Ideologically? Absolutely. And much worse. The ideology of purging races, ethnicities, or tribes is pretty hard to surpass on the horrific scale. Any other questions?
It’s weird how much we have in common. For example, I’d even maybe vote (R) if there were a realistic chance that every single conservative wasn’t a bigoted fascist.
N.B.: I’ve exaggerated, but I hope I’ve made my point.
The most egregious abuses by whom? The Left (or what passes for it in the USA)? You eliminate the Republicans, and the “most egregious abuses” by the “Left” will amount to a negligible ripple on the overall signal put out by the remainder of the populace.
Abuses by the police and criminal justice system. In many ways it’s barbaric and broken. In that thread where I advocated that people who feared for their lives leave, the corruption and brutality of the state here in the US is a contributing factor. I want to leave the US occasionally because of the tolerance of abuse. It’s inexcusable.
I don’t because we profit greatly from being here and our socio-economic status makes my family a very unlikely target. I guess you could say we are privileged.
It is not your place to say who or whether people should leave based on some injustice that they have suffered, while you have not. It’s arrogant, at best. It’s racist, at worst.
I said realistic chance. How in this country would popular support be sufficient to have whole sale prison and police reform? I don’t see it. Our national character is a bit too punitive. So, I can’t be in favor of the trade offs required if there is no hope for what I would like to see.
Now obviously, I am 1 out of 100s of millions and my one vote and my opinion doesn’t accomplish much so it’s mostly academic anyways.
Protesters aren’t looters. Looters loot; protesters protest. The vast majority of protesters are peaceful. The protesters aren’t vermin, even if many are on the “left”.
The existence of some bad liberals is no excuse for your own hateful posts (no, my family and I aren’t vermin) and mass-slander of strangers.
And you are wrong. I am perfectly entitled to share my opinion as I wish when I wish. I don’t care how it’s characterized. You might not like that reality but it is what it is. And that’s the point really, it doesn’t matter what or how you think things should be. They are what they are and there are logical points of view that should be considered if one is really fearful for one’s life regardless of the perspective of the wokesphere.
Then why do you whine so much when you get criticized? That’s just other folks telling you their opinions about your posts. And yet you whine endlessly – lately the majority of your posts are no more than whining about this board and this board’s posters.
No. It’s just each of the major parties is composed of a motley coalition of convenient allies that each intraparty faction hopes to control and exploit. I find the factions on the left to be more destructive to the nation as a whole than the factions on the right. So, even if I agree with a lot of the concepts on the social side of the left the far left and the counterproductive economic pandering is a complete turn off. Unfortunately, the right has its fair share of dangerous concepts but economically at least they understand supply and demand.
So go to some effort. Point out my dishonest posts with cites and details. Let’s see it, if you can muster up effort that you never seem to elsewhere on this board. Let’s see if the laziest poster on this board can actually back up something he’s saying.
Or, alternately, just make an excuse and continue to be the laziest poster on the board.
