(Old) Another English Autumnal MMP

Finally Friday!

Digging through the datalanche, I got data from a quarterly contributor. She cannot figure out how to save their data to an Excel file. Or maybe it’s the specialised accounting software used by the lumber industry that doesn’t have the capability. (I tried to contact the software supplier in the past, but never received an answer.) So the member sends their data as .pdf files. Not only do I have to enter the amounts manually (not that I’m complaining – they pay me the same whether I do this, or writing a program, or dealing with ‘management’ issues), but I have to print out the aging file (only three pages) because I don’t want to keep changing windows on my computer. And my wife’s printer is a bit blurry.

Anyway, I got through it. So now it’s the regular routine. I won’t walk today because it’s raining; but it’s Friday so we’ll go out someplace for dinner.

Shorter day todat. I stopped at Tar-Jay on the way home and bought a toaster, since the 14 year old one went Full Spot and started burning my toast on the lower settings.

You’re gonna be on The List when you get home.

Taters, good luck on the leave burning. And hope Spudson feels better.

< crosses fingers for Sticky >

Do you have to keep a pinky extended while using the faaaaaancy toilet paper?

Glad you made it in one piece and there’s a cat and tea for you.

Went out the door at 7:15 this morning and got home at 8:00, 1.5 hours later than normal. Blurf.

Was planning to do a few exercises when I got home, but long day = no exercise. a

Eating a salad with mixed greens, Emmentaler cheese, kalamata olives and Switzerland’s version of honey mustard dressing. After that’s done I’m going to drink cranberry juice with fizzy water. And find something dumb, but entertaining, to watch on tv. Shouldn’t be too hard, right?

The Sun came out, so I started a walk; but it was so windy that my hat was blown off into a puddle. I only walked 0.8 miles today.

Home, tahred, and a bit icky sticky - it wasn’t sweaty hot at the show, but being by the water, it was damp-sticky. The show was heavily slanted towards fishing boats - VERY expensive fishing boats with 3 and 4 huge outboards on them. There were a few trawlers and we toured one - a mere $5 million, yanno…

FCD talked to a few vendors about some stuff and we wandered around looking. But after 2 hours, he was whipped - his back and legs can’t take a lot of walking. So we were back in the car around 1.

One boat that was interesting:

If you live at the beach, you can drive it right up into your yard! The treads retract when you’re afloat.

Apparently MIL slept most of the day for Daughter, and almost fell one time. She’s in bed again. Dunno if she’ll want supper - I guess we’ll see later. Meanwhile, I need a beverage and some chillage.

Happy (late) Firday!!

It needs hydrofoils.

Just learned yesterday that my eldest grandson is being deployed to Israel with his National Guard unit until next freaking August. Something else to worry about.

:crossed_fingers:

Howdy Y’all! Today was, indeed, a day of high RDOS inactivity. Nappage and day drinkin’ have been the highlights. We et majik intartoobz pizza and sallit. Next up will be Netflix, chill, and popcorn.

shoe glad you made it to Texas with the goodies. Have fun at the fancy white thing.

sticky_buns happy cleanin’. Hope filin’ another claim does the trick.

MetalMouse happy new tires and shoppin’.

Taters hope son is feelin’ better. Sleep is good. So is bacon.

Lucky have a good time in Oregon!

doggio does the new toaster make cylon toast?

Cookie that sucks about your grandson. Here’s hopin’ he has a safe tour.

I bet it is charmin. The blue one. I was surprised by the scalloping. Rumored to be smooth tearing…

FCD and I were talking about the settlement reached with the longshoremen union. MIL has decided that their $4/hr raise will raise our taxes. I guess she thinks they’re civil servants rather than employees of various private companies. Either that, or she’s further losing her mind…

Daughter took her spawn to visit a friend who’s fostering puppies. Tobias loves them.

They’re Tobias-sized!
Roxy got a turn, too

She had Trevor over here today so he could run around in the yard. He apparently needs someone out there throwing a ball for him. He doesn’t just frolic on his own. What a dog!!

:joy:

:people_hugging:

:squee!: They’re all so cute.

Ok, I finally did hear back from my boss. She was out sick. I stand corrected. She answered my questions sufficiently, but I found that I was not very specific. So, I just sent her a detailed email with more questions. I’ve tried to chill out about the situation and make myself clear about what I need to know. At this point in time I’ll keep on keeping on.

MusicMan is on his way home and should be here in about 1 1/2 hours! Tomorrow we’re probably going to a baby shower that everyone in his family is psyched about. I am not excited because A)I’m an introvert, dammit! B)I wouldn’t know the mom to be if she passed me on the street, C)It’s at least an hour’s drive to get there and my knee doesn’t like driving that distance. D) At least 33% of the time someone in that crowd is making a fat comment.

I suggested we go to the casino for prime rib tonight, but SWMBO wants to go to Smuggler’s Tunnel again.

Hugs to you and well wishes to him.

Squee! on both the puppies and the grands!

Laundry done, houseirk done, groceries bought, Nelson dogparked and supper et. Even adulted with a couple of phone calls today. Go me!

