OK, We Need One So Here It Is! The MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 37 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 60 and mostly cloudy for the day. Rain is allegedly movin’ in tonight. We shall see. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization (I serve Chalice today), followed by N.O.L. either out somewhere or via forage at da cave. That is TBD. Sup shall be homemade lasagna. A friend, who makes really good lasagna, is makin’ it up and will bring it over to cook. So lasagna, sallit, and cheesey garlic bread shall be supped upon. YUM!

Sam you poor, poor, pitiful thing! I feel so bad that you might have to don a light jacket to go out at night! How ever will you survive!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Today is insulation day. **FCD **wants me to instruct daughter and SIL for whatever reason. The main instruction is DON’T STEP ON THE CEILING!! The trusses are 4’ apart and we have several planks that will span them, and we’re going to split some OSB also. Taking up the rolls and unrolling them will be the easy part. Cutting and fitting around the HVAC units will require some measuring. For the most part, it shouldn’t be a bad job… theoretically…

And we might even see some sun today, and the rest of the week. Huzzah!

Happy Sunday!

My mood today is very low. I am feeling sorry for myself. Hubs finally got an almost full nights sleep so he feels a little better today. My ankle/foot is killing me. Even taking pain medicine it is bad. I just don’t see any way I can continue to help him when I myself need a helper. His friend is going to come take him to few places he needs to go to look at a couple jobs that are completed and need his final approval on. Thank God we have two employees that are keeping the business running and money coming in.

He says he is also going by the store for eggs and juice. I just can’t do it. The friend Dave will go in if he feels too puny. Looking forward I don’t see how this can continue. I have parked myself in the recliner with my foot propped up and shan’t move unless absolutely necessary. I am going to Netflix and chill. This too shall pass I hope.

Happy Sunday!

It’s a cloudy 39 feels like 34 degrees outside.
The sun peaks out every now and then.
Supposed to get up to 43 today, and all this week is supposed to be in the 40s.
The days are getting longer too.

Had a good time at the dog park this morning, wasn’t so cold as to be miserable. The dogs got a lot of running in. Echo runs her little heart out trying to keep up with the big dogs. Ripple will never keep up, but he’ll run a bit with them anyway. He’s such a chunk, not fat, just built like a tank.

Took my son to the college yesterday. He wasn’t even in there 5 minutes and got what he needed. He has to go in early Moonday to get his ID as the ID person wasn’t there. I need to figure out where I can drop him off and pick him up. All the parking around there is metered parallel parking, which isn’t so easy during rush hour. Good way to get rear ended. I think I can drive through the parking lot around the corner without having to pay.

{{{Butters}}} It’ll get better. I’m glad your neighbors are helping you out.

All this talk of insulation reminds me of the episode of Sex Sent Me to the E.R. where two teens snuck up into the attic and were oh so happy to find a fluffy pink blanket up there.

MetalMouse, I am hoping he makes some friends.
He doesn’t want a cell phone, I have been trying to talk him into it. I asked him what if you get invited out after class and you want to go? There are a lot of little cafes and stuff right there. What if you get there and class is cancelled? He could walk home, or go sit in the library, I guess.
If he could drive he could take himself, but then he’d have to pay for parking.

Echo must be wiped out this morning, she went upstairs to bed.

Just got up. Caffeine not yet available. It’s almost eight of the clock, so it’s light out. Tonka didn’t yowl this morning.

ETA: Why did I just hear the wind chimes? Oh, yeah. We have a gale warning this morning.

.

butters, have you considered grocery delivery whilst you are both laid up? I know our Publix and Kroger stores do both delivery and online ordering with store pick up (you don’t even have to get out of the car for that).

Lazy Sunday. Other than prepping breakfasts/lunches for the week, nothing but a trip to the dog park is on the agenda.

{{{Butters}}} - You know it’s going to get better, and you also know it won’t get better as fast as you want it to - healing takes time. I hereby give you permission to wallow for a while, but just don’t forget that soon, you’ll be up and at 'em again! Bitch to us and be grateful for your wonderful neighbors! You know full well you’d do the same for them if necessary!

We’re back from breakfast - duh! I’ve got a load of towels in the washer, a couple of racks of ribs in the oven, and the dishwasher has been loaded. The kids (kids?? they’re in their 30s!) are insulating and **FCD **is doing something out in his office. I’m about to find something to stream while I knit - my current afghan is coming along nicely. It’s a beautiful turquoise! I may post a pic when it’s done - in FB, so if you wanna see, you gotta be my friend!

Onward!!

Good morning, y’all.
{{{Butters}}} feel better soon.
FCM-tell your insulators to wear long sleeves. That fiberglass is it—chy!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. The Invisible Mole People must have made an all out assault on the complex this morning. All the dogs were barking.

Butters, glad the neighbor is helping. Because you need to take care of yourself, too.

Hang in there Butters, it will get better.

You too Vow!

All of y’all have a great day!

Who gets to sleep on the top & who gets to sleep on the bottom? :stuck_out_tongue:

RustingRat, what’s the deal with the stand, they delivered it broken & are making you return it to them instead of picking it up & delivering another one? Also, does credit mean your moolah back or sto’ credit?

