(Old) A Big Birthday in the MMP

happy birthday, swampbear!

Holy banana peppers, my lovely friends.

We had the biggest order I’ve ever seen last night. Started at nine-hundred-dollars something, but some of them were rung in wrong so the deluxes were supposed to be just cheese, wound up at eight hundred something… look, it was still more than my monthly rent.

The pizza operation alone would’ve put an average army to shame.

I was on fryer, and all I remember is it was six orders of broccoli cheddars, six jalapeño poppers, and ten mozzarella stick orders.

Plus whatever the hell every other average Joe wanted. (“You want a dozen wings? You gonna WAIT.”)

We have six fryers. You double things up when this happens.

We got that entire order out without a hitch. That was some next-level cooperation and communication from the entire crew; we all could sense that nobody could drop a ball.

I caught S.M. in the walk-in later, and said, “That would not have happened without you in charge. I’m not even sucking up or kissing ass, I’m just straight telling facts,” and she smiled and admitted, she was freaking out the whole time.

I said, “Well, the Oscar goes to YOU!” and she said she knew we’d feed off her; if she freaked out, the crew would’ve lost it.

My anxiety went through the roof just reading that.

I was going to ride my motorcycle (the operational one) to my Perry O’Donnell appointment tomorrow. Of course it will be raining. :frowning:

Busy morning. An Account Executive signed up a company as a new member. The company already reports their commercial account receivable data to one Credit Reporting Agency. They want to send their data to us to report two BMCRA and another CRA, and to our company’s National Database. They filled out the paperwork in record time, and sent me their current file. I can print off the Data Agreement at home, but The Spousal Unit’s printer won’t do multi-page .pdf files, and BMCRA complained last time that the Agreement was too blurry. Since I’m telecommuting tomorrow because of the dental appointment, I may have to take the Agreement to a place down the road to have them make me a .pdf after I sign it. I’m sure the company will reimburse me.

And there was a contact change at another company. I’ve updated their Contact page in our system, and duly put notes into the Notes tab.

:balloon::balloon::tada::champagne::clinking_glasses::birthday::gift::tada::balloon::balloon: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWAMPY!!

I hope it’s a great one!

It’s very hot and dry again here, after almost a week of afternoon/evening rain and temps in the lower 90’s. Of course, the weeds are going wild from the water and I’m going to need to get up early to take care of them without getting heatstroke. The leaves on my baby apple tree are curling, which I was thinking was a sign it needs more water, but now I read it can also be a sign of too much water. It’s still growing, though, so I’m just going to keep on trying to give it optimal moisture.

Happy Moanday to all!

Holy shit that’s amazing, hope the tips were commensurate, did you guys get advance notice?

Would @swampbear hope ya don’t mind a birthday blast from the past for your July 29ers happy birthday all ya’lls

Yeah, mine jacks up whenever we go there, and of course the dogs sense it. Luckily, none of them are biters. I dubbed the collective descriptive “a maelstrom of doxies”.

Yeesh. It took an hour, and three stops, before I found a place to get that two-page Agreement turned into a .pdf file. First I went to the storage place down the street, which I thought did business services. Nope. They said the nearest place was Blaine Postal Center, a few miles away. Nope. They sent me to the UPS store, where I had to wait in two lines.

Now I need to figure out lunch.

HoTwdy Y’all! I forgot to mention earlier the other excitatement of the day. Twuck got dropped off at the hospital yet again for repairs. Hopefully that will be done in a couple of days. N.O.L. at Longhorn’s was good. I had two beerverages with my meal, so had a pleasant buzz for a bit, which was followed by nappage. Then we day drank while watchin’ a tstorm. The fun never stops at da cave!

Thanks everyone for the bday wishes. Y’all are the bestest!

MOOOOOOM I may have nightmares over those outfits! :astonished:

Cookie glad y’all enjoyed the bbq. Also, yay on dodgin’ traffic to and fro!

Dicey a staycation is never a bad thing.

sari that sounds real productive today. Happy belated bday to Echo!

shoe YIKES! That musta been some kind of partay to order that much stuff. Glad it all went off without a hitch.

chela thanks for the blast from the past and the bday wishes. I haven’t done one of those in years.

I did the poke sous vide for supper - YUM! Sides were corn, broccoli, and the cantaloupe from my garden (megaYUM!) Food Lion had a key lime pie on sale and MIL was saying the other day that she had a hankerin’, so I bought one. While I like them, I can easily not eat it, which is good. If it had been a chocolate silk pie, I’d have been in trouble. I’ve dropped about 12# in the last month, so huzzah for skipping dessert. Dishwasher is washing, rain is falling, thunder is booming in the distance.

I moved some money around at the credit union, so we’ve got the funds to pay for the boat stuff. One of the things we need is a particular circuit breaker - to the tune of $500!!! Boat crap can be $$$ - but if we try to cheap out and something goes wrong, insurance will quite likely refuse to cover it. No sense risking a $100K boat over a $500 breaker.

