Who you callin’ “little?” Uh . . . never mind.

Sylvania abuts Toledo on the northwest side. But I’ll be in Chicago the weekend of 8/16 thru 8/19.

Oh man! For 45 smackers an hour I’llwatch the passel of little… the little dears.

Now Zap, I love you like a brother, but 45 semoleans an hour, dude, we’re talking serious cash here. (Now where did I leave that Jim Fowler® L’il Peace Keeper™ Dart Gun?)

Shibb, the Wiener Dog Nationals is a Big Deal Wiener Dog race. 100 Wieners dogs in ten heats of ten dogs. And all procedes go to charity. (It’s a Wiener Dog charity, rescue or something, but still charity.)

And if we’re having wee little gladiatorial games, I’d suggest weight divisions. Katcha is a hoss.
-Rue.

Looks good from down here in Lou’ville, though I’m pretty sure I won’t be bringing the AMX up-- it doesn’t seem to like Cinci.

If we go to the weiner dog nationals, I want photos of me before the big sign and it will be all I can do not to make that my Christmas card photo this year.

Cranky, I think that the Wiener Dog Race is this weekend, that was a Rue hijack for Cincinnatians, not something to do over that weekend. Maybe Zappo and I can steal the sign.

thinksnow, c’mon, man, bring the AMX. That’s a really fast car and not some brand of bowling ball, right?

So does that mean my beloved Cranky is considering a trip down yonder hyah?

Heh. We can try to steal the sign, Shibb, but it’ll be difficult what with me being in Philadelphia this weekend while the wiener dog nationals are on. . .

Ok, I’m gonna stop being lazy and get organizing any minute. Actually, work is stupid busy and the SDMB is my procrastination du jour. I have a ridiculous amount of stuff to get done by noon today. So after this I won’t be in here until this afternoon/tonight. Especially as the weather is freakishly nice here in the 'Nati these past few days, so I want to take my kids out to dinner, the park and ice creams tonight.

So, please, a show of hands:
[ul][li]If you’re coming, and percent probability[/li][li]If you’re interested in Friday night and Saturday or just Saturday [/li](special side note to Zappo: when you say you’ll be here for dinner, approximately what time?)
[li]Are you interested in a family friendly Saturday day activity (fleamarkets, canoeing, Zoo, Museum center, Aquarium, Art Museums, picnic, Young’s Dairy farm (not exactly anywhere near Cincinnati), etc. Rue had a bunch of ideas, I don’t know if I caught them all here. Do you need a place to sleep? (Include [body count and specific needs)[/li][li]Are you bringing children? Do their parents know? Are you interested in a sitter for Saturday night?[/li][/ul]

Please let me know on all counts so I can make adequate arrangements.

Also, other than the illustrious Zappo there may be other surprise, out-of-town Dopers! I can’t say who right now, but if you e-mail to me I’ll see if I can let you know.

RSVP!

Hm. Well. That weekend is filling up. But I want to see you people!

Damndamndamndamndamndamn.

I really want to attend this thing (if nothing else, than to see belladonna in the flesh…Me-ow!!!), but I don’t think I’ll be able to.

Can I phone this one in? Someone email me a cell phone number, and I’ll call during the festivities…?

Suuuuuurrrre! I’ll be there!

I give Friday night a 62% probability (but I’m real easy and can be talked into just about anything).

I have commitments for Saturday morning, but maybe there can be a link into the Official Zappo’s In Town Fun Fun Fun Plans. (Me an’ selected bits of Clan DeDay are doing this out of Ft. Ancient. Should be rolling in about 9-ish and hitting the river near 10 a.m. Be there or be somewhere else.) But that should wrap up about noonish. (And it’s remarkably near the Flea Market.)

Saturday night is a firm 98%.

Family Friendly would be swell, but not a deal breaker either way.

I have my own place to sleep, but a Belgian chocolate on my pillow would be nice.

I’ll bring children if it will make everyone else feel better, but no real plans. ('Cause I don’t know what to plan for yet. Sheesh.) And I have Grandma DeDay on retainer for that evening.

I think that covers everything.
-Rue. (who thinks ol’ Shibb mis-linked his e-mail)

Well you get full points on correctly filling out the questionaire. But I didn’t so much mislink my e-mail as just wanted to have something bright and shiny down in that corner. I had no idea how to actually link my e-mail, although I probably could have figured it out by looking at the code behind someone’s username.

So, would you at all be bringing the Little Woman or the DeDaysters with?

