Okay, Then. Let's Do Your All-Time FAVORITE Commercials!

Similar.

I wonder where the Bud Light Porn commercial would have aired…very risque for American TV and 2 minutes long…funny though.

Another Bud Light Ad

Jeep Commercial

Chevy Truck Ad featuring T.J. Thyne from Bones.

The Jeep Liberty commercial where the guy is driving down the road singing to the radio, and is joined by a squirrel, some birds, a wolf, etc.

Chrysler Concorde–apparently too “racy” for the general public.

(Couldn’t find this on YouTube–so you’ll have to tolerate yet another 15 seconds of a GEICO pitch to get to the good commercial. Watching commercials to get to view commercials??? My God, what have we become!!!)

Or, as we D&D geeks refer to it, the Fiendish Dire Pony.

Going old school…

Hey kid, catch.

Another One Bites The Dust

This isn’t quite the advertisement that I consider my favorite, but it’s close to it:

The version of this advertisement that I consider my favorite is a trimmed version of this. I saw it four times when I was in England in 1994, and I consider it a masterpiece of telling a story in just thirty seconds while simultaneously selling a product and making a clever pun. The version I saw apparently omitted nearly all of the first 26 seconds or so of the version I link to above. It also apparently omitted the shots of the groom from 43 seconds into the commercial and afterwards. I never realized until just now that there was a longer version of this commercial.

Mean Joe!

That one always made me smile, Oakminster!

Thanks!

Q

And I’m a mostly straight guy.

I’ve got two, both for cars:
The Nissanad with GI Joe and Barbie and music by Van Halen. I used to be ambivilent about the band but started listening to them a bit after I saw the ad; I never wanted to buy a Nissan though.

The semi-Rube Goldberg Hondaad. I’m facinated anything in the same vein.

My wife and I saw this one during Lost last night and laughed out loud. Very funny!

Best. Commercial. Ever.

And I’m mostly straight as well.

About 10 years ago, there was a series of Budweiser commercials featuring ants carrying a bottle of Budweiser to their anthill. One of them involved an aardvark getting his nose stuck in a bottle, saving the ants from being eaten. “Staying Alive” by the Bee Gees was played during this one. Here is the original ant commercial:

I’m not sure I’d call them all-time favorites, but some of the Budweiser “Leon” commercials were kinda cute. Here’s one.

A local law firm is running two commercials that are basically people talking. The guy is complaining about how he was on his best game ever and had four levels left when the electric company cut him off. The woman is complaining about how the pain was like a machette from a paper cut and the paper was way too sharp. Both want to sue. The actors are completely dead serious.

The punch line is to “make sure you have a case” before you contact them.

Couldn’t find any actual commercials for this defunct clothing store’s regional ad campaign, but here’s the jingle:

Terry Tate Office Linebacker

Advertising…the NFL?

That.was.awesome.

“Now I’m on a horse.”

I got the best mom, she rocks so hard, yeah!

I hated this ad so badly when it came out in 2007 I wrote an angry blog post about it. Now I find myself singing that stupid little song from time to time. It grew on me.
