Tuesday is gonna be good. I insist!
Tidings all.
Slept well, which is always a surprise.
Dogs have been walked.
Cats are being VERY good. Scares me.
Blurf At irk. Stopped by the Mother Base and grabbed a couple irk shirts for myself and some stickers we sell. That has been my excitement for the day.
One of the women in dialysis bears a striking resemblance to Gru.
Morning all. Got 8 hours sleep so hopefully will be back to whatever passes for normal. Need to clean out and re-arrange the car, Sunday I just chucked all the soccer stuff in the back and haven’t sorted it out yet. That’s my major ‘to-do’ today.
Beckers, I ain’t used up yet. I hope to emulate (and so should you) the later Hunter Thompson, who said:
No elections down here, Moooommm, except for a couple state districts that don’t concern me. Plus the Democratic party is in such a mess here there’s no excitement about politics.
Nava, had to look up Spanish Keyboard, and from here they look the same; does yours have keys for the ‘accented’ letters or odes it interpret the keys differently?
Should get to the mid-60F today (52F now). Outside of paying utility bills, nothing to get out of the house for. Only soccer practice is tomorrow.
The main part is the same, they’re both qwerty, but most symbols-which-are-not-letters are in a different spot (for example, the bottom-right key is - instead of /). There are two versions, both of which include some symbols that are not directly present in an American keyboard such as ñ, ¡, ¿. There are a few symbols which are present in one of the two Spanish versions but not in the other, and a few which change location between them. One of the movers is the @ :smack:.
Happy Toosday!
It’s a not so bad 52 degrees outside, partly cloudy.
I took Ripple to the park this morning, left Echo home. She appears to be better, but an extra day or two of rest will be good for her.
She finally perked up to her normal bratty self around 11:30, when I was heading for bed.
All if you who make stuffed peppers, do you cook the meat first. I have always mixed up the ingredients raw (I usually used minute rice, but if I used regular rice,I did cook that first), stuffed the peppers, and put them in the oven. Lately I’ve been watching videos where the people parboil the peppers, and brown the ground beef before mixing in the other stuff and stuffing the peppers.
Seems like a lot of extra work, and dishes to wash, to me.
I cut my peppers in half too, easier to scrape out the insides.
I wanted to do some irk outside today, but I’m not feeling it.
I woke up too early, so I’ll probably take a nap instead.
**sari **- I don’t do stuffed peppers, but they’re close enough to stuffed cabbage… I’ve never pre-cooked the meat, tho I always cook the rice and saute the onions. The only reason I can think of to brown the meat is to drain the fat out.
LUNCH TIME!!!
It’s been a busy morning, and it’s going to be a busy afternoon. One of the other drafters is going on vacation… AGAIN… so I need to do some stuff that was assigned to her. Makes no difference to me, but honestly, I’ve never known anyone to take as much time off as she does! Yeah, but I’m a part-time employee - she’s a full-timer!
Boss told me they got a reminder that my security clearance needs to be renewed, but they’re not going to bother with it, which makes sense. I’ll be gone in just over a month, plus in all the time I’ve been here, I’ve never had to work on anything that was classified. So I saved the company some money - go me!
Greetings (again) from beautiful downtown Maupin, Orygun, where it is a balmy 37 'Murican and sunny!
The dogs have been out to do their bidness and are back in their beds. I, of course, have been awake for since five. I have that peculiar form of insomnia where I usually fall right to sleep and sleep for 4 hours or so, and then wake up and can’t go back to sleep. Last night was a good night. I slept for 5+ hours! Yay!
Yesterday I completed and installed the gate for the back of the deck so that the doggos can’t get into the back yard. There’s still too many ways they can make their escapes from back there. Not sure what we’ll do today. But it will be glorious!
Aren’t they that way everywhere?
Sorry about your health problems Beck Hope they can get you sorted soon.
I’ve been having some digestive issues lately. I suspect it may be diverticulitis again. At least I kinda hope so, cause that can be resolved easily. If I’m not better by the time I get home I’ll have to call my doctor.
C’est le vie.
Forgot to ask: Mom, when you make haluski you make it with noodles, yes?
I’ve read that it was originally made with dumplings and wondered if anybody did that anymore.
Sari when I make stuffed peppers I don’t brown the meat first. I make sure to use a lean meat and I poke a hole in the bottom of the pepper so any grease can run out. I don’t make them often cause hubs says he is allergic but I think he just doesn’t like bell pepper.
5 guys for lunch.
I’ve never made haluski - in fact, up till about 10 years ago, I’d never heard of it, and I don’t recall anything about it when I did have it. Sorry.

And you, a married woman!!! I am shocked!!!
:D:D:D:D:D
Ok, now I’m hungry. Noappetites-ville is not a fun place. At. All.
I’m off to dig in my freezer for something savoury to eat.
I forgot to mention this morning
I am with Ruble on the corn dogs and funnel cake.
While they aren’t nearly as bad liver or bananas, I’d have to be pretty damn hungry to eat either of them.
I made some steak for dinner last night. The leftovers will be tonight’s dinner. I have no idea what I am going to do with it.
Something outside has Ripple in a tizzy, guess I should go see what is going on.
I should be getting some leaves up, but my son is being lazy today and I need his help.
I find hot dogs in any form to fall squarely in the *MEH *category. I’ll eat 'em if I have to, but they’re not my first, or second, or 10th choice. Funnel cake is OK, but I can think of lots of other things I’d rather have instead. And fried stuff on a stick really doesn’t do much for me.
No idea where **FCD **is. I hope he told his employee not to come here today. Daughter and SIL have class tonight. I need to figure out supper for 3 of us. There are leftover veggies from the pot roast, but not a lot of meat. So we shall see.
Tuesday bronchitis update. I am less sick, but a long way to go. My sleep schedule got backasswards yesterday. Prednisone kept me awake til midnight, well, that and binge watching. Coughing woke me at 5. I did get in a long nap this aft. I rallied long enough to pick up books at the library but don’t have the mental or physical energy to read.
Hard to believe that one week ago, I was without electricity and life in general was upside-down for everyone in the area. My plan to consume the frozen contents of my oubliette, err, freezer, continues apace. About 80% of the ham and two chickens have been eaten. That ham was over a year and a half old, so it was well overdue.
Howdy Y’all! I took care of timers, did some errands, did laundry and even ahrned shirts. Go Me! Sup was Hamburger Helper (don’t judge!) peas 'n carrots, and rolls. Chillage now ensues.
Glad all you sickies are feelin’ better today. Continue to do so. I have spoken. So mote it be!
**FCD **showed up shortly after I posted. He and Roxy ate assorted leftovers. I had crackers and an apple. Now I’m counting the minutes till I can put Roxy in jammies and shove her in bed!
Yep, Grandmother of the Year here!
