If you extend the word “moron” to include not just “organically stupid” but also “pathologically uninterested in reality” – in other words, incurious in the extreme, beyond two SDs along the human spectrum for this dimension (let’s pretend for a moment it can be readily measured) – then “moron” is the best answer.
IKEA deliberately adds the occasional extra part, its kind of like an “easter egg”, a playful challenge for the customer. Swedes do have a sense of humor, its just…different.

His brain is probably malfunctioning and most of what he says is pure bullshit, but for this particular thing, he basically screwed up the difference between the “highest murder rate” and the “biggest increase in the murder rate”. Apparently, Chicago (I think) did have the highest increase in the murder rate in something like 47 years. It’s a bit of a bullshit statistic, though, since it’s starting from a low level.
For example, just to make up numbers, if Chicago used to have 10,000 murders per year 47 years ago and that has been reduced to 1 murder per year last year, and then this year, the two people were murdered, then the murder rate went up by 100% :eek:.
Those numbers were made up, but the point is similar – the number of murder has come down drastically in Chicago and other places, so an increase year-over-year may show up as a large rate increase even if the numbers are relatively small compared to decades ago.
Now for my disclaimers. Chicago DID have a jump in the number of murders, and I think it’s similar to what it was back in the '90s, so that’s bad all by itself. Murder is bad, mmmkay? And, Chicago should do something to try and get the amount of violent crime under control. While violent crime is still lower that it was historically, we should try and get it lower still, of course. Also, Trump is a thin-skinned, delusional bullshit artist, and I hate to defend him in any way.

I teach at a university, and his press conference last week reminded me of nothing more than an inattentive freshman who tries to answer a question when he hasn’t listened to the lecture or done the reading. There will be some relevant words, combined with some half-remembered tidbits and simplistic general knowledge, but with no coherence and no real substance.
The “presser” was a word salad of crazy. I tried to read a transcript, to see if it made more sense. It didn’t. Fucking pathetic. He likes to brag on his great mind and how much he knows, but the mish mosh of jibber jabber only confirmed that he was even more stupid and ignorant than I thought. In between the incomprehensible bullshit lines, it was just a bunch of whining, false claims, and attacks. Considering how low my opinion of him already was, all I can say is “holy shit”.
What a surprise, Trump is doubling down on his attack against Sweden, based on no evidence apart from a poorly researched biased “documentary” that made shit up.
And now Trump is spreading the " no go" zone malarkey. Why am I not surprised it’s just before the release of the new and improved Muslim ban?
