OK, We Need One So Here It Is! The MMP

Too late for that!

{{{{{Butters}}}}} Ouch! Get better STAT!

And as for Hubby, you need one of these shirts to wear around.

Re: Virgin River We actually know a couple of people who write those kinda books. :stuck_out_tongue: One of them is quite successful at it.

Beck I’m sure everything is gonna work out fine for Poncho and Lefty. I forget which one is the villain in this piece, but I’m old. Anyway, don’t worry so much. A positive attitude helps when somebody is carving up your body.

Speaking of which, I had a lot of pain last night and finally was able to locate the cold pack and apply it. I never should have left the house yesterday. I’m staying in today and will finish binging season 8 of Game of Thrones, which looks to be as annoying as everybody is saying it is. Oh well, just 3 more hours to go.

Happy Fryday y’all!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Swampy, I live in western Washington but not on the coast. There are rain forests on the Olympic Peninsula (the chunk of the state between Seattle and the Pacific ocean), and some locations get well over 100 inches of rain per year. So does Nettie’s hometown, sounds like. My area gets half that. It rains most days between October and March and is cloudy a lot. I love it.

BTW, my DIL is Episcopalian and is a (the?) senior warden at her church. It sounds like a real headache to me. Junior warden, not so much. Does that sound right?

Moooom, hope FCD is feeling better. We don’t want little Roxstar under the weather–or you, either. You haven’t been SMOOCHING FCD, have you?

Butters, how’re the feet, etc. today?

I’m going to head to the gym. Celebrating a Lupus? What Lupus? day!

**nellie **- when he’s sick, he just gets smooches on the forehead.

Roxy had a 3+ hour nap and we’re now waiting for her Mama to come in from the office, and we’re watching Baby Shark videos for the gazillionth time.

If **FCD **is up to it, I’m going to make him take me out for supper. Just because.

Howdy Y’all! Been a lazyish day here. It has rained for most of the day but appears to have stopped at least for now. In a little while I shall make a break of the fast for sup. That will be the most activity I have had all day.

Nellie if a church is without a Priest then Senior Warden can be kind of a headache because he/she has to work with the Bishop to get supply Priests and eventually an Interim Priest until a new one is found. He/She typically heads up that search as well. The (there is only one per Parish) Senior Warden also gets to hear a lot of complaints and sits, at least ex-officio, on the finance committee. Junior Warden heads up all the buildin’ and grounds maintenance stuff and may perform some of the actual tasks in a smaller Parish. St. Pat’s is a medium sizish church that sits on ten acres of grounds. That’s a lot of mowage! Fortunately we have a team (we call ourselves The Ministry of The Back Forty) that handles this. As Junior Warden I get to deal with it when sump’n goes wrong like plumbin’, HVAC, lighting, door locks (that happened this year), etc. So, each has its fun to deal with.

Domino’s will provide supper. We’re outside of the delivery zone of the 2 nearest stores, but we’re out of bananas (OH NOES!!!) so I’m going to Food Lion on my way to pick up supper. Because I’m nice, dammit!

That you are.
Dinner here was srevotfel pasta and fresh garlic bread. Not a bad thing on cold and damp night.

There is a slow leak in the kitchen wall. joy. Having a martini and waiting for the NHL All Star Cometition to start.

You don’t sing Soft Kitty to him? I thought you were nice, dammit!:stuck_out_tongue:

Butters, If I was closer, I’d offer to butler for you 2.*

[sub][sub]*Offer not valid during Happy Hour on Duval St.[/sub][/sub]

Well, the family meeting with the surgical team was illuminating. Son-of-a-wrek and the lil’wrekker were both crying like infants. He’s 31 she’s 21. Gah:smack:
Mr.Wrekker was stoic as ever.
DIL asked all the pertinent questions. That girl don’t play. She took notes. Tested the surgeon like he was a snotty-nosed school boy.
Have I told y’all how happy I am that she’s on my side?
I, as usual was flakey and could not concentrate. Doc asked me twice was I feeling okay. DIL poo-poo’d him saying “She’s always like that”
Man oh man, if I live through this it will truly be a miracle! Saints perserve me.
Of, course Mid-daughter called me on our way home. Had to go through the whole thing again.
I think I’m all set. All I gotta do is stay reasonably well til surgery day.

Today has been a sleepy day.

I took a pork roast out for dinner but never made it. It’ll get fixed tomorrow.

Red, the window is right in the middle of the porch, so no way to go around it.

Howdy Y’all! Bacon and cheese omelets, grits, and toast comprised sup. 'Twas good! All is well in swampland.

