Nothing can eclipse the MMP!

Howdy Y’all! Home from men’s night over to the church house. ‘Twas as great as usual with a good crowd. Plus we had ice cream! Overall it’s been a good day. Got da cave spiffed, saw a solar eclipse, and had a nice evenin’. However, we’s tahrd and shall shortly call it a day.

Soapy cool pic!

Well, no tornado. Lots of rain, tho. I think it’s probably done now.

Cool weather ahead, so yay for that.

Great idea Red on the sunchips and moon pies. I shall steal it for next time. Glasses are still sky high-ha- will keep checking.

At the campus party they had sunchips, moonpies, starbursts, and black and white cookies looking like an eclipse. Oh and nachos.

Didn’t see much of the eclipse, liked the way the animals got quiet and the insects got noisy.

Never did get the team roster I was expecting, so no soccer practice today, but have it scheduled for the rest of the week (Sunday will be a day of rest).

New doors payed for, just need the installation guy to call with the date.

And I’ve two bags of stuff for Purple Heart to pickup. Last time I had something out, someone absconded with my donation, so I will put them closer to the house and keep an eye on them.

Good!

I bet I haven’t watched some of those DVDs.
dammit.

Its crass to ask someone in threat of imminent danger for some of their personal possessions.

Hey Moom ---- can I have FCDs motorcycle?

At work today it was getting all dark and gloomy as the eclipse hit our 80% and one of my coworkers asked if it was raining. I said no ---- just the eclipse. And she asked me “what eclipse”?
There is a reason NASA has never raided Da Jungle for talent. :smack:

I’m praying for the rain to stop now. I absolutely must take the dog outside.

Yesterday I was gone all day, fifteen hours, for the eclipse. I locked Mauser in the bathroom for that time, with newspaper and pads on the floor. He didn’t do anything, believe it or not, but just as I arrived home the skies opened, and there was dangerous lightening. I had to keep him in, and now, through no fault of his own, he has peed indoors, on my bed comforter naturally. It’s still rain and thunder out there.

C’mon, this dog must go!

:deep sigh:
First official day of school. Lots of changes for my structure-needing students. All we can do is our best and hope it is enough.

Happy Toosday!

It’s still dark outside, I hate that the days are getting shorter.
Today’s high is supposed to be 92.

I woke too early again this morning. I’ve been up since 4:30. Now I have to log into irk and all I want to do is sleep. No time for a nap either, we need to pick up the text books today.
It it wasn’t for the damn eclipse today would be puppy day.
We tried watching the eclipse using my phone and a tablet, and it didn’t work so well.

One thing that surprised me was the a woman across the street let her little boy out during the eclipse. The kid looks to be about 4 and all he had to do was look up as the sun would have been right in front of him. Right after the eclipse it was like a kid explosion in the neighborhood. I guess the other parents kept their kids indoors until it was over.

Much to do again today.
One more week of overtime.
I wish I was rich so I could afford a cook, a maid, and a chauffer. Then I’d have time to get some other stuff done.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to a meeting. Still under the weather.

I was thinking the same thing as I drove in. There was a dim glow in the east, but by the time I got to the office, it was reasonably light. Much as I’m looking forward to cooler weather, I hate the extended dark. <sigh>

Came in to an email from a coworker asking about some drawings he’d asked me for 2 weeks ago. oooops! They’re now on the top of my list. I need a better way of keeping track of stuff.

That’s all. Just another day in paradise. Happy Tuesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. with a chance of a tstorm this afternoon as usual. We shall see. This mornin’ I shall go to the horsepistol to check on Mr. Frank since I didn’t yestiddy and then over to the church house to unload the dishwasher and put all the stuff back where it all lives in the kitchen. I might go to the liberry or not. I’m willy-nilly like that today. Dindin shall be cubed steak 'n gravy, smashed N.O.T., butterbeans, squish, and maybe cornbread if I feel so moved.

doggio hope you’re on the mend soonest.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification must commence so as I can go out and about the public.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Oh god. I’d forgotten that school is starting in a couple of weeks. AGGGHHH!!!

