So does Ben and Jerry’s. Like 3 oz or so.

Wow! He outweighs Nelson by 1.6 lbs.
Missed this, sorry. How tall is Nelson? Will he stand still long enough for you to hold a ruler next to him? George is about 22 inches tall at the shoulder (measured against the drawer grooves on my desk)

So you’re ready for the wurst case scenario.
Grabs newspapers.
So I’m posting again because Hubs told me he hired a new housekeeper today. She walked in and Jolene strutted right over to her and got scooped up and cooed over. GG watched her from a distance but didn’t take off and hide in his Cabinet of Silence. He said she has inside only cats of her own and has scheduled her for Thursday morning.
I also met the folks who are considering buying the place next to us. They seemed very nice but said they were going to buy it for their disabled daughter and her two young children. I really hope they also have the place fenced, this really isn’t the best place for free range school children. There’s the highway with loaded semi trucks, the train that takes miles to stop and the unfenced river behind the tracks.
If they move in, I won’t be worrying about the butterflies anymore.
Tonight’s kitchen experiment: Chicken breast tenderloins, coated in mayonnaise, then rolled in a mixture of bread crumbs, Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, and tarragon, and baked in the toaster oven; with broccoli. Pretty good, but too much salt. Mrs. L.A. only ate one breast, so tomorrow I’ll reheat it in spaghetti sauce with a slice of provolone.
Good evening all. Pedals got pushed and sweat was swut, and 25 minutes in the sauna have me at 211.4lbs on the scale.
Started coaching soccer but the rain decided to show up early so I sent the kids home…except for the one whose mom had gone to pickup his brother about 20 minutes away. Didn’t have my cellphone with me, but fortunately another parent had her phone number and called/texted her. The league has strict rules about coaches and players occupying the same car, but I wasn’t going to leave him stranded, so he sat in the back area ;of my SUV with the rear door all the way up and was completely shielded from the rain. Me, however, decided to get out of the car to watch for his mom arriving just as the rain decided to go into ‘3-minute hurricane’ mode the wind damn near inverted my umbrella and soaked me to the skin. His mom showed up but decided to park 50 yards away instead of next to my car, so I had to run over there and bring her over…but Mom and son were reunited and all wa;s right with the world.
Then actually remembered to go over to another park and get my fancy new Coaching jacket, looks good now it just needs to get cold enough to wear it. Have dined on Mac-n-Cheese so appetite has been sated for now. Still raining outside and more is on tap for tonight and tomorrow.
Oopsie, glad the elbow is feeling better. And I don’t keep ice cream in the house since i have the same resistance to it as to Oreo Cookies and potato chips–namely, none. And the local ice cream store closed down, so it’s a hard life these days…
BBBoo, I’m in Ali-bama, checked your site and it directed me to a state organization so noted it and may visit it later.
Legend, agree with the others, letting a house rot does not preserve any memories but prevents the creation of new ones…IMHO.
FCM, smart to stay out of family disputes.

ow do you keep track of your laps? The rec center’s pool is a standard Olympic sized lap pool and a mile would be 32 laps.
JtC, we have a more mundane 25-yard pool, so I count it in sets of 300 yards (or 12 lengths). First I count up 0-6, then down from 6-0; second set I go 0-150 yards, and then back to zero. Third set is by strokes, usually takes me 25-27 stokes per length, so up to 150+ and then count back down. The also have a clock there and it usually takes me around 10 minutes to do 300 yards, so I watch that to check my counting. If I do more than that in one go I usually restart. And that is probably more information that you really wanted, but since you asked…
Glad that both cats seem to be fat and happy. Hope the new neighbors will be nice, once they buy the rental place. And sounds like your new housekeeper will do just fine.

Does it freeze?
That…is a question I have not considered. Nothing definite regarding processed and pre-cooked braunschweiger, may have to look a little deeper…

So you’re ready for the wurst case scenario
Indeed so.
OK, nearly 8:;30 in the PM, much to get done before bedtime, and have an appointment tomorrow morning with the ENT folks, so take care all.

BBBoo, I’m in Ali-bama
chagrinned smile<. I’ll try to remember that, but no promises. My bonked brain can barely keep track of me sometimes. Keys and phone are chancey.
So, are you closer to swampy then? Guess that’ll mean fewer rides on FCM’s boat than I was imagining for you.
Runs to google to see if swut is a Word.
If it isn’t, it should be.
This group is good at coming up with custom vocabulary. My POV is that if it conveys the desired meaning, it counts as a word/phrase.
I’ve been watching a documentary on Prime about Irish lighthouses. It’s fascinating and a little bit terrifying!
But it’s after 10 and I need my beauty sleep.
Is swut a word?
@discobot fortune
Yes
There you have it!

