NYC Needs Dope!

Damn.

They have a daily happy hour from 4 - 7 pm. Does anyone want to meet earlier to cash in on the deals?

Hey, good news. My stupid friend is being extra stupid and has backed out of the trip (don’t GET me started…) But that means she won’t be tagging along. My sister might be taking her seat in my car, but I don’t know if she’ll come. I have no qualms ditching her for the night. Now we can talk about my stupid friend all we want!

DON PEDRO: Your silence most offends me, and to be merry best becomes you; for, out of question, you were born in a merry hour.

BEATRICE: No, sure, my lord, my mother cried; but then there was a star danced, and under that was I born. -Much Ado About Nothing, Act II, Sc: i

Official Countdown to the NYC SDMB Pool Party and Pig Roast

One week, Five Days and Counting

Well we’ve got Manhattan and Brooklyn. Now all we need is Queens, Staten Island and Da Bronx and we’ll have the five borough sweep. (Just FYI, each of those screen names appear to be free if you want to create sock puppets to help with this endeavour :))

We can also scratch SwimmingRiddles extra-stupid friend, but as a bonus we may get SisterRiddles (and any sister of hers has gotta be a friend of ours).

Well, it is on Shabbos (with Daylight Savings, it doesn’t end until after 8!), and it’s right before Pesach (Passover), and we’ve got lots of work to do, so I think I’ll have to beg out of this one. But keep me in mind when you’re eating your bacon cheeseburgers!

Damn it, there goes the Esteemed Delegate from Queens.

My dad’s from Queens, how about a Queens once removed?

My mom’s from Astoria. 2 Queens once removed=1 Queens delegate. How’s that?

Pork is not a verb.

Aw, cmkeller! I guess we will still be there after 8. Can’t you pop in? I’d love to meet you.

Slight dilemma. I will be bringing someone. (I have to have someone to talk to when my thread drops like a stone) but I’m not sure what type of escort I need.
My husband is fun, but very low key. He thinks I’m loud and keeps count of how many beers I have. If I want to look responsible and refined I should bring him.
My girlfriend is my partner in crime. We go out, drink excessivley and get rowdy. We are the opposite of intellectual stimulation.

Who should I bring?

I’ll take “no brainers” for $500, Alex.

What is “bring the beer chick?”

NYC IRL III
is on April 15th. Do you have what it takes?

Official Countdown to the NYC SDMB Dance-a-thon and Debutante Ball

One Week, Four Days and Counting

In today’s news update, C.M. Keller has declined to attend for religious reasons. In response, the Teeming Millions have, so far in vain, to convince him to show up late. In a related development, various attendees are claiming relatives from Queens to make up for his absence (and by the way my mom is from Queens, too, and I was born there, though we moved out to Long Island when I was four after my little sister, Green Bean, came along – it won’t make up for Chaim’s not being there, though).

In other news, Biggirl is facing a deep personal dilemma as to whether to bring her somewhat stiff husband :frowning: or her drunken and rowdy girlfriend :). Manny has weighed in on this issue, suggesting that she should should “bring the beer chick,” but the rest of the teeming millions are wisely and respectfully declining to get involved in this personal decision of Biggirl’s.

Dude, you’ve GOT to work on getting the subliminal messages a little more…submininal.

Biggirl, this is truely a quandry. I have friends I love that are lots o’fun, but wouldn’t jive with the SBMB vibe. I’ll hang out with you, if that helps!

So I ran into SaxFace this morning, and she was really excited about the CSNY concert at the Garden Monday night.

She was in the fourth row, jumping up and down and screaming “SUITE JUDY BLUE EYES,” and when Neil Young threw his harmonica out into the audience she fought six other people for it and she’s been sleeping with it under her pillow ever since.

I need no meaning, I feel no shame
I won’t believe that I’ve got no choice
I’m out of control…and I love it

For goodness sake . . .Am I going to have to come all the way in from Philadelphia on Saturday night to bail you people out of jail AGAIN?

Biggirl-

Are you bringing a friend ‘cause you are afraid no one will talk to you? Well, I’ve been dyin’ to meet you! I second SwimmingRiddles’ offer!

That said, I vote for the beer chick.

Bean

Brother Bill–Didja fergit yer Pa? He’s from Queens, too. And we are, too, because we were born there. But that still won’t make up for the absence of C.M.Keller. :frowning:

Uke, you are an evil, evil man.

Be sure your assistant doesn’t open any interoffice envelopes addressed to you marked “confidential”.

So, since you have humilated me in front of the online community, please meet me on the 15th around 5pm and buy me some drinks. Then we can get the sax talk out of the way and stake out a good table.

I vote for the beer chick.

Um, Bean, our father grew up in Brooklyn, you know that borough south of the Gowanus Canal where the Dodgers played. (Actually, I think he was born in the Bronx, but moved out of there real early to get away from the Yankees fans.) Yes, he later moved to Queens, but he’s a Brooknynite.

I just called him and asked him, noodle-head.

He was born in the Bronx, lived in Brooklyn until he was 13, and then his family moved to Queens. He lived there until he was 34 and moved out to the Island. (He spent his college years in Philadelphia.) Therefore, he lived for more years in Queens than Brooklyn.

I think he has equal claims to both, and since Brooklyn in well represented here, and we need a Queens-ite, we should claim him as being from Queens. So there.
