I told you that posting remarks, that would insult 70% of our posters, is a bad thing. You then talked about the Internet being international: I called that crap because it has nothing to do with it. You KNEW that a lot of people would be pissed off.
Okatym argued that DTL probably was ignorant about the Holocaust and its effects because of his relative distance (in space AND time) to the events. I told her that that doesn’t pardon him at all, since historical knowledge and common courtesy can and must be expected from a Straight Dope poster. Because of the worldwide coverage of posters, he KNEW that this was going to piss people off.
That’s why I called on you in the past, and on DTL now.

because although this messageboard is being posted 99,99% in english, there are phrases, sentances and language practices like sarcasm that can lead to misunderstanding because in/direct translation of the words is not always true.