I keep telling myself - we saved that money for our retirement. This is our retirement. Shut up. :stuck_out_tongue:

Time for some chillage before bed. Since I woke around 4, I’m hoping to crash early. Off to recline.

Try as I might, I can’t figure out what invisible trays are.

Happy birthday swampy! :birthday:

I’m envious! Full disclosure: I really like that Nelson’s bestest dog park buddies are weenie dogs and weenie mixes.

Once again, it was Monday all damn day. On the bright side, I have enough work to keep me in my area for the next month.

I swung by the apartment office to renew my supposedly prepared lease. It wasn’t ready and she wanted some insurance documents so’s I wouldn’t have to pay the waiver (that comes up about once a year and I get refunded).

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dearest Swampy
Happy Birthday to you!!!

I hope you enjoyed my family’s tradition of singing to the birthday celebrant

So you are seventy today swampbear! I don’t know all the Dopers birthdays but I know you are six months ahead of me. Wish I could have baked you a cake.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWAMPBEAR!!!

Today was much too productive to properly honor swampy’s birthday, but I’m sure he will forgive me.

We had a BIG stack of broken down moving boxes in the living room which was making it hard to move around, so I bundled them all up and they are in the carport now. Hubs took a pic to post online, I do hope someone wants them because otherwise they are going to the landfill.

We finally got his electric recliner set up and plugged in, so now he can have proper naps. The back of my recliner is in the closet in my room, once that has been assembled I’ll be able to finish moving my stuff into my room and then mostly the only things left to unpack will be the wall art, tchotchkes and their shelves.

When we bought the house, we also bought all of the occasional tables (coffee, side, end and corner tables) because it was easier to make a bid on the lot (hundred bucks for 14 wood tables) than try to figure out which ones we really wanted from pictures. I’ve got a pretty good idea as to which ones we will be keeping so the rest will be put up for free.

The ones I don’t want are very nice antiques, but I just don’t want to bother trying to find a buyer.

We brought the linens and bedding for the full bed I had in my room, but when we gave the full bed we bought her to our housekeeper she said she didn’t want them. She was going to give her daughter a princess room and my old lady bedspread would clash. (she didn’t say it like that, she was much nicer, but I ain’t stoopid.)

I put the bedspread on the cat lounge in my room so now they have another layer to shed on.

The plumber will be back out Wednesday morning.

I set up an appointment with my new doctor for a meet and greet. He’s not the one who will be doing my medical MJ paperwork, once my new drivers license shows up, I’ll be doing a tele-med appointment for that. I’m sure they are the same as all the MMJ doctors I’ve ever dealt with. As long as I am able to pay their fee, they will write the scrip.

I keep reminding Hubs about that. We worked hard so we could enjoy ourselves in our dotage. That is now.

flyboy, I guess that’s something that was never part of my religious tradition.

Nor mine. I had a secular upbringing. If I were to choose a church, I’d choose Episcopalian. But I want SWMBO to be happy, so I go to church with her.

Happy Birthday to swampy and all the other 7/29ers!!

Bella thinks their new bed is acceptable.

George says that if Bella likes it, he likes it even if there isn’t enough room.

Carb-heavy dinner tonight. I had a 15% off code for Sahara Pizza, so I ordered a medium Ultimate Sahara (‘A hefty offering of onions, green peppers, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives & Italian sausage on our specialty marinara sauce smothered in mozzarella cheese’) and an Individual Greek salad. Mrs. L.A. didn’t want any salad, so I ate all of it (less the croutons). I had a ‘normal-size’ slice of pizza, except for the outer crust, and a smaller slice. I left most of the crust and just ate the sauce and the toppings. And vino rosso, of course.

We’ve had their Hawaiian Passion (Marinara sauce with Canadian bacon & pineapple smothered with extra cheese) a couple of times, and their Lion’s Feast (Marinara sauce, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, salami, seasoned ground beef & Italian sausage with a generous layer of mozzarella cheese) a couple of times; but so far my favourite is the Landmark (Sun-dried tomato pesto, fresh garlic, spinach leaves, ricotta, mozzarella & parmesan cheese, and Italian sausage). Hey, if I’m going to spend almost fifty bucks on a pizza (without a coupon code, plus tip) and eat carbs, this is the one I want. They have other pies that look delicious, but SWMBO doesn’t want anything too ‘non-traditional’. (i.e., no BBQ sauce, no al fredo, no salmon…)

Mrs. L.A. wants me to go to Trader Joe’s on my way back from Perry O’Donnel’s tomorrow. I bought her some JoJos (TJ’s version of Oreos) and she likes them. ISTR they taste different from Oreos, but she says they taste the same. Also, JoJos are $4.49 vs. Oreos that cost like $8.49. I may as well get a Cobb salad for lunch whilst I’m there.

The other day, there were two items on my shopping list: Jalapeño peppers, and soy sauce. That’s enough for a drive to the supermarket! :sunglasses:

(I just remembered today that I’d taken a picture.)
