Nothing can eclipse the MMP!

Welcome back, Gotti! And congrats on the leather title.

Thanks, gang. Had to irk today (my own fault, neglected to request personal day in a timely manner), way busy, plus pesty panhandler at McD’s. I have tomorrow off. Gotta shop just a little, then goofing off is the main agenda.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 89 (cold snap, brrr!) and mostly N.O.S. We shall deheathenate and then feed JDD’s family. They are comin’ to da cave to eat as that just made more sense plus I do have room enough for around a dozen folks which is about what we expect. Most of the food should get eaten and leftovers will be sent home with JDD and Partner or anybody else who wants some. 'Tis a big ham so I expect there’ll be leftover ham up for grabs for sure.

JDD and Sis are meetin’ with the funeral home this mornin’ to finalize the arrangements. Mr. Frank will be cremated and as is the family custom the service will be graveside. Hopefully this will be on Tuesday but could be Wednesday.

gotti welcome back! Ick on the bad plumbin’/electrical stuff. I do indeed know what you mean about the leather title. How you doin’?

MOOOOOOM glad a good time was had by all at BooFaeFest.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then purtification for deheathenization shall commence. After we deheathenize it’s back to da cave to heat up comestibles and feed the crowd.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Good morning! It’s a gloriously cool 61°, making it a perfect day for mowage, if there is such a thing. :stuck_out_tongue: I may also run a load of towels thru the washer, and I’ll be finishing up another afghan in short order - that’s pretty much my plans for the day. Speaking of afghans, when this one is done, Sunny, I’ll post pics of the 2 I made with the yarn you sent. And there’s still enough for one more! You will have made 3 seniors/veterans very warm and happy!!

gotti!! Welcome back!! Glad you didn’t burn your house down! The first house spousal unit and I bought after we married was an electrical nightmare. Think interior extension cords connected one to another and run various places outside, among other things. Or this house when we decided to replace our circuit breaker box with a better one, and discovered the board on which it was mounted showed several burnt/singed spots! Not too mention far too many circuits hooked to a single breaker. I blame DIY idiocy.

I’m getting ready to send a metric buttload of paperwork to my congressman because OPM has been blowing me off. I found my original email, sent in July, 2015. The most recent was sent in June of this year, and it was ignored, as were the 2 sent before it. They owe me something in the neighborhood of $3K for over 2 years and I am not amused!!! So Steny Hoyer’s staff will take on my fight. Dammit!!!

Oh yeah, Happy Sunday. And safe travels, BooFae!!!

Up, caffeinated , sheveled. Off today. I’m watching the Belgian GP this morning. Cleaning after that.

I’m dressed in grubbies. As soon as **FCD **comes back from a run to WaWa to get us some breakfast, we’ll accomplish mowage. Good times… :stuck_out_tongue:

Drinking a coffee and trying to decide in which order I should try to accomplish the day’s tasks.

Roomie’s brother is staying with us again.

Playing in two bands for the next little while. My main band will be back in session soon.

Welcome back gotti! Congrats on your leather title (and I wasn’t even aware that you were a leather daddy).

Glad y’all had a good time at the goofae fest.

Pretty much chilling today.

Mowage is done - yay! It takes me as long to do the push mowing in the ditches and 2 hills as it takes **FCD **to ride the front yard, the back yard, and the side yard. And I do the push mowing by choice because I’m not the one who’s had 8 spinal surgeries and a knee surgery. I don’t want him on the hills or in the ditches.

I’ve got a load of towels in the washer, and another standing by. With all the work **FCD **has been doing in his shop, he’s used a lot of towels as sweat rags. The little hamper in the laundry room was overflowing. So, 2 loads. I’m taking the lazy route and using the dryer.

That’s 2 of my 3 planned events for today. I believe I shall do some afghaning shortly. Or maybe a little later. **FCD **needs some stuff from Lowe’s and we thought we’d grab lunch while down in that part of the county. I’ll hold off with afghaning till we get back. Decision made.

goofae???

