I’d not noticed the SDMB as particularly misogynistic. That might be because (a) I mostly ignore the “thoughts” of our right-wing morons, and (b) I may be slightly misogynistic myself — I certainly have a tendency to associate women with sex!
But after following the click-marks to see what all this fuss was about, it appears that octopus ridiculed the suggestion that SDMB’s women be asked to refine the rules by :
(a) noting that SDMB men might pretend to be women,
(b) asking what about transsexuals?
Octopus may have intelligent views on some topics, but this is just baby talk. We do have Russian pretending to be Americans so they can side with octopus and his ilk politically, but they give themselves away with their stupidity. The idea that long-time Dopers will lie about their gender is insulting. Maybe lying is your style, octopus, but if you think other Dopers are liars, why not just go away? And holding up “transsexuals” as the Gotcha!, as though he’s found a marvelous reductio ad absurdem is the insipid sort of non-thinking we’ve come to expect from Trumpists.
What’s this, another Gotcha ? Did Hillary try to rape boys at her high school? Were men offended when Kamala Harris pinched their bottoms? Just Asking Questions, are we?
Octopus is the same racist dolt who asked a black here why he didn’t move to another country if he feels discriminated against in the U.S.
I don’t particularly want him BANNED. There are millions of other racist and sexist Americans even stupider than octopus. It’s good to keep a few around to remind us of what we’re up against.
But since we’re in the Pit, let me go on record: Octopus, Hurricane, Starving, Peebles-or-whatever-his-name-is: These doltish Trumpists will have to demonstrate a little more self-awareness if they expect me to treat their posts as anything but fodder for amusement.
