(Old) A Drinking Problem in the MMP

Found the clog. We actually do have a clean-out port. Or did. Decades of tree growth and entropy had buried it nearly a foot below the current ground level. (Unless it was intentionally buried.) When the tree was removed, the clean-out port was broken off. Eventually, enough dirt got into the pipe that the stuff going down the toilet clogged up against it. The plumber showed it to us, then dug some toilet paper out and ran water through the vent pipe. He pushed his snake downstream, and we heard a whoosh. He said, ‘It’s in the city now!’

I really hate spending three kilobucks I don’t have, but with the broken clean-out it would have had to have been done eventually. At least we got a new outdoor faucet inexpensively.

Glass half full. :tumbler_glass: Feel free to have one now that you can use the toilet

Krogered and when I was putting stuff away, I found a package with 2 hot dog buns so I needn’t have put my daughter’s hotdog in a hamburger bun last Saturday. I didn’t go to Kroger yesterday because we were at 813 gas points. I would have needed another 87 in order to get 90 cents off a gallon in July and I didn’t think I’d be buying enough to get 87 points. Well as it turned out I got 108 points today. So, hopefully we can get to 1000 points in July which will give us $1 off a gallon in August.

Mowed the front yard and 1/4 of the back. I was pretty worn out with the heat and humidity. So, I came in and made myself an Arnold Palmer; Hubs likes to make sun tea and I bought a bottle of lemonade. This revived me somewhat. So I made another glass of Arnold Palmer and had cottage cheese, apple chunks, green onion and pepper for lunch, then Whoopsy Fudge Stripes. Hubs came down and cut watermelon for both of us. I asked him not to be annoyed that I only mowed 1/4 of the back to which he replied that we need to spread grub control. Since I was revived, I said ok, let’s get it out and I can spread it. Apparently we’re out of grub control. Hubs was ready to wait a few days but I insisted that we go to Home Depot as soon as he ate lunch. Well, I got him going after he ate the watermelon since the grub control needs to be down before it rains. Had the nice young men at Home Depot lift the bag into the cart then into the trunk. I got the spreader down and put the grub control into it and was off. When I was about half done with the front, a few sporadic rain drops hit me. I put the peddle to the meddle and got both the front & back done before it started raining in earnest which it is doing now. So, that’s accomplished. I guess I’ll wait and go to the Fitness Center tomorrow. I have some sewing that needs to be done. Perhaps I’ll work on that.

Ah, I am not the only one who times their shopping to maximize the fuel points.

Afternoon all. Decided to do the gym early so pedaled about 45 minutes and sauna’ed, then decided to see Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (I reviewed in over in the Cafe Society thread, quick review is starts a bit slow with new characters but picks up at the end). Guy at the stand said I could get a large popcorn for the same price as a medium so I’m loaded with popcorn now. Got home just before the rain and tunder-boomers hit, looks like we’ll have a couple of hours of them.

Catglove, Cupcakes, only got 147 Kroger points for June, so hopefully will get 0.10 of a gallon on my July fillup, which is fine by me.

Flyboy, glad things are working now and the plumber at least showed you what the problem was. And yeah, plumbing woes ain’t cheap. Al least you got a outdoor faucet in the deal.

suzie, that was awful nice, both of the mystery person and yourselves.

lucky, hope the problem isn’t severe and can be treatable.

OK, onward into the afternoon, Take care all.

Fun! I did their “Write Every Day in May,” so I can’t hit people up for donations again quite this quickly.

Flyboy, I hope this clears up all the plumbing issues for a good long time.

I augment the points for what I buy when I fill out the survey. You can only do that once in every seven days, but that means you can get at least 200 extra points a month.

Hubs is all over filling out the surveys. Since he did it today and there’s 5 Saturdays, that will be 250 points for July.

