running around today & some part dehydration from the race. Iffn it’s more the first, caffeine will help; but if it’s more the second, caffeine will make it worse. :smack:
That is also why I will make a beer float - no caffeine. (Shhhh, don’t remind me that alcohol is a diuretic.)

I ordered a couple of Hawaiian shirts from Kohls, and they were in the mailbox today. And in my email mailbox was a shipping update: “Invalid address, return to sender.”:dubious:
