Nothing to write home about - a very early MMP

All in favor, say Aye.

AYE!

All opposed?

:: crickets ::

Motion passed.

Good morning, y’all. I only have a slight headache this morning. But I found another establishment that serves my favorite on tap. So it all evens out in the end.

gtPop Tarts. And waffles with no butter or syrup.

Spazz, you’re working for ther Navy now. Get used to 95% of the time being bored stiff, and 5% of the time overwhelmed beyond belief. That’s just how things are done in that organization. And since you’re down in P-cola, here’s a joke you can tell people.

How can you tell if there;s a Navy pilot in the room?

He’ll tell you.

Wha? I’m impressed. Bellydancing GOOOOOOOOD! It’s GOOOOD. See the thing is, in Toronto you were trying to get ME to bellydance, and I am, by nature, a spectator when it comes to women dancing around. Frankly, I’m a spectator when it comes to women walking around, sitting around, standing around, or being around. I spectate like a pro.

Twinkie, I’m sure the wife is well aware of my like of the girls and thier dancing. After all, they go to the re-enactment campouts and she knows I tend to spend excessive amounts of gold on them when they hit our camp.

Last night we had an AWESOME storm come through NOVA. Lots of thunder and lightning and wind and rain. I sat on the porch with the dog (who is terrified of thunder) for a couple of hours sipping beer and watching the rain come down. It was kick ass. I love rain.

After work I played my second kickball game for the league I joined. I had a good night, with one home run, one grand slam, and two triples. I know it’s a game from 6th grade, but I had a lot of fun.

Sean, I wish it was like that. As it is now, it’s 95% of the time being bored stiff, and 5% doing some meager amount of work.

In honor of the USA being eliminated from the World Cup, here’s the last bug pun:

47 -Do you have a DVD drive on your computer? If so, maybe you could watch a movie? Nothing with big explosions or big philosophy. Something light that could be interrupted easily if real work or real people should come by. Oh, and where in Jersey are you from? I can almost see Bergen County from where I’m sitting.

welby, in that case, I think your next gift to her should be a wowie of a bellydancing outfit. That could be BIG FUN!

gt - Banana bread? Peanut butter muffins? A couple of weekends ago, we had an outdoor event to go to, and someone brought this zucchini “bread” that was really tasty. She said she got the recipe off a box of Bisquick, and it was easy easy easy. All I know is, it tasted good and we could eat it while standing up.

Morning all. Could everyone send good thoughts and vibes to KeithT? He’s defending his Master’s thesis this afternoon. Thanks in advance.

Other than that, nothing exciting from here. I have a conference call at 10. Woo.

Good thoughts and col kid vibes goin’ out to KeithT. I still have [del]nightmares[/del] memories of doing that myself.

**gt ** - crudities are always good, and rarely messy

good luck to **KeithT **, aka MrTaxi

on the weather front, we’re going to have hot sticky yucky stinky thunderstormy weather right thru next week. boooooooo! :frowning:

I’m here. I’ve already warned the worker bees that they should not expect much in the way of real work today. From me anyway.

Balance the checkbook, update the I-Pod…stuff like that. Pressing matters, ya know?

Okay, I don’t have anybody sitting behind me, reading everything I type today, so woohoo! Oh, yeah, this was supposed to have something to do with what I quoted. I’m getting there. Today I have my second opinion appointment where yet another doctor is going to look at my girly parts and hazard a guess as to what’s wrong with me. And then I have to come back to work. But if I have the time between being medically violated and the arbitrary time I picked to return to the office, I’m going to go buy an iPod. Actually, I’ll probably buy an iPod knockoff, but it will definitely be an MP3 player of some sort. Roomie bought an iPod last week, and once I was over my initial resistance to new technology, it’s fabulous. I need me one of those.

Here’s hoping you can find out what is going on Drae. Is sucks knowin’ something’s wrong but not knowing just what it is.

In other news, I’m getting a haircut after work today. YAY! I need one. But I already said that, didn’t I?

Morning. Time for a fun-filled day of housekeeping.

Prayers headed out for Keith.

