Okay, Then. Let's Do Your All-Time FAVORITE Commercials!

I like the Verizon commercial where the innocent-looking guy is meeting the scary gangster-type out in a deserted area, and the scary gangster-type forgets all about whatever business they were going to conduct because he’s so amazed that the innocent-looking guy is actually getting service.

The “Canadian Car Chase” where the cop and the perp are trying to push their cars out of the snow. Sirens going and everything. Cracks me up every time.

Where’s the Beef?

I’ve Fallen, and I CAN’T GET UP! So deliciously dramatic and silly low-budget kitsch at the same time.

The official beer of Ireland

Bob Uecker for Miller Lite: "Must be in the front row. “Uecker seats” is part of our family’s lexicon.

His second commercial is almost as good: Link

The agency I work for created this one. Alas, the branding could have been stronger, as it’s not for Mug…it’s for A&W. :stuck_out_tongue:

1984, for sheer awesomeness (even though I hate Apple).

Soft Corinthian Leather, for the Schmaltz factor.

The Fun Is Back!, for the 12-year-old nostalgia factor.

And my all-time favorite, a political commercial: Daisy, because in retrospect LBJ had no right to make a commercial like this, and it amuses me that he got away with it.

YES! My all-time favorite, followed closely by two other ads in that campaign:

I’m Batman!

I invented pants!

Damn you! I must have missed that one when it was on TV. Now I need a tissue, but only have a 1000-Bhat note.

:smack: D’oh! I just watched it again, and you’re right, it IS for A&W. No idea why it took me so long to notice this, or why I associated the commercial with Mug.

The awesome 1989 British Airways commercial, with mesmerizing music based on the “Flower Duet” from Lakmé.

Short but sweet.

Hands down, the Nextel Dance Party. This commercial actually makes me sad that Nextel merged with Sprint, because now it’s never on TV. Thank Og for YouTube, I guess.

Hmm, 33 posts in and no love for Joe Isuzu?

There was a commercial for some brand of kitten food from about a decade ago that was just awesome. It showed, IIRC, a little orange kitten who didn’t meow–every time he opened his mouth, you heard an engine revving. Then, you saw an orange blur tearing around the house, with racecar sound effects.

Having found four kittens in our front yard and taking care of them ourselves, I can attest: that commercial is dead on. And awesome.

Tiny House!

I just wanna make an omelet!

Stan Freberg’s Sunsweet Prunes commcial (with Ray Bradbury)

The Verizon Christmas pony.

Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah to You! - so weird and funny, I can watch it over and over and it still cracks me up.

Stan Freberg and Ann Miller sell The Great American Soup.

ETA: Stay with it for the punchline.