Decisions. Antibiotics are causing major stomach upset but I need to finish them as one side of my head is still completely stopped up. I see an ENT consult in my future. I can’t stop the antibiotics lest I backslide so I am thinking some probiotics may help?? Anyone? Damnable mainland crud. Could be worse I guess–could be in Houston.

Other than all that tmi I am being a slug, hacking and blowing and watching the wx channel. Oh, one more thing. Our Orange so called president is an ass. It is simply not normal.

Safe travels boofae.

Belated happies, Nettie!

Swampy, please add my condolences on the loss of Mr Frank, he sounds like he was a great character and obviously much loved.

Dopefest was fun, and it was great to finally meet some imaginary friends. I can confirm that mooom really is nice, dammit! Also, she brought cake which was yummy…and gave me a piece of moom-original pottery which is just perfect for my desk at work so it will soon be home for my tea-bags.

Off to the airport soon, where I might work out how to do bold-face stuff on this

At the airport, all the flights to Houston have been cancelled. Looks like Dallas & drive…

So they caught ya, Tugig? Well, have fun, such as it is…

First load of towels is done, second is in the dryer. We ran to Lowe’s for some plugs that **FCD **needed, and we got a sammich while in that area. He’s futzing in his shop and I’m about to watch the next episode of *Shetland *on Netflix. I miss a lot of dialog, due to the accents and (I assume) idioms, but I get the gist, and I do enjoy the scenery. What’s really cool is seeing things in Lerwick that we saw when we were there. Or did I mention that once already??

Anyway, I’m about to assume the afghaning position and commence chilling.

Tugig you always get to go to the most interesting places.

Woke up this morning with a sore throat. I guess the end of Summer crud has made it over here.

I cleaned, I dusted, I vacuumed, I did a load of laundry. Getting ready to start dinner. And a have a beer.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated and fed the mourners. The leftover ham and cake got sent home with others. Ragweed is in bloom and I am miserable. ICK! I shall sleep with Ben tonight for sure.

Mr. Frank’s graveside service will be at ten a.m. Wednesday at the cemetery in Parrott, Jawja. The good folk of Dawson Presbyterian Church will provide N.O.L. The mournful shall once again be well-fed. JDD’s told us that several of her lady friends in Dawson have dropped off various casseroles, cake and pie at her house. I know the bereaved get fed in other parts of the country, but it just seems to be a must down south. When mom died we actually asked that people not bring over a lot of food. I mean, it’s appreciated but too much is too much sometimes.

ETA: Safe traveks BooFae and Gigity.

After I had to drive to work because somebody locked their keys in the office.:smack::dubious::rolleyes:

2gig, all-y’all be careful. Floods are no respecter of cars.

FCM, thanks for the report on the MMP meetup. And you know, my lawn could use mowing…

Get well soon, Butters.

Well, day of rest indeed. Ate a big meal (courtesy of Longhorn Steakhouse) at lunch and then napped 2-5PM, just like any respectable carnivore. Cancelled soccer practices for Friday and next Monday due to Labor Day (wish I had thought about that 8 months ago and planned to go to Dragon Con). New front and back doors get installed next week, and the September grocery stockup should also take place, so that along with the 4 days of coaching soccer should keep me out of trouble…we’ll see.

It was very helpful when Dad died. There were some nice looking brownies, but by the time I felt like eating his MIL had eaten them all.

Dude, me and the OW have been to the Eagle for the Mr Pittsburgh enough times to ask — how did you do in the fetish and jock competitions.

I think I may have said at the time but the first time we went a friend was entered and a couple days before the competition everyone withdrew except him and another guy. Which meant that if he lost he would be the ONLY loser. So we went to scream with glee or (as it turned out) be a friendly face to cry with. Our one local club also does a toy drive every year we support. Which reminds me ---- we really should start shopping soon for a bicycle.

But the long and short (sorry for any mental images it brings to mind) is that IT AIN’T JUST SWAMPYKINS WHO KNOWS SUCH THINGS!!!

Wait — let me get this straight -----------------

sorry
