Off!- A vacation MMP

We have semi-reverted - we’ve got a land line. OK, it’s VOIP and it’s for FCD’s business, but we’re no longer a cell-only household. What’s next - black and white TV???

You’ll be mailing your responses, written with a typewriter, to the forums. Someone will scan and post the PDF.

Make a carbon for yourself.

Are you a Bears fan or something? Or is it worse than that?

Mooommm, we reverted a little, too. With the kiddos entering school age, I wanted a number that is for “the family.” One that they can give out until they’re old enough for their own phones. One that the school can call to reach either parent, etc. But now Romeo, a big fan of the lovable late-80s extraterrestrial ALF, is on the lookout for a working ALF phone.

Reference went over my head.

**HepCat **- that cracked me up!!! Except I don’t need to snail mail - I can FAX!!

I think I’m going to cut out a wee bit early. It’s too late to start anything and I just finished a couple of drawings. I think I’ll tidy my desk and head out the door. Because I can.

Carbon paper was used to make copies on a typewriter.

Thanks. Goes to show how out of touch I am with old technology

I recall roll printer paper was made using that method to print two or three copies of receipts or contracts. It seems it would have been easier just to print the page three times, but perhaps it was quicker.

Ursala Kitteh horked up a big @ss hairball and kibble on the freshly cleaned carpet. Catz.

Back from the Lou and Al tour of Philly, featuring such landmarks as Lou’s old apartment, and the nudie bar district. Plus breakfast at Geno’s.

My first job in DP was running a decollator, bursters, and sorters. I made books too, at first using a paint brush, a pot of glue, and tape. Later. we got a booking machine, which melted the glue chips and had a slot to run the books through.

The decollator could get a little messy at times. Carbon everywhere.

The burster you had to remember face down - first page first, face up - last page first, or you would spend hours putting everything in the right order. Sometimes you had to add the bar that would print a signature on the page and you had to line it up just so. Sometimes you had to set the cutters to trim the sides off the forms, If the paper was thin and cheap it would fall apart at the perfs and make a mess. If the paper was too heavy it wouldn’t tear at the perfs.

Sorters were just pure hell.

I am such a dinosaur.

The FPS has been mowed and the mosquitoes have been fed.

We stopped at the Credit Union to get our daughter added as an authorized signer on the business account. It took over an HOUR to get to the point where we could sign 2 forms. They’re nice folks at the CU, but doggone are they slow! But it’s all done, so there’s that.

**FCD **doesn’t want supper. I don’t know what I’ll have, but I need something. Then chillage shall ensue.

Unfortunately, like all banks, you are on their time, not the other way around.

The main problem was the woman who was helping us. She helped us set up the account months ago and she still doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing. I lost track of how many times she left to ask someone else a question.

I’m having some parmesan pasta. It’s meh, but it’ll fill a void.

That is very kind of you. :dubious:

The mosquitoes are horrible this year.
I bought some citronella candles and I knew it was going to be a problem when as soon as I took the lid of the first one a mosquito landed on it.
Obviously the mosquitoes up here have never been taught to hate citronella.

However, it makes the pup happy to have me sit outside while he runs around the yard, so I do it for him.
He’s staring at me now with the come on, let’s go play outside look.

Howdy Y’all! I’ve had a busy day that included gettin’ to sit at :eek:WallyWorld:eek: for two hours to get a new battery for twuck. Guess I can’t complain though as the five year battery that died lasted for six years. Anywho, got back a little bit ago from mowage of the front forty over to the church house. We’ve had a nice rain since I got home with possibly more on the way. The folks set to mow the back forty tomorrow may have to wait until later in the day if’n it rains a lot tonight. The grass is tall and thick out there. I get to sit in a trainin’ for ushers, lay readers, chalice bearers, et al.

Yup.

Tahred. I expect to hit the sheets soon…
