* * * ! Official 2016 US Presidential Election Day Thread ! * * *

I agree with this completely. The Democratic Party needs to stop treating everyone other than urban elites, minorities and special interest groups as anything but an inconsequential and ignorant nuisance that should be punished for some perceived ‘privileged’ that they have no knowledge of. Just look at that Electoral map. The vast majority of the U.S. by land area (it may not be Manhattan but it still adds up to a whole lot more people) is rural and filled with really good people doing the best they can to raise their families and the Federal government is failing them and then bitch slapping them with insults after they failed. Hint: There are a lot more voters that are living in actual deplorable conditions like trailer parks than there are gay or transgendered people (sometimes those overlap). A good politician could work on the issues for both at the same time without causing division but we haven’t had one in recent memory.

I am a Never-Trumper but Hillary has always worked overtime to coordinate a loss because she is so hopelessly out of touch.

Frighteningly enough, I completely agree with this. One of the best outcomes is that Trump will be a stooge, either out of incompetence or for-hire.

How could the polls be so wrong? All of them? That’s crazy.

You don’t really have a choice with demographic breakdowns, since there is no other source.

Yep, and the Democrat-heavy areas like Philly have basically been counted, so don’t be surprised if his lead increases.

Well, not really, the last time the GOP had the presidency and both houses of Congress was up until the 2006 midterms.

I’ve never been more ashamed to be American.

The guy was attempting to have hope. Just because you’re probably as upset at the rest of us doesn’t mean we need you rubbing it in. I mean, this guy was on your side.

This is a very dark time. Other than, ahem, a few outliers, even the Republicans/conservatives on this board thought a Trump presidency would be disastrous.

The only way I’ve decided I can cope is to pull out of politics altogether–even if it means avoiding the talk shows that I love. Well, that and a whole lot of prayer that we make it through this tribulation. That God will keep us safe. (Unlike most of my other Christian friends, I don’t really believe in the Rapture.)

What? Something is seriously wrong.

None of them counted yard signs.

It’s not that bad. Nate Silver points out that Clinton may actually win the popular vote by close to what the polls thought.

You know what Trump proved? GOTV don’t mean shit. Neither does money. Trump has just unilaterally made Citizens United irrelevant, at least at the PResidential level.

I understand underperforming Obama, because obvious reasons, but latinos? They went more for Trump than Romney? REALLY? Or was the turnout just lower?

Maybe when he was yelling about the vote being rigged he was talking about rigging he was doing himself. I just HOW is he doing so well in states that are almost always blue states. I don’t get it.

We are in for interesting times…

Yup. He also showed that the establishment-- both Democrat and Republican-- are out of touch with the “common” man and woman.

Once and for all: Considering all the people he has screwed over throughout his career, and his lifelong goal of doing for Trump and Trump alone, why the holy FUCK do you Republicans believe a fucking thing that comes out of his mouth?

Why won’t any of you step up and answer this one simple question?

That’s a curse you know.

All reports I’ve seen said Latino turnout was up. Articles were written in the last few days that Latinos were really asserting their power in this election. Just not the way many of us expected they would.

Tough job coming up for that bloke who has to polish turds in front of the press at that podium thing.
