OK, whadja get?

I haven’t opened it yet, but I have a pretty good idea as it says ‘GAP’ on the bag and I bought it last week.

TheKid spoiled me rotten. I’m currently cuddled up in the grey wool duster-length sweater, she also gave me a shorter black cardigan, a raisin colored shirt, a grey sweatshirt, pajamas, socks, iTunes GC and Amazon GC, lip balms AND candy. Lots of candy. Twizzlers, vanilla Tootsie Rolls, Life Savers and Dots. I’ve been on a sugar high for 24 hours.

The grey sweatshirt is kind of a joke - 30ish years ago I gave my dad a grey sweatshirt for Christmas. He was not a sweatshirt kind of guy, so I took it back. To say I wore the hell out of it is an understatement. It’s sheer in places, the collar and wists are shredded, misshapen… and I still wear it. Not out in public, of course. TheKid hates it. She’s tried “accidentally” throwing it out a few times. She hopes I can let go of the old one for this one. We’ll see.

Other than the Secret Santa exchange from here, she is the only person I received gifts from.

From husband, nothing, as agreed.
From brother, a bottle of wine…hey! We weren’t going to exchange gifts either!
From mother, a bottle of wine and what we really needed, some pillowcases and dish towels.
From daughter, cosmetics. This is a great gift because we’re both interested in makeup, and it doesn’t need to cost her a lot. This set is lip gloss and blush, two things I never use, so they will be fun to play with.
From son, two Whitman’s samplers and a promise of something else later, which didn’t get delivered on time.
From stepdaughter, (a first!) a bookstore gift certificate.
At work, I got candy, a cat calendar, and a bookstore gift certificate.

Huh, I did pretty good this year.

A Cleveland Browns jersey - number 73, Big Joe Thomas (of course).

Moccasins from my wife.

Two watches from my mom and dad.

Regards,
Shodan

About my favorite is a tshirt from my brother (who now has a 7 week old son) that says “great brothers eventually get promoted to uncle”.

I was actually wondering that, too, but haven’t yet gotten a chance to check.

And one of those brand-new belts I got because my old one wore out… wore out. It’s one of those with nine strands braided together, and after a single day of wearing it, three of the strands broke. Return counter, here we come!

You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!

That’s my favorite kind of belt, but they do fray easily.

Enginerd - Congratulations!

Congratulations, Enginerd. My middle sister was a Christmas baby, too. I still remember the big Christmas stocking the hospital sent her home in. I hope your babe gets one, as well. May you, your baby and the rest of your family be blessed with good health and much happiness.

The gifts I got, included the first season of The Big Bang Theory. I only started watching the show about a year and a half ago and think it’s the best comedy on in probably the last 20 years or so.

Also, got gift cards for Fred Meyer ($50) and Bartell’s (a local drug store chain, $25,) a couple of calendars, a pair of framed pictures of a particularly spectacular sunset we had here in August, some unframed pictures of my youngest sister and her daughter on the the trip to Mexico they just got back from and I think that’s it.

Get? I didn’t get nothin’–I had to pay $50 and pick up the garbage in the snow.

Actually, I got some nice socks. Woo, exciting.

I got exactly what I asked for – a couple of denim shirts and a new belt. The wife got what she asked for, a new pair of sneakers, plus a bottle of Disaronno. We’ve already pretty much got everything we want and not much room for more.

My wife and I pooled our presents this year- we bought ourselves a 40inch 1080p LED smart TV, a soundbar, and a 70inch 4k LED smart TV. It was a good year.

I GOT A KITCHENAID MIXER!!!
My sister knew how much I wanted one and how long I’ve wanted one so she told my mom, my other sister, and my fiance that they should pool together to get me one. AND THEY DID!!!

The best part is when they were deciding on the color, my fiance said he has to look at it so he’d pick (they couldn’t agree). He chose the color I wanted (silver) and didn’t even know it was the one I wanted!!! We happened to pass by a display in Macy’s and I told him if I ever got one I’d get the silver and he made some comment about it being the ugliest color available, knowing full well that there was a silver one hidden in the basement! :D:D:D:D:D:D

I got it on Christmas Eve so I made two loaves of bread that night for our Christmas dinner and I’m making cinnamon rolls right now.

My fiance’s parents also got us a new TV for our bedroom. They had given us a hand-me-down a few months ago and it died a week later so they felt horrible and insisted on getting us a brand new one.

They also gave me two shirts, a new travel mug, and a pair of pj pants with cute fat little sheep on them.
I haven’t exchanged gifts with my parents yet.

One of us! One of us! May you enjoy it in good health!

Probably not, especially since I just made 12 cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting and I’m going to be home alone with them until about 11pm tomorrow. I’ve already eaten two.

I got my insurance settlement early, so yesterday I bought this, ok not THAT one but one that looks exactly like it. 2013 Mazda3 Sport Sedan. I’ll have it on Monday.

A Bosch router, a very large bench vise, and a set of Zombie Gnomes.

 What attachments did you get? I have been eyeballing the silicon scrapy mixer blade.

And wonder about the glass bowl with measurements on it. It seems like it would get heavy, and I don’t remember thinking measurements on the bowl would be helpful ever.
