OK, We Need One So Here It Is! The MMP

Well, fecal matter.

I got up this am ready to start on the TV cabinet, began to unpack the pile o’parts one-by-one, checking that I had gotten everything, until I got to the top of the cabinet, which is broken in 2-3 places and is pretty obviously not from shipping damage or anything I did. Took pictures and will download to this computer if I can and take it in to Best Buy. If they tell me nothing can be done (which I half-expect), I’ll have to find something else and that’s some more $$ down the tubes.

Needless to say, I am not amused.

FCM, got a new firm mattress for me, never have taken to memory foam. But a good compromise solution.

flyboy, you do eat well. Hope it was as good as it sounded.

OK, back to cussing. All y’all do well.

Gotta go visit a funeral home; someone I used to be Santa for. The OW is out getting her hair done - not for this; routine appointment. Dinner depends on too many variables today so we may just eat out. Other than that the cold and wet continues.

Mr. Howl – I mean Tonka – is yowling. He’s been yowling since six o’clock. OK, I’m up. I wish he’d wait until the Sun at least gives a hint that morning is on its way. You know, just a bit of brightening from black to dark grey. But no, Mr. Howl has to make sure I’m up before the Sun is.

Errands are done, and 2 meatloaves are built and in the freezer. I’ve also got the ice machine going. Roxy will be spending the night with her other grandmother.

From the looks of weather radar, we’re done with the rain for today, but we must have gotten some serious downpours overnight, judging from the standing water in a number of fields. But temps are in the 50s, so no worries about freezing.

Mostly, a quiet day… so far…

Happy Saturday!

It’s a rainy mess outside, supposed to get up to 48.

Echo had lots of fun running through the mud with her park buddies. Everybody needs a bath except Ripple. He can run through the mud and stay clean.

Going to ride out to the college today. See where I’ll be dropping my son off and where to pick him up. It’s only 10-12 blocks away, he could walk it if he had to. He’s going to go in and see where his classroom is and if he needs to get a school ID.
Nobody at the school returned my call or his email, no idea where his class is as there is no room number.

I’ve not been real happy with Frostburg, very hard to find somebody who knows something.
The bill is all screwed up, which is kind of normal for them. For whatever reason they aren’t including his grant from the state. It’s listed under his financial aid, but isn’t listed on the bill. They say I owe them money, but I don’t.

Outside of that just doing the same old general bullshit I do everyday.

{{{Ruble}}}

I would pitch a fit MetalMouse.

Given a choice between PapaJohn’s, PizzaHut, and Dominos, I’d pick Dominos too. Although any of those are better than Little Ceasar.

Well, it’s light out. Tonka went back to bed.

I’m sorry for your loss ruble. One of the unfortunate things about getting older is visiting the funeral home on a regular basis.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, the puppy crate cleaned, a load of towels in the dryer and clothes in the wash. Now for KP. I’m gonna do a lotta loafing this afternoon.

For food from the Gods, ie. Pizza, we have most of the choices available everywhere, as well as a few places the make an art form of Bar Pizza. My problem comes from the fact that I have been informed that for me Tomatoes are verboten. Fortuitously, most places are giving Alfredo as a choice for a sauce, and occasionally pesto.

Got about a hour before the great flood of 2020 arrives. Next weekend the weather guessers are rubbing their hands together and making ominous sounds. Best lay in supplys to hibernate from the weather, of distant plagues.

We have achieved mattress. It will be delivered on Thurs. It’s firm on one side and comfy on the other - huzzah!!

So it’s time to assume the knit position for a while, as my sweetie is going to take a nap.

We despise papa johns also. Oddly enough the Pizza Huts, at least out here in the wilds of Orygun, used to be really good. I haven’t been to one in a long time however. We do have one here though. We have Abby’s and Round Table in our little town. They’re the top end around here, but they’re expensive. .Then there’s a few middle of the road places. There’s a Dominoes 2 blocks away, so I’ll walk over there sometimes, and Papa Murphy’s is 6 blocks. We mostly buy PMs.

I simply refuse to do funerals or anything of that sort unless Wifey forces me to go. I find them disingenuous and barbaric. Just MHO.

Well, I got a shower, finally. Of the 4 holes in my belly, 1 of them still hurts a bit, so that’s an improvement. The pain will come back when the bills start coming in. Medicare doesn’t cover everything.

Hope all you sickos get to feeling better, soonest.

Happy Saturday!

Well, I’m back.

Best Buy wouldn’t give me credit until I brought all the stuff in, and they didn’t have anything on the shelves I wanted to exchange, so they wouldn’t send a truck out to pick up the stuff unless I got a replacement from them. Ended up going back to the furniture place I’m getting my other stuff from and finding one there, it’s more expensive but they will deliver it Tuesday and it’s real furniture this time, with some upgrades possible in the future if I want. Then went home and packed out all the Best Buy stuff (including all the packing I could round up) and took it back to Best Buy, where I wheeled the whole mess right up to the counter and got my credit for returning it. Then gassed up car and coached indoor soccer and now I don’t think I’ll be leaving the house anytime soon.

