Michael: When I’m in the room with her I just want to kiss her!
Kevin: Now you know how I feel with that big jar of M&Ms by my desk.
Andy: Why don’t you just move the M&Ms?
Kevin: WHY DON’T YOU JUST SHUT UP?
Some good lines in this episode, but I still don’t get the Svengali thing Michael has with attractive, intelligent women. And Pam was acting really weird, but she does have a strong matchmaker streak in her (unless it involves her mother).
I enjoyed the episode quite a bit. Why does that woman like Michael? Well, people like people. I don’t think that’s the point. The point is how does Michael react, and the way he reacted was both in-character and thoroughly entertaining.
Dwight: You could be the Indian Bill Gates! You could be the Indian Ted Turner!
Kelly: I could be the Indian Julia Roberts!
Dwight: But that’s not…she’s not…
liked the episode, however, i don’t feel right unless i take weekly potshots at the Office so…
-why does michael always get the girl? isn’t dwight’s tryst infinitely more interesting?
-did not like the exchange the OP posted. Kevin is just fat. it’s insulting to insinuate that he can only relate to sex through eating. he had a fiance. he had a pretty good thing going with the homely redhead from the v-day mixer. imo he’s a lot more sexually experienced than Michael.
-phylis is just unbelievably trashy now. keyword: unbelievably. it’s no fun anymore when a quirk becomes a defining feature. go back to the bitchy. it’s more believable.
-less new guy, more toby.
-good to see ryan back to being a normal person instead of a hypersexual douche. wait, not a complaint. what?
I thought it was pretty obvious that Donna was attracted to Michael … I’m surprised no one suggested that he might have a chance with her if he pursued it in a more appropriate venue.
And I feel compelled to add that Donna (played by Amy Pietz) is by far the hottest woman ever to have appeared on this show, from a purely physical attraction point of view, way past Pam or Holly or Jan or anyone else.
I don’t think attractive women being into Michael, initially, is that far-fetched. Michael is fairly attractive and has what on paper is a good career. I don’t think it’s surprising that a few women would dismiss his initial goofiness in favor of what appear to be good traits.
But after a while, Michael predictably spoils things by being a socially maladjusted creepy weirdo. The only relationship that “worked out” was Jan and she turned out to be crazier than he is.
I liked the Kelly/Dwight plot this week. It was reminiscent of the types of stories the show did when it was actually good - a goofy, awkward take on actual office politics.
Kelly and Dwight’s initial exchange was hilarious. I usually find Kelly annoying but she was great this episode. I loved how everyone was afraid of her.