Now for chillage.

The only time Jolene has ever come when called, was when she was picking us out at the shelter.

Not so much…that means sometimes yes. No wonder we revolted!!!

:notes: Somebody gonna be in trouble! :musical_note:

I’m glad you had a safe flight. When are you going home again, I don’t think you said.

Have a great white dinner.

I hope he starts feeling better in time to visit, I know that both of you were looking forward to it.

This should NOT be this hard. What a PITA, I really hope it gets resolved in your favor soon.

After much discussion (and thanks everyone who shared their thoughts), this is what we are going to do. I have much sympathy for his circumstances, but TBH, his family is not as important to me as our cats are. Not to mention the liability issue.

What will they think of next!

Give me the address and I’ll bring my big cane.

Nothing much happened here today. Hubs rode his mower around and I tried to go swimming. I couldn’t get to the freeway because there was a parade in the way, so I parked at the little grocery sto and watched for a while before buying some milk and coming home.

The Diablo IV expansion pack will be out on Tuesday and hubs has been looking at reviews and game vids so he’ll be ready first thing in the morning. I’m not as excited but I am planning on running through it with the new character class and content.

Currently I’m running through Diablo Immortal because they also added content and a couple of new classes.

I haven’t been working on my mystery piece for a while because I got sidetracked by something else. I pulled it out again and the first thing I saw was a big glaring mistake. Many bad words were said.

Tomorrow I’m going to try out my new MMJ card. There’s a new dispensary by the UPS sto that I want to check out.

Nothing worse than having a dream about a grizzly, a black bear, and a facehugger chasing you through work interrupted by a leg cramp. But I’m up, having a martini, and watching preseason hockey.

Thanks to The Interwebs, there is a lifetime of brain rotting entertainment available.

Perfect for fishing for landsharks.

ekranoplan!

I bought a Model #GB24, since they were out of Model #6

Yeah, most systems these days are “Auto-deny everything, and hope 99.99% of the applicants don’t have the spoons to appeal”.

Also, we are still apparently still bombing Japan

Happy Friday!

The sun finally came out and it got a bit warm today. I wore a jacket to the doctor’s and I was too warm.

No park as nobody texted they were going. From what I hear, it is a soggy, muddy mess. We want to keep an eye on Misiu’s foot anyway.

Our neighbor mowed our front yard today, which kind of made me feel bad. He said he was out doing his yard and so just continued on over to ours. He said the grass is really thick, and still wet up close to the house.

We’re waiting on a new blade. I’ve been wanting to go pick one up for weeks now, and it never seems to happen. It was supposed to be delivered today. I think that is the problem with the lawn mower. It’s still pretty wet out there, so my son wouldn’t mow until tomorrow or Sunday anyway.
Th neighbor told me a good place to get the blade sharpened. Also wanted to know if I care if he cuts back the trees behind my fence. I don’t care, it belongs to the farm. It’s just a few trees between me and the cornfield. The people who lived here before used to go out and trim the trees and cut back the brush. I suppose we should? I don’t know because it doesn’t bother me. It bothers the neighbor because something drops off the trees and he has a bunch of cars and stuff out there.

I told my son he should bake some cookies for the neighbor.

Red, I think about taking the dogs to Lowes or Home Depot, but I’m not sure about taking all three at the same time.
I am thinking about getting some cheap agility course stuff from da jungle. I wanted to put Echo in agility classes, but then the plague happened. I think she’d like it and be good at it. I don’t know about the boys though.
It would give them something new to do, if they would be motivated.

Kids are cute, puppies are cute, the two together and way too cute!

Good luck with everything Sticky

I didn’t get a lot done today. For the third night in a row I woke around 3 and couldn’t get back to sleep. Then when I do fall back asleep, I will sleep through the alarms and the phone.
I have a lot to do tomorrow and Sunday.

And a nice late evening to all. Ditzed around this afternoon until it was too late to go swimming, so went to the gym after soccer practice and did some more pedaling/walking. Tomorrow I’ll coach two soccer games and referee one, so that should keep me busy and (mostly) out of trouble. Down to 72F now so comfortable sleepage is expected.

Lucky, had never heard of Daiso before,Wiki’ed them and it looks like the closest one is in Dallas, so I’ll have to visit sometime in the future…enjoy your vacation.

FCM, yeah, most shows like that feature the stuff we can’t afford. And unless I’m planning to invade Palm Beach, I don’t think that boat will do for me. And kids and puppies will make me smile at any time.

Cookie. my best wishes to your grandson, that’s not a great place to be deployed right now.

Sticky Buns, like the British, have a stiff upper lip.

Question is who had the leg cramp; the grizzly, the black bear, or the facehugger?

And as to bombing Japan, guess it’s good to know they still work 75 years later…

Sari, nice of neighbor to help, I sometimes mow the “side” yard between our houses for my neighbor when I’m out doing my yard.

And it’s after 10pm and it’s been a fairly full day, so adios and I’ll check in sometime tomorrow.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s my Firday.

A grizzly with leg cramps would be even more violent
