**Bumba **- I can’t imagine that the helmets my spousal unit uses regularly when he welds would be insufficient for eclipse viewing. He’s got a “sunburn” right now from when he was welding on Saturday, since he neglected to put on a proper shirt. In any event, I don’t intend to be staring at our partial for all that long.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 90 and a sixty percent chance of tstorms this afternoon. Of course, with the eclipse comin’ that will probably happen. I shall defilthyfy da cave today and hopefully watch the eclipse. I even have the special glasses that are for real designed to view.
Speakin’ of the eclipse, we are in the 92% area, so it won’t be a total eclipse but close enough it’ll still be cool to see. I’m glad I’m not in one of the areas folks have flocked to watch the eclipse. I’m told extreme northeast Jawja which will be in totality is insane with tourists. So I know a few mumpers (hi Sunny) are in the area of totality. Any others in the total or mostly total path? If’n you watch please use all the precautions we’ve been told about.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify a bit and begin cave defilthyfycation. Oh and tonight is men’s night over to the church house so steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’.

According to my phone app it is a N.O.S. 67 degrees outside. According to my window it’s coudy outside. Supposed to get up to 90.
We saved a cereal box to make an eclipse viewer. I also heard if you turn your back to the eclipse and set your camera to selfie mode you can watch the eclispe on your phone.
I may watch part of the eclipse, but I don’t have time to watch the whole thing.
I woke up too early, but I’m up and irking.
This is a busy week for me, lot’s to do.
I’m mostly prepared for the puppy. I got him a squeaky toy that is shaped like and grunts like a pig.
The cat is scared of it. It’s much more effective than spraying water or air.
Still no name for him. I like ChopStyx, but my son said no because it sounds too much like LambChop.
No pesky eclipses here to worry about, our sun’s staying nice and round and behind clouds like normal. Bah, humbug.
Just braved Ikea. It was a madhouse- still school holidays here- but I needed to get a mattress, as well as a few miscellaneous bits, and it seemed more sensible to go while it’s almost within sight of the house rather than wait until it’s a 2.5 hour drive. Especially as the mattress only just fits in my little car, and I don’t fancy carrying up upstairs by myself if I can avoid it.
The rest of the day is gonna be straight up packing, to try and make tomorrow as easy as possible. I’m still sort of dreading it though, especially moving the aquarium.
**sari **- I saw on the news about using the selfie mode to watch the eclipse and I thought it was ingenious! Can’t do it with my phone, but if **FCD **meets me in the parking lot, we can try it with his phone.
Listening to a coworker speculating how the eclipse always seems to coincide with a full moon or a new moon. Um, duh!
OK, I’m getting back to work. After I mention I read that loss of productivity during the eclipse will involved lots of $$$$…
Well, it’s sunny so far in North ali-Bama, and we’re supposed to get about 96% totality. Thought about driving North to Nashville, but the traffic will probably be crazy, so I’ll settle for a 96 out of 100.
Got rosters for two of the three teams I am coaching this fall, but the one I am missing is the one I want to have practice with tonight, so we’ll see what the morning brings.
Got an estimate to paint the new doors/trim of my house…a bit higher than I expected, but still in budget. Now need to get the door people to commit to delivery and installation date(s).
Cloudy and hoomid. Chance of rain. I have my phone to check on the eclipse, but I am at this pesky place called irk so may totally forget. Filet tonight for din-din. I don’t grill so I will do it in the oven. Maybe do a baked tatie…
Soapy thanks for the merge. It’s bad enough that when the sky darkens the pods will descend to consume our souls. Two MMPs on top of that is just way too much!