Looks like we’ll be stormed upon from tomorrow afternoon until sometime Firday, so glad everything got done today.
After I watched the news this is what I came to find out, if you are all prepared.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 12c/54f with a predicted high of 14c/56f, and cloudy. Weather app says “For fuck’s sake. What up with the fucking overcast sky?” It’s not that bad outside, I can see blue sky and some white fluffies, and a few little grey bits over in the distance but generally, looks pretty nice out there.
Last night was pretty much as expected - I logged out of work and made campus food, then had time for a cup of tea before we went grocery shopping. That was largely uneventful, came home and stuffed everything into the fridge, then watched the last half of the last episode of Nightsleeper while i’m indoors was making dinner.
Today I was up at the crack of sparrow’s fart to come to campus, the commute was not too bad and the Travel Gods decided to delay the nice train just long enough for me to get on it. Train from Big City to campus was one of the older ones, so a bit cramped but it’s six carriages instead of three, so it’s not as bad as it was. I have two tedious meetings to be at today, and two tomorrow to look forward to. But it’s midweek, my friends are back from their trip so we will be off to the pub tonight.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 86 with rain beginnin’ this afternoon. We are under a TROPICAL STORM WARNING as of five a.m. this mornin’. Good thing then the need to leave da cave for things got done yestiddy, IMO. We shall be happy to remain in da cave and be the RDOS hermits we are wont to be. Looks like the worst of it will be tomorrow, but one never knows. It could also turn out to be a big nuttin’ except for a lot of rain. We shall break fast for sup tonight due to a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for pancakes and bacon.
CupCakes I am as prepared as I can be. My phone, however, is in full blown panic mode. I’ve gotten no less than three weather notifications since I woke up this mornin’. Poor thing just needs to calm down!
BooFae happy pub night!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Good thing then the need to leave da cave for things got done yestiddy,
So you bought plenty of TP, milk, eggs, and bread?? Because, yanno, this storm could leave you stranded at home for WEEKS!!! or maybe even a day or two. Don’t just act - overreact!!!
It’s raining. FCD is on his way to see the vampire then off to the boatyard to settle up our bill. MIL is sleeping. Aide will be here sometime this morning, so I need to shower pretty soon. Diet Coke is BOGO at Food Lion, so I’ll be heading over there some time today, and probably even tomorrow. I’m down to four 6-packs, which won’t last even a week!!! The horror!!!
Not sure what else the day holds. Some crocheting, I guess. Dishwasher needs to be emptied, so there’s that. I guess I’ll figure it out as I go along.
Happy Wednesday!
Good morning.
It’s 63 degrees and cloudy, with an expected high of 66 degrees and rain. We’re supposed to receive around a quarter-inch of rain.
I have skimmed but have not really retained. I’ve been a little busy these past few days between outings, chores, and work.
On Saturday, a co-worker picked me up, and we went to the Foothills trail to walk and chat. We walked around eight miles, maybe a little more. The fishermen were out in the Carbon River fishing for salmon, and some nice specimens were caught. After I came home, I took care of some chores and caught up on some work emails.
Sunday, I mainly took care of chores, but I had to run some errands, too.
Monday and Tuesday were in-office days because the new MPA started, and I wanted to be there for him if he needed assistance. I also believe in being present to welcome new employees. Technically, I should be in the office today, too, since I have a quarterly building tenants meeting with the other agencies there. I can still participate in that via Teams. The network at the office has been a complete PITA, and yesterday we lost access to the internet, thus many of the sites we access to complete work and submit documents. The internet service was restored, but the overall slowness of the network was impacting my ability to get some work done, so I’m going to stay home where I have fast and reliable internet.
The new MPA is in training mode anyway, so I don’t really need to be there in person. He has my cell number and can contact me on Teams for chats. He’s very capable, and I’m sure he’ll be fine.
Today is both my quarterly and year-end performance meeting with my boss. I’ve already provided the write he wanted, and he’s told me the meeting is just a formality. He told me my performance is exceptional. He relies on me and can count on me.
Stay safe for those of you in the path of the latest storm.
I’m hoping I can catch up here. I am sending you all the best for today and this week in case I get wrapped up in more work stuff.

I have skimmed but have not really retained.
I do that a lot, alas. I check in when I really should be doing something else, and, well…
No more excuses - I need to shower and dress.
Hi everyone. ITS STILL RAINING!!! I sat out in the porch for a while but I got COLD and had to come inside.
I love it!!!
I don’t have much planned for the day. I’m at a tricky part in my needlepoint and I’m afraid to try to work on it because I can’t stop looking outside. I’ll probably go and splash around in a while but no other plans have been made.
But watching the lovely, wonderful rain.

Runs to google to see if swut is a Word.

If it isn’t, it should be.
Precisely…

We shall break fast for sup tonight due to a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for pancakes and bacon.
That’s my plan for Thorsday. Great minds think alike…

He told me my performance is exceptional. He relies on me and can count on me.
Indeed so. You most definitely deserve the exceptional. Hope a bonus comes with it.
And a good morning to all. Not raining at this moment but it is due later this morning, so I expect soccer will be called off today, but we’ll see. Need to see the ENT folks at 10am and get my swimming in this afternoon, and the garbage goes out to the curb this evening, so at least I have my day planned… Down to 68F and only due to reach 77F so the AC will be getting the day off.
Have gnawed on the morning Red Delicious apple and am ready to face life…I guess. Have a good Hump Day all.
