Looks like the issue with the third-party company is getting resolved. They called El Jefe and also our member. Hopefully, they’ll get it sorted.
I’ve logged off, and the three-day weekend has started.

What’s “leftovers”, Precious?
FINE!! :stomps out of MMP:
I’m sorry, I hate it when people do that.
That is the name for people who have never had COVID. Thanks for the good wishes, this is how I react to them every time so I know I’ll be up and petting kitties tomorrow afternoon.
I’m glad the interview went well.
Having someone come out once a week or two to do the hard stuff makes it so much easier to keep everything neat and tidy for us. We can wipe surfaces and dust, but the floors and ceiling fans are just too much.
Are you getting a lot of rain on your side of the state? It’s been very soggy here and I learned that people don’t go to the indoor pool when it is raining which I think is kinda odd. I know you shouldn’t swim in outside pools when it is storming because of the lightning danger, but inside pools are grounded and such.
Are the furry ones attentive?
You hate it when people create silly acronyms? Uh oh. I’m in trouble. I live for acronyms! Especially in the world of education, they’re everywhere! I used to sit at staff meetings texting my one teacher friend the alternate meanings to them. Like IEP = Interesting Elephant Poop! It was fun to try to make her laugh while she should have been paying attention.
It has been raining off and on here. It was slightly muggy and in the mid to high 70s when we were out earlier. I’ve been meaning to mention that I used to LOVE water aerobics! I still do, but since we moved to where we live now, the availability at the local Y is limited and it’s about a 30+ minute drive to the place where I used to go. Although, if I were to get this job, it would be much closer to the Y. Hmm…
I know we are concerned about swampie in Georgia, but how many other Dopers might be in the hurricane path? Has anyone else said they have had to evacuate?
You hate it when people create silly acronyms?
No, I hate it when people use acronyms and don’t explain what it means.
I loved yours
I’ve been meaning to mention that I used to LOVE water aerobics!
I’ve only had a few classes so far, but I’ve been in the pool for an hour a day on a daily basis. I think my chicken wings aren’t flapping as much as they did before I started, but that could just be wishful thinking.
While I’m missing my Tai Chi classes, I’m enjoying the water aerobics classes a bunch. I hope you can start going again soon, the older we get the more we need to make the effort to move our bodies around on a regular basis.
but how many other Dopers might be in the hurricane path?
I’ve been watching the hurricane thread and it sounds like things have gotten bad in Florida. I think we have a Mumper in TN but the weather says no danger, just a lot of rain. Here in WV, we are getting the effects of the storm moving air around so it is nicely soggy. That’s really all that will happen for the next 4 or 5 days.
Howdy Y’all! The heavy rains have started. Some local roads are flooded with more to come, no doubt. I keep hopin’ it will downgrade to a tropical storm when it passes through. However, I really think it will be more like a cat 1 but with winds on the lower side, so there’s that I reckon. Everything is charged up and we have battery packs, or whatever they are called, for backup, if needed
Sticky_Buns glad the interview went well.
JtC sorry for the post vaccine ick. Happens to me as well. Go rest. Tomorrow will be better.
I’m enjoying the water aerobics classes a bunch.
Do you do deep or shallow water aerobics? I preferred the deep.
I just looked it up and the organization that I the interview with is a 501c thingymabobber so it could wipe out my student loans if I got the job and stayed a couple years! Suddenly a great reason. And, coincidentally, during today’s interview she did mention that membership to the Y is included. I don’t know if it includes where I used to go, buy maybe they’ve got other water aerobics locations available!
… they smell pretty good fresh out of the ovens, too, sorta like bland pita chips.
I’m guessing that with a little seasoned olive oil for dipping, they’d be downright tasty.
I can see traffic slowing and pausing but I’d have to walk down the street (in the rain) to see what’s happening.
Think of maybe using GoogleMaps to satisfy your curiosity?
I’m not a huge fan of apple butter, but it is usually served on bread and I do like me some good bread.
My maternal grandfather was a huge fan of apple butter. During the Depression years, Mom said that he’d take apple butter sandwiches in his lunch pail every day. Even after he retired, apple butter on bread, cornbread or crackers was eaten for snacks and with meals.
swampy, stay safe from the storm. You know that if worse came to worse, there are Mumpers who’d put you and OYKW up.
It’s a trope in old movies that a character would put a shot of alcohol into his coffee, and call it a ‘sweetener’.
Actually, a shot of liqueur in a cup of coffee or a glass of of unsweetened iced tea can be lovely. And peppermint schnapps, creme de cacao or amaretto in a cup of hot cocoa is da bomb.
I think we have a Mumper in TN but the weather says no danger, just a lot of rain.
That would be me. We’re supposed to have storms beginning any time now and finishing up sometime tomorrow. East Tennessee is supposed to get a deluge of rain with accompanying flooding.
Did prep for my locations’ cycle counts for most of the day today, interfaced with my old department to let them know how many racks were labeled for the count and this morning figured that we should be above the 98% accuracy goal.
After irk, I took Nelson to the dog park (given the predicted rain, it may be his last chance this weekend) where he got to play with a new long haired chi named Luna, a chi named Peanut and Peanut’s rat terrier / chi brother Clovis. His buddy Eddie (dachshund) came by for a visit and a good time was had by all.
Now to mess around in the studio.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Is this the original cartoon series? The theme music was awesome!
Absolutely. And if some of the young’ns haven’t heard it before…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIhEpjnaNlo Now what 7-10 year old kid seeing and hearing that ain’t watching that show?
Nitey-Night JtC; feel good tomorrow.
Sticky Buns, I probably should get a cleaning service hired, just been too slothful to do so. And good luck with the job. Sounds while the pay isn’t great, some of the extras will be most helpful.
As for the weather, it is still South and East of me, but should be arriving by bedtime and the heavy storms will probably interrupt my sleeptime. Got the soccer game in (we lost 2-3 and can’t blame it on the referee, since I refereed it…). Cheeburger has been ingested and will shortly go pour myself a bowl of Applesauce.
Take care all.
Well, they installed all new washers and dryers in our building.
Oh! Our cards don’t work in them and I need to do laundry.
New cards coming Monday.
So instead of walking down the hall and paying $1 to wash and 1 to dry, I must take the bus with my laundry and do it for $5.
Most of you are going, well thats not bad.
Thats because you are not in poverty.
Its minor in the scheme of things, I know.
Supper was stuffing and cranberry sauce because why not.
Eating pimento cheese on saltines and watching the Weather Channel.
Here in southeast VA we’re supposed to get wind and rain. Swampy and the rest…be safe

Update us, I have no tv!
When I was a kid there was one episode of that series that really creeped me out, the one with the electrical monster. I’d probably laugh now but back then I almost wanted to hide behind the couch, like I did with the flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz
We must be soul mates, I had exactly the same reaction to it the first time I saw in back in the 1960’s…if you’re curious, here it is on daily motion–costs money on YouTube (sound/voice quality is poor): https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8j53ug
Thank you! And that wasn’t all that poor quality, it looked fine to me.
Nothing like a Tornado Warning to disturb your slumber. Along with the lawn guys leaf blowing the walkways. No twister though, just rain. Having a Jungle Bird for cocktails.
Looking at Helene’s path, I shall now worry about swampy till the storm fizzles.
They are closing Waffle Houses in Florida, so I worry, too.(and for *MetalMouse and red)
the one with the electrical monster
The invisible one? that was one of my favorites!