(BTW can’t we just click on your little e-mail button thingy there?)

Survey says:

**If you’re coming, and percent probability **
Yes. 90% probability for either day

**If you’re interested in Friday night and Saturday or just Saturday **
What do you have in mind, dinner, all day event or combination?

**Are you interested in a family friendly Saturday day activity (fleamarkets, canoeing, Zoo, Museum center, Aquarium, Art Museums, picnic, Young’s Dairy farm (not exactly anywhere near Cincinnati), etc. Rue had a bunch of ideas, I don’t know if I caught them all here. **
Maybe, or how about going to the boat to gamble? Belle terra or Argosy?

**Do you need a place to sleep? (Include [body count and specific needs) **
Naw, we should be able to make it back home.

Are you bringing children? Do their parents know? Are you interested in a sitter for Saturday night?
No kids, my son just doesn’t like to party with the 'rents.

And if the date is not absolutely firm, Has anyone considered getting together for the Riverfest-WEBN fireworks? Sunday before labor day on September 1? It is a humongous party on the river, fireworks, Reds game that day.

We could meet for dinner on Saturday, maybe at Howl at the moon or one of the other restarants on the river, then spend the whole day on the river at the festivities. We usually camp out on the Serpingine wall early Saturday morning and guard the spots all day. When the huge crowd starts showing up after 4 o clock or so,and tries to sit on our blankets, we beat the interlopers off with baseball bats. It’s all a bit of harmless fun.

So this is happening next weekend then? I can probably show up on Sat. Do we know what the fun will be yet. I’ll have to look and see how far away it is so I can give a good extimate on when I can be there.

If we’re doing Grown-up Carousing Friday night there’s a 40% chance of the Little Woman joining in. That jumps up to 80% on Saturday night (since Grandma DeDay is on the case).

If we do something family-ish Saturday, it’s even money on four of us, somewhat better odds for me and the older boy. (That would be Soupo.) It depends on weather and events.
-Rue. (waitin’ and seein’)
P.S. And you forgot the fonue restaurant as a possible draw. Now that hurts, seeing as it was my best idea. That or taking over a Skyline for the night. (Cincinnati chili, it grows on ya!®)

Bowling! DoperBowl! Now there’s another idea. (Not a great idea, but still, it’s something.)

As an Ann Arborite, but a native Cincinnatian, I tend to be in and out of the Queen City, and still cry when I think that Buzzy is thinking of selling Uncle Woody’s…

There is a 60% chance that I’d be there, there is a 40% chance that I could catch up with ya folks for at least a smidgeon of time because I’ll be down that weekend for business (helping a friend move house into condo)…

I wouldn’t need lodging, and I don’t have kids (that I know of) to bring along… just to know where folks will be –

Well, I was trying to get a feel for numbers before trying to figure out what to do for food. Don’t forget that we spent six months in Geneva, while not the fondue capital of the world, is darned close. I bet youse don’t even know what a forfeit is! Heck we even had a raclette cellar near our apartment.

What was I talking about? Oh, yeah, dinner Saturday will be variable depending on who and how many are coming.

And I’m a little disappointed that no one is grilling me on the mystery guest yet*. It’s not TalkingHead but I’ll be more than happy to have some freshmeat show up. I mean a nice Ann Arborite. Although I didn’t think that native Cincinnatians ever left this place.

PS: I’ve even been teaching my kids to say, “that’s Jake”.

*Everyone must be in on the surprise.

Checking in.

I plan on coming for Saturday/Saturday Night.
Probablity 75%.

Now that it looks like it’s leaning toward kid-free on most everyone’s part, I’m rethinking bringing Phil down. I don’t want to be toting him around all day trying to keep up. My mum usually keeps him for me Saturday nights anyway, so I’m pretty sure she’d be able to take him for me earlier if I ask real nice.

Regardless, I’m totally up for whatever family-event gets the most votes. I suggested the fleamarket, so I’m obviously hip to that, but the Zoo or Aquarium sounds fun. And I haven’t been canoeing in years! I’m game for whatever, schedule depending.

If things go late Saturday, I’ll need a place to stay, or a reccommendation for a cheap hotel. Specific needs? Umm, a pillow and a 3’ x 5’ patch of flatness.

Hope I can make it! I’ll know 100% by Monday.

bella

That, we can provide. But I am curious about those specific dimensions…

I really really really really want to go.
I’ll have to ask Mr. Cynical, but I don’t know if I can pass up an opportunity to meet **Rue[b/]!
