I think OpalCat’s post is exactly what MPSIMS is all about. It pales in comparison to some TMI threads where taste is concerned. Techchick68 I think your dead on but I suppose different mods have different standards of what constitutes bad taste. I agree that Dexter’s is a bit more distasteful but also not close-worthy.
What bother’s me most about this is that I’ve seen posts closed by mod’s for completely irrational reasons, obviously because it touched a personal chord, and yet they refuse to admit they may have acted rashly after a cooling off period. And every other mod rushes to their defense and then all the sycophants jump on board looking to curry favor. I love to admit when I’m wrong and respect those who do as well. For the most part, however, mods do an outstanding job here.
Yeah, I saw that since techchick documented the timing. I think that makes the parody thread seem like more of a cheap shot. However, I don’t think a thread’s being locked precludes a member joking about it in another thread.

Cajun Man: good and bad taste are notoriously subjective concepts. While I realize that some gray area of “I know it when I see it” is unavoidable, I hope you will pardon me if I join the group who’d like a bit more understanding of what you mean by ‘in bad taste.’
Nah, but if the mods have closed Thread A for a specific reason, they really grouse at members who open Thread B that’s all about Thread A and offends for the same reason that Thread A did. I’ve been on the receiving end of moderator ire for that, even when I thought I’d sufficiently distinguished my new thread from a simple continuation of the preceding closed thread.

Well, just for the record: I wasn’t trying to insult OpalCat, I was trying to have some fun, which is why I put it in MPSIMS instead of the Pit.
This is not the first time that Opal has told us about her bodily fluids, after all. Most of her past comments about her excretions have been very funny and some have been pretty disgusting (although still usually pretty funny).
I therefore thought she would get a kick out of a thread dedicated to bodily secretions throughout history, and I thought others would join in the fun.
Like: “Betsy Ross originally wanted the flag to be all white, but she was having her period when she started sewing, and had a li’l accident, and thought the best way to hide it was to make it into a whole long red stripe or two.”