Already-awful traffic in Eastern MA becomes gridlock the first few weeks. It’s why I often work from home until 10 am, then drive into the office.

I hate driving home in the dark, because it’s still warm enough for pedestrians to be out. The pedestrians tend to wear dark clothing and because it’s Massachusetts, they pop out from behind parked cars and jaywalk. I’m terrified that I will hit someone because they are on the tan-to-dark skintone scale, and had on a dark hoodie and dark jeans, and I couldn’t fucking see them when they decided to jaywalk away from the streetlight and pop out from behind a car. I wish someone would do a PSA.

Oh. Yeah. The streetlights in Massachusetts suck. You’d think with our taxes, they’d be able to afford a brighter bulb.

Bah. Finishing toast, then headed into the office. I may have to present something today, not sure. I’m purtifying just in case. And it’s supposed to be around 90F and humid. Fall weather this weekend, though.

ETA: I’m two chapters behind in the class I’m taking. Have to catch up this week. Studying as an adult is not easy.

Awake and being semi-adult; basically cleaning through things to get rid of the computer desk to make room for Dad’s desk. Depending on how it finishes I may not go that route but I’m planning ahead. Decided to totally nix the water-based stuff and picking the oil-based I want. Also getting ready for the painter (outside) and the stuff we’re not paying him for ----- do I want to consider doing some this season or put it off for next year. I also need to get a few pieces for my Bumper-Car-Bash costume; this year I’m going as the Blue Demon and I need just the right t-shirt to wear under my sport coat. This may not surprise you but I already have a professional Luchador level mask.

I miss the days when I was 16 and my only concerns were work schedule (school was always a breeze for me) and trying to talk that Mexican chick into going to Bike Week with me.

That’s awful!

Horrible!!

Inhumane!!!

Against the Geneva Convention!!!

Skool in August/Before Labor Day? Why don’t they do something nicer & more enjoyable…like water boarding?

The old joke was: How do you cut correspondence school? Send in blank envelopes. If it’s an online class, I guess you could send a header-only email. (Though that doesn’t work from Gmail all the time; sometimes not received)

Spidey, School started last week here in Ali-Bama; but they get a full week off in September or October for “fall Break” and another week in the Spring, so I guess it evens out.

Need to go pick up my balls (Soccer Balls, people!!) this morning. Car is already packed full of stuff, so now I get more stuff. Oh joy.

Least it is clear and sunny today. Bacon sammiches consumed so stomach is happy.

My daughter’s school started last week. She was pissed yesterday because she wasn’t allowed to take her classes outside to see the eclipse, due to “liability” worries. But she said she saw the administrators outside enjoying the show while she and her kids watched it on TV. How sucky is that?!?!?

School in the county starts after Labor Day. My coworker’s mom is a teacher and he said they haven’t allotted any teacher working days and very few snow days. They blame the governor.

Lunch time! So my day is more than half over - huzzah!

Howdy Y’all! I went to the horsepistol to see Mr. Frank. I talked with JDD as well. Mr. Frank will be discharged back to the nursin’ home either today or tomorrow and will be in hospice care. The doctor mentioned a surgical procedure for his thyroid that could be done but also said the chances of him survivin’ the procedure or maybe even survivin’ the anesthesia would be very slim. So JDD and Sis made the call for hospice which is the best call they could make IMO. We went through the same thing with mom so I understand how agonizin’ it is to make such a decision. :frowning:

I went over to the church house and someone did not turn on the dishwasher as instructed last night, thus everything was still dirty. :dubious: So I turned it on and will go back at some point tomorrow to empty. I did grab some dirty dish towels and cloths while I was there bein’ as I also have a bunch of the same kind of stuff that needs to be washed and have it all in the washer as I post.

So, I shall launder and chill.