Beck glad the meetin’ went well. Son-of-a-wrek and lil’wrekker are just worried about their mama. Glad DIL was there to ask questions. You just stay well until the surgery, OK?

You’re going out to pick up & there’s nothing better than Domino’s???

butters, you banged yourself up well enough that you’re probably walking funny. That alone, not withstanding your other injuries, will make your back sore.

nettie, you may want to try out AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. I know that they each have their versions of contract free service. I haven’t had a contract with AT&T for better than a decade. You will have to purchase your own phone to do it, but that usually isn’t a huge expense (my last phone was a Galaxy A 10 128 for a little over $200).

Mooooooom, even being able to sign onto Medicare at 65, that would still put me on the hook for $36K for three years.

Irked, bought groceries, came home, walked the dog, then went for ribs for supper. Nelson approved that choice. :stuck_out_tongue:

Spidey dude, you kill me!

Becks, sounds like Son-ofa-wrek made a good pick; having a DIL like that is a great help. Hope things go well.

Have dined and called brother, who is back from their first-ever cruise (they liked it). Got the painters to help me bring in my new TV stand, got it unpacked and tomorrow I’ll start the assembly process. Got indoor soccer Saturday a 2pm and Sunday at 1pm, outside of that nothing much to do.

All y’all take care now.

I had a glass of Cooper & Thief Bourbon Barrel Aged Red Wine, then went to pick up some Thai food. Their phone was out of order, so I went in to order. While I was waiting, I had a bottle of Singha beer. Dinner was tom kha gai (my favourite soup), but it wasn’t 5-star spicy. I put in a bunch of red pepper flakes. I also had chicken satay and three butterfly shrimp and the rest of the wine. Mrs. L.A. had tom kha vegetable soup. I left three shrimps for her, and she has an order of crab rangoon. She’s getting over a cold, so the soup is just what the doctor ordered. (Well, what I ordered.) I’m having a glass of Yellow Tail Big Bold Red.

Swampy, I talked to DIL, and turns out I got it wrong again. She is, in fact, the junior warden. I guess I promoted her because I think so highly of her. Apparently she coordinates the volunteers who clean, mow, etc., and that’s the headache. I love the Ministry of the Back Forty!

Beck, glad the meeting went well. Sounds like your family–weepy or not–have your back, and of course, all us Dopers do, too.

Nellie I’ve been thinking. (Rut-ro).
My offspring are pretty darn useless. Lovable, of course, but useless.
Mr.Wrekker is useless, big, strong and imposing, but useless.
My DIL and perhaps the oldest grandwrek (all of 6.5) are the really helpful ones. Thank the stars above.
I think I’ll get through this, by hook or crook and DIL.
She told me tonight as I was fretting over details, “Stop it, let me worry about that”
Holy crap. I lucked out with her.

OK, maybe kids and hubs are useless, but at least they won’t be ignorant and useless, so they won’t be expecting you to do/feel/act better than you can during recovery. My ex was worse than useless when I was sick or recovering from surgery: didn’t want to know and started pestering me to get up and do stuff after 24 hours.

Your DIL is a gem. I really like that gal, and I don’t even know her. I have a feeling she’s awfully fond of you, too.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 42 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 58 and N.O.S. for the day. We shall spiff da cave today and I foresee that as the day’s major activity. Sup shall be burgers 'n fries. I made the burgers up last night just cause. No idea why I am up so early. I woke up and felt like I had slept enough, so here I am!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. I’ll be checkin’ out teh intartoobz for a while as OYKW is, needless to say, still asleep and I do not wish to disturb him. I’m nice like that.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

The other choices are Papa John’s and Pizza Hut. I boycotted PJ’s years ago because John is an ass. And PH is too greasy for my tastes. Oh, and there’s Ledo’s, but they use canned mushroom - just NO! Remember, I live in the middle of nowhere. Besides, Dom’s isn’t that bad - certainly not as flavorless as then used to be.

I’m hoping to drag **FCD **out for mattress shopping today. He’s finally decided to listen to me and go for 2 XL Twins, because we can’t sleep on each other’s mattress of choice. I like the memory foam and he likes a very firm bed. So we’ll get one of each, and with the mattress pad and sheet, it’ll still feel like one big bed. Then we’ll give our not-very-old mattress to daughter and SIL since theirs is an old IKEA mattress.

I also need to go to Aldi, and I’d like to wash a load of jeans. And daughter and I need to take 2 sheets of OSB from the basement to the shop to be cut in half so SIL can use them as moveable flooring when he’s installing the insulation. Then they’ll become floorboards for the attic over the garage - I’m determined to organize the mess that’s up there.

Happy Saturday, all!!