Sounds good. You can haz my share of tequila. Ick.

I guess you’re felling better.
Awake again, after a longish nap. I needed it; yestidy was a long day. Got up at dark:15 to drive in the rainy darkness to stand on a ski run & shoot photos of people. Was thoroughly soaked afterwards despite having ‘good’ rain gear on.

PM was at the awards banquet. Our table did good; taking home ⅓ of the awards (out of 7 or 8 tables, SmartAleqs!), including one of the ‘big’ awards. I did my part with two of the four photo categories. Though one of the other winners I thought was awful; that was in the ‘Clever Caption’ category. It was a good shot, & could have held it’s own in the open photo category. It was a reflection shot & the caption was “Reflection”. Ummm, no, that’s not a clever caption, that’s a description of what it was. :smack:

Ride home was a bit whiteknuckleish. 1½ lane wide, twisty-turny, over hill-&-dale, unlit country roads, with no cell reception…in the fog.
Don’t drink & drive folks! I didn’t & made it home unscathed.

Not tequila. Ouzo.

{{{{{Butters}}}}}

Went to Sam’s and majorly scored some used meat; we are now set on cow parts for the month. Other than that the cold and wet continues.

Ouzo ------ proof that something can be a liquid and a solid at the exact same moment.

Tried ouzo once, won’t do it again.

However, I love tequila.
Tequila sunrise was my favorite drink, until I tried a margarita.
Except I only have about 3-4 drinks a year.

Not getting much done today, it’s been a lazy, boring day.

Hang in there, Butters; it’s been a hard couple of weeks and you’re due to be low for a bit, but sounds like you and husband-unit have good friends that’ll help out. Don’t try to go to fast or you’ll relapse. Keep chewin’ our ears about life here in the MMP; we’re with you.

FCM, hope the kids are taking all the precautions dealing with the insulation (I know they are since you and FCD wouldn’t let them do the job otherwise).

Spidey, the stand was delivered broken (not from the store, via UPS I think), but I didn’t know until I opened it. Best Buy wouldn’t pick up unless I bought another from them for delivery, and they had nothing else in stock (plus the way my housework is planned, there wouldn’t be room for assembly anyway) So I got full credit refunded back to me, so the 'replacement" stand will only debit another $300 to the budget. And this is ‘regular’ furniture, not something I put together myself.

Oh,and congrats on the awards; I presume you did deserve them…

Sari, I don’t have a cell phone either, but since I finally got wireless for the house, I guess that is my nextstep…

Got up early and decided to make my Braunsweiger run, and since the Krispy Kreme place was on the way…Then got home and did some reading until it was time for the 1Pm soccer game (the 12U team drew 4-4, played very well). Have purified and done all the banking calculations, so all is right in Casa Hutch. Will fix a big bowl o’Fettuchini Alfredo here in a bit.

All y’all take care.

Word Problem

Johnny likes to walk around his neighbourhood and a small natural park, a distance of two-thirds of a mile. Today Johnny walked six laps around his route in one hour and twenty minutes. How far did Johnny walk? What was his average speed?

I’m OK with words, suck at problems. I’m figuring 4 miles and an average of 20 minutes per mile?

Butters, you’ve been through too much, and it was bound to hit you sooner or later. Call doc tomorrow and ask about pain. He may want you to increase dosage or come in to make sure it’s OK. I also think crutches would have been a good idea. I know how uncomfortable they are, but they do keep your weight entirely off your broken foot; even with a small house, a step is a step.

Also consider getting temporary help (aside from hubs) for things that are just too much for you to do.

I’m finally done with all the forms and patient history stuff. Yay! Now I have to do laundry and prep to leave tomorrow. I keep forgetting to water the geranium on my balcony. I got it as a gift from son and wife and have enjoyed it, but I expected it to die when winter set in so I wouldn’t kill it from neglect.

Supper was yum! I tried a new recipe for peach cobbler - we’ll have it later.

SIL said he got the worst of the insulation done - along the ends where the clearance is the least. They’re probably between 1/4-1/3 of the way done. Daughter was cutting the rolls into batts and they put the cut batts in the attic - SIL will install more on Tues when he’s off work. He needs to get knee pads - he said his knees are hurtin’.

I watched the PBS series Little Women. I’d never read the book, so I felt like I needed to see it. So now I have. It was OK - I expect I’d have loved it as a teen.

Thus endeth my weekend. I’ll knit till I’m sleepy. Chillage shall ensue.

I got my once a year urge to make piroshki. They’ve always been a total pain in the ass because of the elasticity of the dough. Roll it out and it springs right back. But this year, I though “Hey, why not try running it through the pasta roller I have for the KitchenAid?” And whaddya know: success!

This is a food memory from my childhood. My mother would make these little meat pies about once a year and I would be drooling all day in anticipation, and then make myself sick eating them. She got the recipe from a Russian woman in Juneau, AK, probably in the 1930s or '40s. She added rosemary to the meat/veggie mix, as it was her favorite herb, then deep fried the little beauties. The smell makes me swoon. The only problem is that I tend to eat them as fast as they come out of the fryer. A good end to the week.