That article is saddening, gt. I have :counts: at least six people that I can talk to about important stuff. Friendship is very important to me, and I am lucky in having many very good friends.

That reminds me- I invited Attacks Husband to come over tonight, and he said he would, after he finished sulking in a darkened room for several hours over his inability to form real friendships. That’s fine.
After I finish eating this bowl of People Kibble [SUP]TM[/SUP] (cereal) I will work up the energy to do stuff I’ve neglected all week.

Good luck and good wishes to Keith, if I haven’t missed it.

Good morning my fine folks! It’s Friday!!!

Sending best of luck to Keith T.

Also, Drae, I’m hoping your doctor appointment goes well and they can finally figure out what the hell is going on.

Okay, Swampy, you’ll be very happy to know that Mr. Taters and I have finally entered this century. We broke down and got cell phones last night. We cheaped out, we’re sharing 700 minutes, but I think that’ll be enough. We didn’t do the text messaging thingie either. However, we do have PTT so we can do that with each other all we want and it’s free. We’ll see how it goes. The daughter will now be handed a cell phone when she goes out, so we can reach her.

The weather is stunningly gorgeous. Tomorrow’s plans call for wakeboarding and water skiing.

The Apocalypse is nigh!

I recently got a new phone. Ok, ACBG and I recently got new phones. We’re sharing 700 minutes also. Since neither one of us uses the things very much it works out great. He uses a pager for work because TPTB have decreed that to be cheaper than cell phones. Thus, the cell phone is for personal use only and no one where he works even knows the number. I could have a work cell phone but I don’t want one. Don’t see as I really need it. A couple people at work have my cell number if I really need to be reached. I like the free long distance after seven p.m. and all weekend feature. So does ACBG. We both use 'em to call family on the weekends. Plus, it does feel good knowing I can contact somebody if I need to in an emergency while traveling. Or meeting up for a dopefest. Hee!

No, you haven’t hit the 5% insanity yet. The meager work you’ve done still falls within the 95% boredom field.

With lots of bickering and discussion over the last few weeks - mostly bickering - we have almost decided to get a leopard gecko.

yeesh, the amount of time we spend discussing pets is phenomenal. Other people should think half so long, particularly those who don’t know how to take care of them!

See, now we’re all ready to Dopefest away, but there isn’t anyone coming up this way…hint…hint…hint.

Hmmmm, our free minutes don’t start until 9:00, but weekends are free. The hubby and I have decided that we’ll use PTT to talk to each other, if need be. We don’t really gab on the phone either. However, it will be very handy out on the boat. Now people can call us when they get to the dock and we can swing by and pick them up.

This will probably be the most <snerk>worthy post I’ve done in a long time, not counting the occasional cookie fortune.

I was in the shower this morning scrubbing away when I heard a metallic clang. I looked down, and found a quarter in the bottom of the tub. It apparentl stuck itself to my hide in the middle of the night, and remained there through the half hour or so of puttering I did before getting in to wash…

Ok, I just gotta know… How did a quarter get stuck to your hide in the first place? Have you taken up pole or lap dancing as a second career? Is that your going rate these days?

yeah, really, **Bobbio ** - you’re supposed to get bills, not coins, for those dances.
iPods ROCK! **Drae ** - also think about getting mini speakers-dock that will charge the iPod while you listen. I have one at work, it saves my sanity. The knockoffs have that accessory also - but go for the real thing. You’ll be happier in the long run. Then I will share with you my ecclectic selection of boppy tunes.

since everyone is sharing - tomorrow is pamper-rosie day - I’ll be getting my hair color refreshed, then a pedicure, a manicure, and a haircut/blowout. Then to dinner with friends. (and maybe clothes shopping before dinner if there’s time.)
In my crowd are 3 married couples, one monogamous couple, one divorcing guy, 3 single gals (of which I am one) and one single guy. So I suggested that divorcing guy, single guy, single gal best friend and I all hang out together and give the appearance of two couples. Now, whether its two straight couples or two gay couples, I’ll leave that to the imagination of the observer  :D. But anyway it this 4 of us who are dining tomorrow - at a really great Vegitarian restaurant. They disguise their tofu marvelously.
