I just had lunch. I’m going to have to come back and do this poll when I’m hungry, because looking at all the options made me queasy.
I’m supposed to specify my fruit - mixed berries
And of course you realize that I will now have to stop on my way home at a restaurant that serves brekky all day. My cup of soup in front of me is no longer adequate after that mental feast.
Baked beans and black pudding!
Thanks! As I mentioned last time, no eggs for me.
The last time I had eggs (last Sunday) I had them fried hard (in a raw onion ring) with chips*, beans, grilled tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, sausage patties, HP sauce and several Hawaiian Screwdrivers.
A great way to start a day!

Grilled tomatoes!
I chose all the options I would be happy to eat, not all the ones to form a coherent meal - eggs with latkes, biscuits and gravy, and crumpets sounds a little disjointed. (But probably still good).
Bacon, biscuits & gravy, sausage patty, steak, scrapple, [black pudding]
Hashbrowns, home fries, [chips]
Rye toast, sourdough toast, English muffin
Coffee, tea, OJ, [grapefruit juice]
Not all for one meal, though!
My flatmates and I used to go out for breakfast when we were in Scotland. I always ordered the mixed grill: an egg, chips, a sausage, black pudding, and toast. Usually ordered a raspberry shake to go with it.
When I was on the boat, my favourite breakfast was a sandwich made of an “everything” omelette (usually ham, cheese, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers) between two slices of French toast.
What happened to fried tomatoes? Black Pudding? Mushrooms?
- do the crumpets come with clotted cream?? that’s the only way to savor them…
super hungry now…
I like bagels, but I don’t care for cream cheese; I put butter on them.
I also like ketchup on hot dogs.
Lately I usually have my soft fried eggs on a small bowl of kimchi.
I checked off a lot of the sides, but my favorites would be bagel, cream cheese, and some sort of salmon. Although corned beef hash and toast are a close second.
Tea please. Fruit can be almost anything except oranges. Juice beverages preferred are grapefruit, cranberry, and apple.
Along with my over-easy eggs, I’d like link sausage, fried taters or hash browns, orange juice, and wheat toast with lots of butter. And I’ll follow all that with a fresh doughnut, unless you have some real good strawberry jam, in which case, to hell with the doughnut; I’ll just have another slice of toast. Add some strong dark-roast coffee with a dollop of heavy cream, and my meal is complete.
Now my mouth is watering – is Lent over yet?
I normally wouldn’t have too much with eggs, I’m not a big eater at the best of times, but to keep in the spirit of the question I chose various things I think go with eggs, especially for breakfast and if I’m at a hotel. In this instance it’s largely a “full english fry-up” eggs, sausage, beans, toast. Beverage varies between fruit juice or milk.
I only checked what I’d be likely to ask for on a single hypothetical breakfast: corned beef hash, sourdough toast (butter is assumed), OJ and coffee. I love almost all of the choices, but I can only eat so much at a sitting.
I’d have been pleased to see mimosas or Blody Marys on the list, but I can be philosophical about it and buy my own booze.
No, but you can always give up self-denial.
I found many pleasing options on the list, but the OP obviously hasn’t been exposed to the glories of Mexican Breakfast. (OK, now I need to visit (the late Jim) Goode’s Taqueria this weekend. Texan & Mexican!)
I’m trying to cut down on baked goods, potatoes and added sugar, so I picked any of the meat sides, coffee and fruit. Unless the fruit is from a can, though I’ve had good luck lately with restaurants serving fresh cut fruit cups.
Of course I could – and break a promise I made to myself.
Back to the original question, another item I could add to the list would be a stack of pancakes, either with real maple syrup and butter, or strawberry sauce. Blueberries would be good, too.