Howdy Y’all! Much merriment was had out by the cee-mint pond. We ate, we drank, we laughed. Plus the biiiiiig enormous gigantic N.O,L. was tres num! Everything got et up, so yay for that. Everyone is now gone (been gone about an hour) and we are all showered and happy to be in the a/c as ‘tis hawt out there! I kept insistin’ folks drink water whilst we were out there. I feel good knowin’ everyone was well hydrated. It was Summer fun at its best.

lucky hope everything is OK.

Flyboy YIKES! Glad the plumbin’ woes are over, however.

Lily what a nice thing for someone to do for y’all.

Cat_Glove I do love me an Arnold Palmer. I make a cheat version with a packet each of powdered iced tea and lemonade in my big Yeti tumbler. I can sip on it for hours!

I did not succumb to the greezy cheezeboiger. Stopped at Chick Fil A for some crispy nuggets and had those with a leftover artichoke. I rode today and almost passed out. It’s not the heat, it’s the hoomidity. Ariel got a bath when we done, along with carrots and watermelon.

I have showered and am going to spend the evening watching Law and Order, series 7.

Y’all buy more groceries there than I do.

I hope that you’re feeling better soonest lucky!

Yikes on the plumbing issues flyboy!

Got some mending, a few kitchen tasks and bathing Nelson done. After that, I got in the shower and was interrupted when the power went out (it was storming). I managed to dry off by flashlight before it came back on. (note to Mooooooooom, oopsie and sari, expect some storms tomorrow, since you’re about a day behind us). Tonight is the fireworks event at the main park about 1.5 miles away. I’ve already had to give Nelson some serious cuddles because of the storm this afternoon, so I’m guessing that I’ll have a lap puppy tonight. We’ve been known to go camping over the Independence holiday to avoid this.

We’ve had some t-boomers and rain, but it was moving thru pretty fast. Should be over soon…

Other than that, chillage has been the order of the day.

We so could use a couple of hours of rain. The pollen has been bad for weeks.

Evening all. Pretty much nothing happening down here, rain has departed (for now) and caught up on my You Tube watching (Saturdays are for Kara and Nate). Dinner has been assimilated and bedtime is a couple hours away. Still fairly quiet, guess folks are saving their 4th of July ammo for Sunday-Tuesday.

Cupcakes, catglove, never thought of doing one of the surveys, may have to look into that.

OK, need to watch trains on Virtual railfan then go read for awhile. Catch y’all on Sunday.

I heaved. I mezz-ed around. I cleaned up the 200 slide. I napped. I’m up now, did my quarterly filter change and mattress flip, along with 2 loads of laundry(work clothes, sheets). Having a Sazarac. I had some thunderstorms nearby, but just light rain here.

Is that what you crazy kids are calling sloppy seconds these days? :stuck_out_tongue:

Parkay!

A 3 kilobuck faucet. :open_mouth: Times like this I’m glad I live in an apartment.

I’ll let you know when the floor talks to me.

Reminds me of a skit I saw (possibly on Fridays). A grieving Hispanic woman is sobbing next to a coffin. ‘¿Por que?’ The coffin’s lid opens and we hear, ‘Mantequilla!’ And so on until the woman says, ‘Mantequilla si!’ The coffin’s lid opens, and it says ‘Parkaaaaay…!’

Happy Saturday!

Nice morning at the park weather wise, the drama is annoying.
The morning group is basically gone, but new people are showing up that are real assholes.

We had a thunder boomer tonight, and fireirks.
Misiu barks at both, Rayleigh ignores them.
Misiu is already showing signs of being a watchdog, Rayleigh is…

One of the things I like about Shar Pei is their ‘fuck you’ attitude.
Rayleigh has perfected it
When you scold him, he will sit back, watch you, get up, turn his back with a flick of the tail, and trot away.

The local yokels have started shooting off fireworks. I’m glad ? that I don’t have a doggo getting scared by them. Cinn used to try to get under the couch.

I’ve been watching L&O: SVU tonight. Time for bed. See you all mañana.