FCM, good show on the mattress.

Bumba, it’ll get better after a couple of days.

{ruble}, sorry ot hear about the loss of a friend; we’re at the age it happens to damn often, I fear.

Sari, hope the trip to the college goes well, might be good for Sah-son, heavens knows, he might even make friends…

OK, need to be thinking about foraging for dinner. All y’all take care.

Holy Moley. Neighbors provided a pasta dish for tonight and it was yummy. Even sent the garlic bread. Me and hubs had a little outing today as he needed to deliver some papers to the friend who jointly owns a piece of land with him here. And since we were out he asked me to run him by the Moose lodge where he does his Saturday meeting of the minds. We got home to a cooler on the porch from one of my former employees containing Buddy’s Christmas present ( a bag of treats and an ornament with his name) a chocolate pie and real whipped cream, a container tater salad and a bag of shrimp stew and a bag of rice to accompany it. We still have most of the spinach quiche another friend brought day before yesterday and most of a carrot cake delivered by our good friend and part time office lady Darlene. I shan’t have to cook for days. The across the street neighbor said he is bringing ribeyes tomorrow.

I was planning to return to irk on Moanday but looks like it will be Firday the 31st when I have no choice. I have not told work peeps I broke my foot yet.

Hubby’s friend that visits often was by and he is staying elsewhere (thus is a good thing) so while they visited I took a nap. Died really. My lack of sleep for the last few weeks is catching up with me. I have started a new series on MetFlix called the Messiah. Interesting so far.

Happy weekend all.

double post

Y’all please ignore my typos. I am using an IPad. Enough said.

Howdy Y’all! We spiffed da cave, got majik intartoobz pizza for N.O.L., chilled, and then made an et burgers 'n fries for sup. We’ve had pizza and burgers today. Our inner teenage boys were hungry.

{{{Ruble}} sorry about your friend. As others have said, it sucks to be at that age when trips to funeral homes and/or funerals become an almost regular thing.

MetalMouse fecal matter indeed! Glad you were able to find a cabinet you like already put together.

MOOOOOOM yay for new matress. Did that about a year ago. I am certain that will not be my last mattress purchase but I wish it was. Dang thing was expensive!

Yeah. This one wasn’t terrible; she was a fun lady and went fast and clean. She literally passed away while napping. So all in all everyone was either in shock or very accepting and centered. It may sound strange but I don’t mind visitations when it was a good person in good health. The ones I hate are the people who you almost would wish bad things on who lingered on Death’s Door for a year ------ and you need to go from some obligation to a relative of theirs. Those are the ones where I find something else to do.

And afterwards I picked up a used golf bag to display my collection of 1-irons AND scored a FREE 1-iron I didn’t have from Play It Again Sports! Go me!

butters, I’m glad folks are feeding you and your hubby. Sounds yum!

The laundry is done, a project in the studio is wrapped up and am fixing to begin another and supper is cooked and et (chicken fricassee, chive dumplings and sheet pan vegetation with garlic butter) and KP about ready to be done.

When I was walking Nelson this afternoon, I saw da Jungle Prime truck pull into the complex. As there were a couple of deliveries scheduled for my place today, I figured I would likely get to the door about the time he did. Didn’t happen. Just as I was about to take up supper, a neighbor in the next building knocked on the door with my package. Yay for good neighbors!

We have the usual PJ, Dominos, PH pizza delivery here. We also have Jet’s and Marco’s (both of which are much, much better options) but I’m about two inches out of their delivery zone. :frowning: So when I crave pizza, I generally either order from irk for the time that I’m getting off or swing through the sto’. We used to have one called Gourmet Pizza that was absolutely fabulous. They had wonderful vegetable options and were doing vegan pizza long before anyone else was (and it was actually good). Unfortunately, they’ve been gone for a few years now. :frowning:

We went to a Greek restaurant tonight. Mrs. L.A. had some sort of ‘martini’ (dark rum, ouzo, Frangelico…), and we both had Santorini Sunsets (like a tequila sunrise, only with ouzo instead of tequila). We both had Greek salads. She had fettuccine alfredo (not Greek), and I had Greek pork ribs and grilled salmon with lemon-butter sauce and sautéed veg.

We didn’t win the TV, but we got 20% off – which covered the tip.

It was cool but sunny today. Gordie and I got a couple of long walks in, and a quick nap. The stove is not cooperating tonight.

'Es not a messiah, 'e’s a naughty boy!

Yay for a new mattress, Moooommmmm!!!

Bummer about the stand, MetalMouse.

Heated up pretty nicely today. Still plunging into the 60s at night though, so spare a thought for our suffering.
