I started Hakeem Nicks, who had 7 catches for 87 yards. That’s 15.7 points according to Yahoo but they haven’t given him any points. What is happening? No big deal as I had the game locked up before tonight, but it is still worrisome.
That will likely be sorted out tomorrow, when they post the revised standings and such. Happened to me last week with someone…maybe Sanchez?
Ha! Ok, it’s already been corrected. Usually they give the player the points as he accrues them. Bizarre.
Thanks.
I’ve noticed that Yahoo isn’t as up to the minute as other fantasy sites.
I climbed back in to 4th this week, but this thing is going down to the wire.
None of the top 5 teams are facing each other in Week 14, so this weekend could decide everything with me vs. London Calling and Oilers vs. Cliff’s Clavins.
Also, looking at my record against the top five teams:
Loss by 20
Loss by 10
Win by 6
Win by 7
These playoffs are gonna be tough.
This has been a very different league, with unusual scoring, but I think it has been fun. I plan to continue the league next year. Will have to look into what it takes to make it a “keeper” league, then see if that is something people want to do…
Will we redraft next year? Do you redraft every year in a “keeper” league?
I hope so you do run it again. Even though I am getting beaten with a stick I am having fun. I would love to turn it into a keeper league starting next year, it would have given me a little more to play for this year if it had been one, but I like keeper leagues as a general rule better anyway.
Edit: to be clear, you are planning on having a scratch draft next year but implementing rules for the keepers in the 2013 season right? It’s not totally fair to let people start keeping players for the 2012 draft now since that would have changed a lot of strategies during the season for a lot of people.
Ok, so in a keeper league, you keep your drafted players from year to year. Sounds decent but, yeah, I would also like another chance at a draft since I missed the previous draft and knowing it was a keeper league would have influenced things (draft and player transactions) throughout this season.
Had a few busy few days. I log on to pick up R Cooper and bench D Jackson. Holy crap, the Eagles already played. Damn.
I agree that a keeper league would require a redraft.
I’ve been away from the computer for a couple of days, just got back late last night. Will post more on the keeper thing once I have time to look into it. I had not considered doing a redraft, but if that is what people think should happen, I have no objection. I am assuming it is somehow possible to convert, but we’ve got plenty of time to figure it out.
You can’t draft (through yahoo) at this stage of the year. People mean that if you were going to do it, you’d have to start it next year.
But… let me get this straight. Around the middle of the season, I thought it might be a cool idea to let the top playoff seeds pick their opponents, and you jumped on me saying this would be a grave injustice because you can’t make that sort of change in-season. Which is silly since it’s not like it changes anything - people would still compete to be the top seeds just as they would before - no strategy would change, there would be plenty of time left, and it wasn’t even a clear advantage, just a fun little feature.
But here you are proposing that you change your league into a keeper league, mid-season, a decision which would hugely affect drafting and management strategies if people knew about it going into the year? That’s a million times more egregious than my proposal - if mine was egregious at all.
Heck, I am* hanging onto 2 players who are now on the IR just in case this switches to a keeper league next year. If I know we will have a scratch draft next year with keeper rules in place for the following year (a move I would support) I would gladly dump them, but since it’s up in the air now I don’t know if I should give them up or not. If we keep, say, 3 players with no penalty I would be a fool to give them up, particularly since one is a really good QB.
*theoretically. Realistically, I don’t really need those roster spots as there isn’t anyone on the waiver wire that I like better than who I am starting and my season is all but over. But if I was in playoff contention it would be different.
Eh, I say no keeper league. I think the draft is a big part of the fun every year. And I think this league already has its own charm with all the extra scoring opportunities. Kinda throws out the rulebook and gives the chance for everyone to make a big comeback every weekend.
No, I am proposing to convert it to a keeper league next year. I had not considered the idea in any degree of depth, including the need for a new draft. Once that was pointed out, I accepted it. Any changes would take place after this season ends and before the next season starts. I do not change rules in mid season, ever.
Ok, so you were talking about next year, but you were surprised to learn that you’d need to do another draft next year, which every league does anyway… something isn’t adding up. What “new draft” are you talking about?
I don’t know how keeper leagues work. Maybe you get to designate X number of players as keepers and the remaining roster spots are filled through a draft…maybe it is the whole roster, and drafts are eliminated. Once a player is designated a keeper, maybe you are stuck with him forever even he he breaks his spleen. Maybe you can cut him after the season, and put someone else in his spot the following year. It’s just an idea that may or may not ever happen. When I have time, I’ll look into it–then get some feedback from my players and possibly more experienced folks in other leagues.
At this point, all that is certain is that this league will play out the season as scheduled–with no changes of any kind for this year, and I will be doing it again next year, with or without changes–which will be decided and posted before the next season starts.
How would any scenario not result in having a draft next year, though? The whole idea about realizing you’ll need to draft makes no sense unless you were saying you planned on implementing a keeper system this year, but then people objected and said you’d need a redraft first.
